Home Tour Tuesday - Formal Dining Room

Happy Tuesday, friends!  I decided to take yesterday off from blogging since we were off of work for the holiday, so our weekend recap will be up tomorrow instead.  We went to Atlanta for a little weekend getaway and it was so invigorating to get out of town if only for a couple of days!  I can’t wait to share it with all of you tomorrow!

In the meantime, it’s Tuesday, so it’s time for another installment of Home Tour Tuesday!  Today I’m sharing with you our formal dining room.  We don’t use it a ton since we have an eat-in kitchen, but we love to use it for parties (you may remember seeing it in my post about Olivia's First Birthday) and when we have extended family over for dinner.

It is one of the first rooms you see when you walk in the front door, so I wanted it to be bright and cheerful, and I also wanted it to compliment our front sitting room since it’s right across the foyer from it.

This table seats eight very comfortably with room to spare.  It’s huge!

Since the table and chairs are so dark, we opted for white accessories to lighten up the room.  Enter the buffet table.

This buffet table is one of my favorite pieces of furniture in our entire house.

And the chandelier… ohhhh that lovely chandelier!  We took an Ikea trip about a year and a half ago to get several things, and this was definitely not on the list, but when I saw it, I had to have it.  And it has definitely not been a disappointment.

Fun fact – the majority of it is made from paper.  Yep, just regular ol’ white paper.

And of course, I have to have a tree covered in twinkle lights!  They add such ambience to the room!

Finally, the wine rack.  This completes the room and stores all of my beloved wine.  I do love my wine.  Hehe.

Well, I hope you enjoyed this second little peek into our home.  I’ll be back next week to share our living area and kitchen.

    1. Thank you! At first I was kinda thinking that it was pointless to have a formal dining room, but I'm glad that we do have one after all. We don't use it a ton, but it's nice to know it's there when we have people over!
