If you’re looking for something
super easy to make that is also a major crowd pleaser, then look no further
than this! My mom has been making
Chocolate Chip Bundt Cake or “Chocolate Chip Butt Cake” as our family lovingly
calls it (ya know, because it’ll go straight to your butt) for as long as I can
remember. It has always been one of our
favorite desserts and my mom has made it for countless dinners, parties, holidays,
and other get-togethers. I’ve never met
anyone who didn’t love it!
I never actually knew where
the recipe came from, but a couple of weeks ago one of my regular blog readers
who also happens to be the wife of one of my Daddy’s old coworkers (Hi, Kathy!)
saw me mention the cake on the blog, and she thought that it might be her
mother’s recipe. She messaged my Momma and
asked her, and sure enough, my Momma had gotten the recipe from her mom back
when she used to bring it to our church!
It’s such a small world and it really is neat to know where the recipe
came from!
Without further ado, one of
the tastiest and easiest treats that you will ever eat!
Buy It
1 box yellow cake mix
4 eggs
1 small box vanilla instant
pudding
1 8 oz. sour cream (I use
the light version)
1/2 cup vegetable oil (I use
Smart Balance)
1 12 oz. bag mini chocolate
chips
Powdered Sugar (optional if
you want to be fancy)
Use It
Make It
1.
Preheat oven to
350 degrees.
2.
Combine cake
mix, eggs, pudding, sour cream, and vegetable oil in large bowl with mixer for
two minutes.
3.
Stir in
chocolate chips.
4.
Grease or spray
a bundt cake pan.
5.
Pour mixture
into bundt cake pan.
6.
Bake for 45 – 60
minutes (45 is usually perfect in my oven).
7.
If you want to
be fancy, give it a good sprinkling of powdered sugar on the top… makes it look
pretty and gives the edges a burst of sweetness!
It’s basically like a big ol’
chocolate chip cookie. But in cake form.
And I told you it was easy!!
And just so you know, the
leftovers make for an excellent breakfast.
Grab a cup of coffee or a big, cold glass of milk, and eat up! And don’t forget to heat it up! Because when it’s warm, it’s even better.
You’re welcome.
And now it's time for the Tuesday Talk Link Up!
