New Travel Gallery Wall in My Home Office

*This post may contain affiliate links.

Brian and I travelled a lot before we had kids.  Heck, we still travel… we just don’t tend to travel as frequently or as far.  Needless to say, we have loads and loads of old photos from our travels and they are always some of my favorites to look back on.  A couple of years ago I shared this travel gallery wall in our playroom.  It houses our huge collection of souvenir frames with photos from all of our past travels.  Like, literally a picture frame from every single trip that Brian and I have ever been on together since we started dating.  I cherish this wall so much and every time I pass by it I’m reminded of so many great times.

I wanted to somehow incorporate our travels in my home office décor, but I had no more wall space.  I have been simplifying everything in our home lately, and I wanted to take down some of the “clutter” from the walls of my office, so I decided to wipe out my current gallery wall (you can see it here in my original office tour post from a couple of years ago) and hang something a little more simplified and meaningful.

I came across the Gladsax Album Frames at Ikea and they were perfect for the space, so I snagged nine of them, had my Daddy make mattes for me, developed a few of my favorite travel pictures, and voila – a brand new gallery wall!

The album frames were only $3 apiece and I spray painted them with metallic gold spray paint so I only spent around $30 on the entire wall!  Unfortunately, the Gladsax frames are no longer available, but I found these on Amazon that are very similar if you are interested in making your own gallery wall!  Although, if you are buying them in bulk, this might be the way to go.

And I could not love the square frames more… I think they look so unique since most frames are rectangular in shape, and I also love how symmetrical the wall is.

Now for the history of the photos in the frames…

1.      Washington D.C., 2010
2.      Bahamas, 2004
3.      Los Angeles, CA, 2007 (that’s me with Britney Spears’s Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame)
4.      The Grand Canyon Sky Walk, 2009
5.      Vegas, BABY!, 2009
6.      New York City, 2012 (that’s B and me in front of the Christmas tree in Rockefeller Center)
7.      Snowshoe, WV, 2004
8.      Malibu, CA, 2014
9.      Maui, Hawaii, 2007 (taken on our honeymoon)

I absolutely love this wall and I love how much cleaner it made the whole room feel!  And I also love seeing some of my favorite pictures on the wall while I work each day!
