I have to say that this felt like another long week. I thought it was going to be a little less busy this week, but Olivia ended up with a pretty bad cold which resulted in her first ear infection in three years, so we spent some time at the doctor and the pharmacy. Add in swimming lessons every day and a few errands that needed to be run and we were still on the go a good bit. Other than that, the week was pretty good, but I’m ready for the weekend and some relaxation!
O N E – Perfect Summer Dress
Before we left for the
beach, I had some Kohl’s cash to spend and I ended up getting two of these dresses for free! They were already on
major sale and they happened to have a bonus coupon to use on top of the sale,
and then my Kohl’s cash covered the rest… all but a couple of bucks! Score! I tried on a small and a medium, and although both fit wonderfully, I decided to go with the medium to have the extra room!
This dress is SO CUTE on, the length is perfect (it hits just above the knee so you could even wear it to church with a denim jacket!), and the back has a little keyhole cutout with
a ribbon closure. It's really thick and not see-through at all. I wore one of them at
The Hub in 30A and it was the perfect, casual, comfy little summer dress! It comes in so many patterns and solids and
it’s currently on sale for just $21.99. Then
you can also get an additional 20% off of your entire order with the code
HEATWAVE. Sale ends 6/23, though, so buy them soon! This is one that I'd buy in every color!
T W O – Perfect Cutoff Shorts
I’ve been on a mission to
find a good pair of distressed cutoff shorts for years. Years,
y’all. The ones I usually find and love
cost an arm and a leg, and the ones that I can actually afford are usually
cheap looking or stiff and uncomfortable.
Well, I happened to stumble across these one day at Kohl’s and they are
perfection. They are the softest,
stretchiest jean shorts and they are SO COMFORTABLE. They fit like a dream and they are so cute
on! I do have to say that they are
short, though. I wear pretty short
shorts anyway, but they are slightly shorter than my typical short shorts, so I
thought that was worth mentioning.
Since they are in the
juniors section, I sized up a good bit from my typical size. For reference, I typically wear a 2 in pants
and shorts at Old Navy, American Eagle, and Target, but the 9 fits the best for
these! Since they're stretchy, the 7s also fit, but I wanted
them to be a little looser since they’re so short. I also could have worn an 11 as well, but
they were a little looser than I like.
They’re on sale for just $22.00
and the code HEATWAVE can also be applied to those for an additional 20% off
making them just $17.60!!
T H R E E – Multiplication Flash Cards
I’m on a mission to teach
Jacob all of his multiplication facts by the time third grade starts. I looked high and low for a set of flashcards
to use to help him learn, and nearly every set I came across was missing half
of the cards. So weird.
I ended up finding this set
on Amazon and it has every single multiplication fact backwards and forwards
from 0 to 12. It's a little pricier than the other decks, but that's because it's complete! The box they come in has
dividers for “Mastered,” “Sort of Know,” and “Don’t Know Yet” which allows us
to keep them organized so we know which ones still need studying.
We just started this week
and it’s going well! He already knows
all of the x 0, x 1, and x 2 facts backwards and forwards, and he also knows
loads of others, but he still has a lot to learn with the higher numbers. My goal is for him to be able to recall answers
to all of them immediately. He had timed
tests in math class this past school year where he had to complete 50-60
problems in just four minutes, so his recall needs to be on point in case they
continue the timed tests next year.
Anyway, if you’re looking
for a COMPLETE set of multiplication facts, this is your deck! I have yet to see any others that are
complete.
F O U R – Morning Light
Our house faces north, so my
office rarely gets a lot of natural light.
However, for a couple of months during the summer, the light streams
through in the early morning and I love it so much. It’s short lived, but I’m enjoying it while I
can. And this picture doesn’t even do it
justice.
F I V E – Weekly Funnies
Here are the funnies for the
week!
Me, constantly. |
I don't have any issues with the sleep, but the messy house and being a little crazy? Check and check. Haha. |
All day, every day. These kids are going to eat us out of house and home! |
And in case you missed it, here’s what happened on the blog this week… I did a lot of beach recapping! EEK! It's been so fun to relive our trip!

I loved that dress from your 30A post - super cute! I never think to look at Kohl's - there isn't one super close, but I may have to change that! Your office looks even prettier in the light!
ReplyDeleteMorning light feels so great! That striped dress is pure perfection on you. Have the sweetest weekend beautiful. xo
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry to hear about Olivia being sick...that's no fun in the summer. Great picture of your office. Goals!! Have a wonderful weekend! Tanya - The Other Side of the Road
ReplyDeleteThanks for the details on the dress! I have a Kohl's credit so I might have to get one!
ReplyDeleteLove the summer sun into your office. You just have the cutest finds for dresses.
ReplyDeleteLoving that striped dress on you. I'm all about light coming in and don't get near enough to tickle my fancy. We have very similar striped curtains, and I love them!!! Those memes about telling the truth totally made me chuckle.

Well those memes about parenting are so true! I adore your office - so cheery and happy! xo, Biana -BlovedBoston
ReplyDeleteThat striped dress, LOVE! What bra do you wear with it? Just wondering if there is something better out there. Also the funny with the snacks, so freakin' true! Need to get those cards still for Baby Fox, wondering if they teach multiplication like they used to when we were little with all of this common core stuff!
ReplyDeleteI love those dresses. I have some Kohls cash and some gift cards that I need to use. Love those shorts. I love that morning light!!!
ReplyDeleteI hope Olivia is feeling better! Ear infections are no fun. That striped dress looks so cute on you! I'm such a sucker for natural light. Hope you all have a great weekend! Sierra Beautifully Candid
ReplyDeleteLove that those cards have dividers so you can keep track of what they know! That's fabulous. I used to teach my kids one set of facts at a time (until they could master each set in a minute) then shuffled them up and had them try mixed facts. I always started with 0, 1, 2, then 5, 10, 11, 4's ending with the "harder" 3, 6, 9 (teaching them ALL the 9's times table tricks) and then just review the few "new" facts in the 7 & 8 tables.
ReplyDeleteAh, thank you so much for the information! This is good stuff right here! I'm going to try this method!
DeleteThat dress is MEANT for your adorable figure! It looks so good on you, and yayyyy for Kohl's cash! I always forget about Kohl's. It's only 20ish minutes from me, but for some reason it's completely out of sight, out of mind. I know people who swear by their deals though and get everything there!
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love that dress -- it looks so comfy, and yet so cute! Hope your weekend is going well, xo
ReplyDeleteLove that dress! I am still on the hunt for the perfect cut offs! HA
