Easy Taco Dip

This recipe has been a favorite in our family for nearly two decades.  My mom used to make it every year for New Year’s Eve and I have the fondest memories of hanging out at home and munching on this delicious dip while waiting for midnight to strike to ring in the new year.  This dip was something that I looked forward to every single year!

This is easy peasy to make and it’s also really versatile… if there’s something you don’t like, just take it out and throw something else on there instead.  This version I’m posting doesn’t contain meat, but you could easily throw on some ground beef or shredded chicken on there to take it to a whole new level.

Use It

Large serving platter

Buy It

8 oz. Container Sour Cream (or you can substitute with plain Greek yogurt for a healthier option)
1 packet Taco Seasoning
1 bag Shredded Lettuce
1 Tomato, chopped
1 bag Shredded Cheddar Cheese
1 bunch Green Onions, chopped
4 oz. can Black Olives

Make It

1.    Combine sour cream and taco seasoning until smooth and spread on the bottom of a serving platter.
2.    Layer lettuce, tomato, cheese, green onions, and black olives over the sour cream mixture.
3.    Refrigerate for at least one hour before serving.  This gives the sour cream/taco seasoning a chance to set which brings out the flavor.
4.    Serve cold with tortilla chips.

This is the perfect easy appetizer to take to get-togethers and parties and it’s also perfect for Cinco de Mayo which is right around the corner!
