Rothy’s Shoes Review… Why I Love Them

I’ve been a ballet flats kind of girl for years, and I’ve always had a really hard time finding flats that are comfortable, that don’t slip off of my heels, and that hold up longer than a couple of years.  Several bloggers I follow have raved about Rothy’s for years, and after hearing about them for the first time, I immediately added them to my wish list but just never pulled the trigger because I just could not get over how expensive they are.

I’ve had them on my birthday and Christmas wish lists for the last couple of years but never received them, so I finally decided late last year to treat myself instead of wasting another $20 on flats that would likely be uncomfortable and wouldn’t hold up very well.  I’ve had my Rothy’s for a couple of months now, and I can honestly say that they DO live up to the hype and so far they have been worth every single penny.

Rothy’s are sustainably crafted… from plastic water bottles.  I know… sounds SO weird for a shoe to be made from plastic water bottles, but they are so dang comfortable, y’all!!  As a matter of fact, Rothy’s specifically markets their shoes as “the most comfortable shoes in your closet.”  There is zero break-in period, so they are comfy straight out of the box.  And because they’re made from plastic water bottles, the entire shoe is machine washable… that was the biggest selling point for me!!

To wash them, all you do is remove the insoles and then place the insoles and shoes in the washing machine on the cold, delicate cycle.  Once they’ve been washed, let them air dry, and then they’re like brand new shoes again.  Because they’re sturdy and machine-washable, they hold up for ever and ever, so that makes them worth the money to me.

Rothy’s come in many different styles – ballet flats, squared-toe flats, pointed-toe flats, loafers, no-lace sneakers, lace-up sneakers, Mary Janes – and they are offered in tons and tons of colors and patterns so there’s something for everyone.  Here are a few of my favorites...

The Flat in Captoe Black

The Point in Blush

The Loafer in Navy Plaid

The Mary Jane in Sapphire

The Square in Black

I opted for The Flat in Cheetah because I wanted to start with something fairly neutral that could be worn with most anything so I could get my money's worth.  I figured, the cheetah print is brown and black, and therefore could be worn with brown accessories as well as black.  Make sense?

In the reviews, many people state to size up 1/2 a size, and that’s what I did to start.  However, I still found them to be slightly too small, so I ended up exchanging them for a full size up from what I normally wear.  One full size up ended up being perfect for me.  Rothy’s will keep their shape forever and will never stretch, so it’s important that they fit comfortably straight out of the box.

Rothy’s allows you to try the shoes (on clean floors inside), and if they don’t fit right, you have 30 days to return or exchange them.  Shipping and return shipping are both always free, so there’s no risk to try them.  I had the absolute best experience when I had to exchange mine… it was easy and free.  I did have an issue with my referral code when I did the exchange, but their customer service was impeccable, and the issue was solved right away.

Rothy’s also offers a referral code for $20 off of your first pair if you use my link.  When you use my link, you’ll get $20 off of your first pair, and I’ll receive $20 towards another pair of Rothy’s.  Once you have purchased your first pair, you will then be able to generate your own referral link to share with your friends and family, and you’ll get $20 from Rothy’s each time your referral code is used.  If you’re interested in getting $20 off of your first pair, feel free to drop your email address in the comments, or you can email me directly at lindsayssweetworld@gmail.com and I’m happy to send it to you.

Reasons why I love my Rothy's so much:

-       They are SO comfortable.

-       They don’t slip on my heels.

-       They are fully machine-washable!!!!

-       They have zero break-in period and are comfortable straight out of the box.

-       They will never stretch or lose their shape so they will always fit the same.

-       They will hold up over a long period of time.

-       They are sustainably made.

-       They give a polished look to any outfit.

-       They have excellent customer service.

-       Shipping and return shipping was free.

-       I was able to get $20 off of my first pair from using a friend’s referral code.

-       I am now able to receive $20 from each referral to put towards another purchase.

I’m so dang glad I finally spent the money to buy these, and I’m already scouting out my next pair.  ;o)

    1. That was most definitely the main selling point for me! All of my other flats always get so gross since I wear them with no socks, so washable is a game changer!
