Holiday Gift Guide for Kids Ages 4-12

This gift guide for kiddos ages 4-12 is right up my alley since both of our kiddos fall in this age range.  Today I’m going to be sharing some of their all-time favorite things as well as some items on their wish lists.

1 – Cuddle and Kind Dolls

I’ve already mentioned these dolls in my list for kiddos under 3, but both of our kids still love a stuffed animal at ages 10 and 7, so I thought I’d include them on this list as well.  Each of these dolls is hand-knit, and the details on every single doll are beautiful.  They are a bit pricey as far as stuffed animals go, but all Cuddle and Kind products are fair trade, and for each doll you purchase, 10 meals are provided to children in need.  I absolutely adore their mermaid line.  They are so whimsical and perfect for any sea-creature loving kid!  But they also come in dozens and dozens of other characters/animals so you can find something that each of your kids love.

2 – Scooter with Light-Up Wheels

These scooters are perfect for younger kids just learning to ride because of their wider, sturdier bases, AND the wheels light up on this one… I mean, what kid wouldn’t want that?  They come in an array of colors and they are highly rated at 4.6 / 5 stars with over 2,000 reviews.

3 – Marble Run Set

Our kids have had one of these marble run sets for years, and they still play with it to this day.  This 150-piece set can be built in countless ways, so your kids can create something new every time.  It also comes with step-by-step guides for specific builds.

4 – TeeTurtle Reversible Octopus

Each of these plush reversible octopi flip back and forth between two different colors/expressions.  They come in 21 different colors/expressions so there’s something for everyone.  Apparently, they were featured in a viral TikTok video, so they’re currently all the rage in the fifth grade at our school.  They have nearly 46,000 reviews and 4.8 / 5 stars, so you know they’re legit!  Both of our kids purchased one of these with their own money a few weeks ago, and they’ve been carrying them everywhere since!  They are well-made, super soft, and so dang adorable!

5 – Paint by Sticker Book

These Paint by Sticker Books come in tons of different themes and they are perfect for keeping kiddos busy anywhere – at home, in the car, at appointments, etc.  Olivia loves them and she’s already gone through a couple of these books.

6 – Color Your Own 3D Puzzle

I stumbled upon these Color Your Own 3D Puzzle sets when I was browsing Amazon for Christmas gifts for our kids.  The pieces come in flat sheets, so they can be colored first, and then you pop the pieces out and put them together to make 3D shapes.  These are so cool!

7 – Lego Classic Set

Both of our kids love all things Lego, and while everyone loves a good themed set with step-by-step instructions, I think the magic is in the creativity of building your own items!  This Lego Classic set comes with 790 pieces in a rainbow of colors, shapes, and sizes, so your kids can build anything they can dream.

8 – 3D Printing Pen

This was another AWESOME find that I came across when browsing Amazon – it’s a 3D Printing Pen!  What?!  Your child can use this pen to bring to life anything that they can imagine.  The pen has an adjustable feed that allows you to regulate speed and flow so your child has complete control over their design.  The temperature is also adjustable for fine-tuning.  This pen has over 7,000 ratings on Amazon with 4.4 / 5 stars, and the things people in the reviews have created are just insane!

9 – Fidget Cube

Jacob recently bought this fidget cube and he loves it.  It has six sides, and each side has a different feature – click, glide, flip, breathe, roll, and spin.  It’s small, so it fits perfectly in the palm of a hand, and it’s also relatively discreet.  I’ve held it a bit, and I do have to say that several of the different features are super satisfying.

10 – Taco vs. Burrito

I’ve been seeing this strategic card game everywhere, and the reviews for it are awesome – everyone says it’s hilarious.  The game is for kids and adults, so it’s something that the family can all play together.  It’s currently on sale for $19.99, and Amazon has an additional $2 off coupon that you can apply right now, too, bringing it down to just $17.99.

11 – Imagine Ink Books

I’ve mentioned these Imagine Ink books on the blog so. many. times. but they are just that good.  They are Olivia’s most favorite thing EVER and she wants all of them for Christmas.  There are dozens and dozens of different ones, including most Disney characters, some Nickelodeon characters, and various other characters.  The pages in each book are black and white to start, but it comes with a special “magic ink” marker that changes all of the pages to color, revealing new things on each page.  These are the perfect thing for your child to take along with them in the car, because the “magic ink” is clear and won’t stain.  It’s a win for you and a win for them as well!

12 – Magic 8 Ball

Magic 8 Balls are making a comeback, and our kids will each be receiving one for Christmas.  It was the first thing they asked for this year!  Ask the Magic 8 Ball a question, shake it up, and then flip it over to find out your destiny.  ;o)

13 – Ultimate Weird But True Book

Our kids checked out their first Weird But True book from the library this summer, and they’ve been obsessed ever since then.  Each book contains loads of random facts that are so off-the-wall and strange, it’s hard to believe they’re true.  These books come in many different themes – sports, animals, Halloween, gross stuff, Christmas, etc. – so there’s something for everyone.

14 – Stomp Rocket

Always a favorite, the Stomp Rocket makes a great gift for boys and girls of all ages, and the best part is, it gets them outside and encourages them be active.  Our kids have had their Stomp Rocket for years, and they still pull it out to this day.

15 – Gravity Maze

My parents gave this Gravity Maze game to Jacob a couple of years ago and he loves it.  From Amazon, “Gravity Maze is a combination logic game, marble run, and STEM toy that’s one of the best gifts you can buy for boys and girls age 8 and up.  It contains 60 challenges from beginner to expert, a game grid, 9 towers, 1 target piece, and 3 marbles.”  It’s a single-player toy, but it can be played with multiple people as well.  With more than 23,000 reviews and 4.6 / 5 stars on Amazon, it’s another winner!

Happy Monday, y’all!

  5. I got my daughter that 3D pen a couple years ago and she loved it. When she had to go to the ER for stitches in her finger, they gave her one of those paint by sticker books and she loved it! I may take a look at those for her. I need to check out that Taco vs Burrito game. I always like to get one new game each holiday season!
