Hey y’all, happy Friday! We are still dealing with an arctic air blast here in the south, so the plan for this weekend is lots of hibernating. ;o) We don’t have much going on this weekend other than church Saturday evening and dinner with my parents on Sunday evening, so we plan to stay inside the rest of the weekend and tackle some more decluttering and house cleaning.
I do still have a walking goal to meet for the month, though, so that should be interesting… I guess I’m just going to have to bundle up and head out into the cold to get those last few miles in. Wish me luck!
As always, I’m sharing some favorites from the week, and on this chilly Friday, I have some good stuff for you, including a few Valentine’s Day suggestions… it’s right around the corner!
O N E – Fancy Apple
Watch Band
Back in December, a cashier was wearing this watch band, and I fell in love immediately and asked her where she got it. She said it was from Altar’d State, so naturally, I got back to the car and found it immediately. I was super bummed at the expensive price point, so I did what I always do when I don’t want to pay a premium price for an item… I searched on Amazon for a look-alike!
And a look-alike I found! This watch band is STUNNING – even more beautiful in person – and it only costs a small fraction of the price of the one on Altar’d State. Every link is removeable so you can adjust yours to the perfect fit, and although, it’s a little awkward to get on and off at first (until you beat the learning curve), it’s completely worth it because it looks ah-maaaazingggg on. I have only worn mine a few times, but I’ve been complimented on it every single time. I cannot stop looking at it every single time I’m wearing it.
T W O – Room Lights
We purchased these lights for Olivia’s bedroom, and for just $9.99, we got 130 feet of lights, all on two plastic strands. They plug into the wall so we don’t have to worry about batteries, and you can control them with the remote control (included) or via the app on your phone or tablet (for free). They are completely customizable – the color (you can choose from 16 million colors on the app), the movement (blinking, chasing, jumping, fading, static, breathing, etc.), the speed of the movement, the brightness, and so much more. You can sync them to music or to the sound of your voice, and they have smart timer settings with auto-shutoff and on. They’re made from similar material as a tape measure (the ones that you can wrap around your body), so you can pretty much put them anywhere!
I don’t think I’ve ever been so impressed with the technology in one small $10 item. Olivia is completely and utterly obsessed with them – she has them on all the time when she’s in her room now, and she’s texted pictures and videos of them to every single person she knows. Haha.
Right now, we have them wrapped around her bed headboard and footboard, but we still have more than half the footage left for her to use somewhere else in her room eventually.
T H R E E – Heart Pajamas
These heart PJs are the perfect gift for Valentine’s Day, and they come in extended sizes, so they fit tweens through adults. We don’t do much for Valentine’s Day, but we always give the kids a small gift and a card, and I know Olivia is going to be so excited to receive these! I purchased the XXS for her and they look like they should be the perfect size! They come in many other patterns, too.
F O U R – Valentine’s
Day Cards
And speaking of cards, here’s your reminder that Amazon has a million different choices for greeting cards for all holidays and events!! I’ve gotten to where I purchase most of mine there rather than at brick-and-mortar stores, because I can find exactly what I’m looking for on Amazon right away, while in the store I have to pick up, read, and put down cards over and over again until I find something I like. Prices on Amazon are comparable to what you would pay at Walmart or Target, and they have some really cute and funny ones for kids! I love this one!
F I V E – Valentine’s
Day Favors Idea
This will be the first year ever that we didn’t have to purchase Valentine’s Day favors for either of the kids as Olivia entered middle school this year, and it makes me a little sad. Although, it is kind of nice to be able to take one thing off my plate… and to not have to spend the money. ;o)
If you are still shopping for Valentine’s Day cards and favors for your kids, though, might I suggest these for all the Wicked fans? Olivia’s friends got a kick out of these last year!
