Five on Friday - Fall and Halloween Goodies, New Christmas Book, and Other Random Goodness

Well, our school’s fall carnival was supposed to have been today, but we had to reschedule it due to yucky weather.  It’s a bummer that the weather didn’t cooperate, but on the bright side, it did give me a bit of a break in what was supposed to have been an insanely busy week.  We’ve rescheduled for November so fingers crossed the weather cooperates the next time.

Let’s get to some favorites, shall we?

O N E – Fall and Halloween Amazon Goodies

I know I talk about Amazon on here a lot, but I just can’t help myself because it plays such a big role in our lives.  I mean, they literally have everything, almost everything I come across is cheaper on Amazon than anywhere else (including Walmart), and they have free two-day shipping… and in my case lately, free next-day shipping.  It truly doesn’t get any better than that.  Because of all of these benefits, any time we’re in need of anything I turn to Amazon first, so I have come across some pretty great stuff over the years.

I’ve been an Amazon affiliate for several years now, and I was also accepted into the Amazon Influencer program a few months ago, so I’ve been adding all of my great finds to my storefront.  I’ve found some awesome stuff for fall and Halloween here recently, so I thought I’d share my storefront with y’all again today in case you are looking for some inspiration.

T W O – New Christmas Book

The Shopaholic series by Sophie Kinsella is one of my favorite book series ever.  I just love the protagonist, Becky Brandon (nee Bloomwood).  She’s soooo frustrating a lot of the time, but she’s incredibly loveable and relatable, and I’ve laughed out loud many times at her shenanigans.  I just got a notification from Amazon that there’s a new book in the series and it’s…

CHRISTMAS SHOPAHOLIC!!!!  EEEEK!

Y’all know I’m a Christmas freak, so reading a book from one of my favorite series in a Christmas setting is going to be so fun!  I can’t wait to catch up with Becky and get lost in her world again, especially during my favorite season of the whole year!  The book is on my short list since I’ll be wanting to read it in December.

If you’re looking for an easy and fun (and Christmasy!) read, I’m sure this one won’t disappoint.

T H R E E – I Love You Because…

One of the first pins I ever saw on Pinterest when I joined back in 2012 was an “I love you because…” board.  It was one of the very first Pinterest projects I ever crafted for our home, and we’ve had our board in the kitchen for years now.  B and I used it a lot in the beginning, but as with most other things, the novelty of it eventually wore off.  We used it less and less over the years and eventually stopped using it altogether.

It sat blank on the kitchen counter for a couple of years until B brought it back to life out of the blue a few months ago, this time to track countdowns for fun events like our beach trip, Jacob’s birthday, and our mountain trip.  Earlier this week, I got home from dropping the kids at school and going to the gym, and I was surprised to see this:

It just made my day.  I mean, he complimented me and he did it in a festive way!  If that isn’t the key to my heart then I don’t know what is!  Also, please note the festive Halloween letters/shapes… the pumpkin O and the bat W.  Lol.  I didn’t notice that the first time I looked at the board (in my defense, the letters are very small so it was hard to tell) so I thought I’d point it out to all of you so you don’t miss it.  That’s good stuff.

F O U R – At-Home Pumpkin Spice Latte Recipe

The PSL from Starbucks is one of my favorite coffee drinks of all-time, and I’ve always wanted to be able to duplicate it at home… bonus points if it’s a healthier version!  Well, my friend Emily at A Little Bit of Emily put a recipe on her blog this week for an at-home PSL, and it sounds delicious!  I’m intrigued because she uses a pumpkin spice syrup instead of a pumpkin spice creamer.  I’ve never found an at-home creamer that I love, and it’s just genius (and healthier) to use syrup instead!  I haven’t tried it yet, but the syrup is in my Amazon wish list ready to go!

F I V E – Jen Aniston Breaks Instagram

So last week, Jennifer Aniston joined Instagram.  Emily texted me to let me know about her first post because it was a picture of…

HERSELF WITH ALL FIVE OF HER FRIENDS COSTARS!!!!

Friends is my favorite show of all-time and I’m positive that no other show will ever beat it in my book, so I almost died when I saw it.  (Dramatic much?)

I immediately went to Instagram to follow her, but IG kept glitching and the follow button in her bio wouldn’t work.  I kept trying throughout the day, but it glitched for hours.  I was finally able to follow her later that evening only to see that she had posted an Instagram story of herself with…

DAVE MATTHEWS!

Dead.

(Y’all know DMB is my favorite band ever, too, right?  I mean, hello, my blog is named after one of their songs!!)

But anyway, Monica and Chandler and Rachel and Ross and Phoebe and Joey together and Dave Matthews all in the same day??

Jen, I bow down to you.  You win Instagram.

Now for the Friday funnies…

One of my favorite scenes of the entire series.  Pure gold.

Hahahaha.  WHY is this so true?

Yep.

Pretty much!

And ICYMI, this week’s blog posts…

Happy Friday, y’all!
