Two Years with My Simplified Planner + 2021 Planner Launch is Today!

Happy Simplified Planner launch day!  Today is the day that we get to order our planners for the new year!  Cue all the confetti!

I think we can all agree that 2020 has looked nothing like anyone thought it would, and I’m hoping that 2021 is going to look much better.  Little did I know when I ordered my planner back in 2019, that all of the events for the coming year would eventually be crossed out only to have the remaining blank spaces filled with Zoom meetings for our kids’ virtual learning.  #Crazytown

I’m praying with every fiber of my being that 2021 will look a little lot more normal, but even if it doesn’t (sigh), I’ll still be needing a new planner… I’ll have to have some way to keep track of all of the kids’ Zoom meetings.  (I cringe even typing that.)

It’s no secret that Emily Ley’s Simplified Planner is my favorite planner of all-time.  As I’ve mentioned before, I’ve used At a Glance, Sugar Paper, Erin Condren, and Plum Paper planners in the past, and while they all had their pros and cons, none of them were perfect.  Enter the Simplified Planner… it’s my planner soulmate.  Dare I say it’s perfect?

Yep, I’ve been using the SP for two full years now and I wouldn’t even consider switching to anything else.  It’s everything I’ve ever needed in a planner and absolutely nothing that I don’t.  I utilize every single page in this thing, and there is not a single thing I would change about it.

It has room for all of our family’s appointments, meetings, date nights, extra-curriculars, birthdays, and anniversaries, and it also has room for our daily schedule, daily to-do lists, and meal plan.

The planners are high quality, they come in an array of gorgeous designs, you can choose between a daily and a weekly layout (I love the daily), and the paper is luxurious and thick so my favorite Pilot pens that I’ve been using since high school do not bleed through.

I could not live without this planner.  Our entire lives are in this thing.

Each daily edition planner features the following:

January – December (one day per page + shared weekend pages)
Each daily page has:
-       Hourly schedule 6 AM to 9 PM
-       To-Do section for 16 items
-       Blank section to jot notes/meal ideas
Full month views
Thick, 70 lbs. pure white Mohawk Via paper
4 notes pages
4 pages of Simplified prep-work to help you plan your year
Colorful stickers
Hard cover with gold foil details
Protective gold corners
Inside pocket
Colorful, sturdy tabs for each month

And Emily Ley and her team also offer numerous accessories you can purchase to use with your planner… mini notebooks, stretchy bands to keep everything together, pens, notepads, stickers, magnetic page markers (I love these!), washi tape, planner pouches, and adorable paper clips shaped like hearts, stars, coffee cups, and more.

This will be my third year using the Simplified Planner and I love it so much I haven’t even bothered to see what else has popped up on the market because this one suits my needs so well.  I have been blogging about this planner for years, and you can see all of the posts below including how I use my planner and why I love it so much.

If you’re longing to get your entire life organized, I highly recommend the second post.  It’s very detailed with every step that I took to get myself totally organized, and I love my system so much that I’m still using it today.  It’s a lot of work up front, but it’s so worth it in the end.  That post went viral on Pinterest shortly after I posted it, and it’s currently generating more traffic for my site than any other post.

The Simplified Planners for the 2021 calendar year will be on sale today at 10 AM EST, so if you’re interested in snagging one, today is your day.  Many designs sell out very quickly, so if you have your eye on one, you’d better be on there at 10 AM sharp.  You can get yours here!  And they do offer a weekly edition for those of you who don't need an entire page for each day.

I’ll see y’all there!  I’m going with Happy Floral this year… look how pretty!

  3. I'm not sure about this planner with each day being a page, I don't know that I need that much space, lol!

  5. I am OBSESSED with planners -- literally live by mine! And everything has to be *written*, none of this new-fangled phone calendar stuff. ;) lol! So glad to read your review of the Simplified Planner. It's one I haven't tried but I love following them on IG! I'll have to check it out.

  6. I switched back to Erin Condren this year. You and my sister both love your simplified and I wanted to love it, but mine started to fall apart and just didn't work for my needs. I am apparently rough with my stuff! But man, a planner like this is the best thing ever to keep you organized!

  8. I've actually been on the hunt for a good planner. As much as I love digital EVERYTHING, I still struggle putting my daily to-do's or appointments on a digital calendar. I tend to forget about them if I physically don't write them down. Thanks for the review and I'll definitely be looking into this!

  9. I love planners but they intimidate me because the really pretty and nice ones I don't want to make marks in and have them look messy and unorganized and the not pretty and nice ones just don't hold any appeal.

    1. Haha. Yeah, it is kind of intimidating when you first open it and there's all that clean, blank space. You just have to dig in and roll with it, though!

  10. I feel like a lot of people have said their planners went more to waste this year, but they will still buy a new one for next year. I only use a planner at work and even then I am bad about it. But I do love the beauty of the one you chose.
