Five on Friday - Sweater Dress, New Devotional, Skeleton, and the Best Flossers for Braces

Hey, y’all!  Happy Friday!  Honestly, I’m having a little bit of trouble being upbeat this week.  It’s been a tough one for me as I’ve been having more dizziness than ever since my physical therapy appointment last Friday.  I’m praying that my physical therapist can do something at my appointment this morning to help me, and I’m praying that whatever is done doesn’t make things worse this time.

I’m trying to be patient with this whole process since I know vertigo can be tough to treat, but after 52 days of this, my patience is wearing thin, and I’m starting to grow weary.  It’s been hard to have had such a major setback this week after having a pretty good week last week, and it’s starting to make me worry that this may never resolve.  I know I can’t think that way, so I’m trying to do every single thing I can to keep a positive attitude, but that has definitely been a struggle this week since I’m in a constant state of dizziness.  Hopefully it will pass soon, and until then, I’m just going to continue trying to fake it ‘til I make it.

Okay, enough with the yucky stuff… let’s get to some happy things from the week!

O N E – Sweater Dress

I have been a huge fan of sweater dresses for 20 years, and they have always been a staple in my closet.  When I worked at my corporate job, I lived in them during the winter, and I still love them for church and other events.  I’ve had this dress on my wish list for a while, so when I was alerted that it was on a lightning deal the other day, I couldn’t grab it fast enough.

I ended up getting THE BEST DEAL EVER on it and I still can’t believe it.  The list price on Amazon is $66.99 and it went on a lightning deal for $25.79, plus there was a coupon to clip for an additional 30% off, so I ended up getting it for just $14.39!!!!  Can y’all believe that?!  And the quality is ahhhh-mazing.  It’s thick and soft, and it looks even better in person than it does on the website.  It’s just beautiful in person and I can’t wait to wear it.  It comes in tons of colors, and I wish I could have them all!  Oh, and it's true-to-size... small was perfect for me!

T W O – New Devotional

I’m a huge fan of Emily Ley and all of her Simplified products, and I’ve enjoyed all of her books as well.  I just saw that she is releasing another devotional in October, this time, for meditations at night.  Her morning meditations book Sure as the Sunrise has been wonderful… I’ve been reading it here and there in addition to my other daily devotional, and I have been enjoying it.  If you’re looking for some comforting and encouraging words, then both of these books are for you.

T H R E E – Plackers Ortho-Pick

My orthodontist recommended the Platypus flossers when I got my braces and they are, hands down, the best flossers for people with braces.  However, I’ve only been able to find them on Amazon and they are suuuuper pricey, so I have been looking for other options.  Before I purchased the Platypus flossers for the first time, I searched around to see if there was anything comparable for a lower price, and there wasn’t.  However, earlier this week when I went to purchase more, I came across these Plackers Ortho-Picks.  They’re every bit as good as the Platypus flossers, but for a fraction of the price.  To compare, the Platypus flossers come out to $0.20 each, but these Plackers are only $0.08 each!  That is a price that I can get on board with, and I’m so happy to have found them.

F O U R – A New Buddy

My friend, Marie, at Over at Marie’s shared on Instagram earlier this week that Walmart has full-sized skeletons for just $29.97, and I couldn’t drive over there and grab one fast enough!!!!  I have wanted a full-sized skeleton for years, but I’ve never purchased one because they’re all $50 or more.  This skeleton is well-made, and it’s five-feet tall, so it’s a great size, but for an affordable price!

I buckled him into the front seat to pick up the kids on Wednesday, and they both thought it was absolutely hilarious.  They are so excited to have him, and they’re already having a blast posing him around the house.  Unfortunately, he’s sold out online, so if you want this exact one for this price, check your local Walmart.  Or you can grab this one from Walmart.com.  It’s $10 more, but it has red light-up eyes for added fun.  ;o)

F I V E – Taylor Swift Eras Tour MOVIE

Y’all!  Did you see Taylor’s announcement?!  They have made the Eras Tour into a movie, and it’s coming to a theater near you in October!!  Olivia wanted to go to the concert SO bad, but we couldn’t afford that many tickets, so I’m hoping to take her to this as the next best thing!  I’m in talks with a couple of friends who have girls in Olivia’s class, and we’re hoping to take all of the girls together for one of the showings.  And you can bet we’ll be dressing up, wearing our bracelets, and getting all good and glittery for it, too!  <3

  2. First I want to tell you that I read your title as new devotional skeleton, which is pretty funny! I love the skeleton though, too funny. Gabbie had a friend that rode around with one all the time! And if that first funny isn't me.... I hope you feel better very soon!
