Confessions {5.18.2017}

I confess…

… that life is completely crazy right now.  Is it just me or is end of the school year almost as crazy and busy as Christmas time?  Between end-of-the-year class parties and breakfasts with parents and summer birthdays celebrations and teacher appreciation gifts and end-of-the-year teacher gifts and preparing for assessments and preparing for graduation, Y’ALL.  It’s just insane!  And then throw in planning for Mother’s Day, planning for Father’s Day, B being out of town for a long weekend, scheduling people to keep Jacob for the week and a half after school gets out, booking our summer vacay, planning what to pack for said summer vacay, scheduling Maui for her shots so she can be boarded, booking her boarding, getting my hair done, and all of the other bazillion things that I have to do… GEESH.  I’m spent.  #CanIPleaseJustBeASAHM  I’m so ready to be lying on a beach chair by the ocean wearing this hat, which I finally ordered.  I couldn’t resist and I cannot wait to wear it!

… that I had another post planned for today, but I just couldn’t get it done yet again.  #SeemsLikeISayThatEveryTimeIDoAConfessionsPost

… that I almost decided not to do a post at all, but I just love this little space (and y’all, too) so much, that I just couldn’t bring myself to having dead air here on the blog even if for one day.  Every time I do, I miss the interaction!  #BlogBlogBlogBlogBlog

… that I don’t like unicorns.  I’m pretty sure from what I’ve seen in the blogging world that I’m the only one, but I have never liked them, not even when I was little.  They are kind of… cheesy, maybe?  This wall hanging has been everywhere in the blogging world lately and I just do not get it.  If I woke in the middle of the night to that thing hanging over my head, I think I would hightail it outta there, screaming my head off all the way.  I am just not interested in having an animal head hanging on my wall.  If I had wanted that, I would have married a hunter.  #NoThankYou

… that Instagram is driving me insane even more than ever.  They have changed their algorithm yet again and for a couple of days, I think I fell into a black hole.  My numbers didn’t move at all and for a minute there I was thinking I had been shadow-banned.  I haven’t, and things are starting to pick back up, but I am quickly losing interest in IG because it’s just so darn unstable.  #ChronologicalForLyfe

… that due to the algorithm change, I’m seeing less than ever of the posts I actually want to see.  As a matter of fact, there have been loads of people popping up in my feed who I have never even heard of.  Apparently I’m not the only one.  One of my favorite bloggers posted yesterday about how the same thing was happening to her, so she did a spring cleaning of who she was following and now she’s always seeing what she wants to see and she’s spending less time on there.  #Amen #IThinkIFeelASpringCleaningComingOn

… that I know I sound like a broken record mentioning Instagram in every post and I apologize.  Growing IG was one of my goals for 2017, so it has been a primary focus for my blog this year.  Apparently, IG is going to make me work really hard for it.  #Werk

… that I’ve already started planning what to pack for the beach and we’re still a few weeks away from our trip.  I mean, can you ever really pack too early? #InCaseYouWereWonderingNoYouCannot

… that when I was ten my family went on a two week road trip across the United States and I started packing two full months before we left.  #YouCanNeverBeTooPrepared #MyBestFriendStillMakesFunOfMeForThatToThisDay

Well, that’s a wrap!

Happy Friday Eve, y’all!  I hope you enjoyed these random musings instead of the dead air that almost was.

  1. I just said last week "May is the new December ". Life is so CRAZY right now and I am a SAHM so praise hands to you working mamas.
Your right you can never pack to early!!
I'm not so sure I understand the whole unicorn craze either.
I have about given up on all social media. I'm over all the games. Ain't nobody got time for that especially in May. 😉😉😉

  2. I really hoped to grow IG this year too. I just don't have hours upon hours to devote (nor money to pay for a service) so I'm not sure if it will happen. Have fun at the beach!

    1. Yeah, I refuse to pay a service for anything so I'm doing it alone. It is a LOT of work. It's working, but man, is it a pain sometimes!

  3. May is NUTS! I feel like my stress level is a whole new high during this month. I have so much to get done but not a lot of time to get everything done before school gets out. However, summer break is right around the corner.

  4. We aren't in school yet, so the 'craziness' hasn't hit, though I'm sure in a few years I will be feeling you!

  5. OMG the end of the year is nuts for us too!! And I've been such a bad blogger all week, me and Rick stayed up way too late every night binging 13 reasons why!!

  6. I agree about instagram! I got a direct message the other day from someone I never followed! It was for a lipsense account and she sent me a message that said "thanks for following me!" I don't follow you!!!!

I'm not so sure about the unicorn head thing either. Not really my style!!

  7. Life is so crazy right now. You're good with doing a post today, I just couldn't bring myself to get it together. I am also so annoyed with instagram. My feed was all messed up and I am now just seeing posts from three days ago, hashtags were down last night, and then the more I think about it I feel silly for even being bother by it because there are a lot of other things I could be spending my energy on. I love that insta was one of your goals because you are seriously crushing it! Beautifully Candid

  8. Your hat is super cute! I like the one that says, "Resting Beach Face!" That's 100% me! :) Ari's not really into unicorns but does love horses- the unicorn cakes are what's killing me- don't people think that the cake looks a little inappropriate with that thing plopped on the top?!

  9. I don't understand the whole unicorn thing either. You are not alone! I think I'm probably the only person on earth that doesn't have a instagram account. I've thought about starting one, but I don't want the headache and one more thing to obsess about. Maybe one day I will jump on board!

    1. I love Insta, don't get me wrong! But trying to grow on there is just IMPOSSIBLE! It is so hard since everyone is only out to play games.

  10. 1. We have that unicorn in my daughter's room -- ha! She is literally obsessed with unicorns, so they are EVERYWHERE.

    2. Don't panic over IG. Did you see the article early this week debunking the Shadow Ban? Apparently, IG is implementing something that detects what is pictured in your photos and might eventually phase out the hashtag?! It's looking like SEO for Instagram is a real thing. I can email you the article if you want to read more!

    3. YES to the beach. We leave pretty soon ourselves and I cannot wait. What beach are you going to?

  11. Yup things are crazy here too! And I need to pack for our summer trip!

  12. That I don't like unicorns, lololol. When I was 8 I had a pastel purple unicorn bedroom set. Funny, I don't remember liking unicorns then either. Happy almost Friday friend. OH!!!! Guess who finished ALL of the GG and the year in the life ones too!!!!

  13. I got a notification today that I could tailor who I saw on Instagram...I need to check into that. IG can be SO infuriating. :( This time of year is crazy here too - ah!!!! xoxo ERIN

  14. I'm not a fan of unicorns either!! I just don't see the big hype. Also, YES to IG getting all screwy again. It's getting harder and harder every day to try and figure that dang app out, haha! Happy Thursday, Lindsay!!

    1. I know, right?! It seems like every day they change something and I just can't keep up.

  15. I hate instagram too. I have people in my feed that I never followed either. So very weird. I had lost a bunch of people in one day too and then gained a ton the next day to get me up just a bit from where I was the day before. Ugh. I tend to pack a few days in advance. You are going to have so much fun on your beach trip!!!

  16. I don't understand the whole unicorn thing... maybe for 5 year olds?! ;) I haven't noticed anything weird on Instagram yet, but I've kept a pretty small profile. The thing that kills me is when someone posts a dozen pictures in a row. Just pick one!

  17. I've noticed that weird stuff with instagram, too! I cleaned house this weekend and am only following people I love or people who inspire me. And we have one of those unicorn heads :) Olive saw it in Target and LOVED it. haha

  18. I want to be a SAHM....but I don't necessarily want the kids here. lol It's been SO dang crazy this month here too. I'm hoping we will make it to the beach next weekend and chill. And yes...girl...IG...WTH...I definitely need to do some cleaning up!!

  19. It's been crazy around here too, so I can definitely empathize. That unicorn wall hanging is cheesy, to say the least.

    1. Haha. I guess it would be cute for a little girl who loved unicorns, but for some reason I just never got the memo!
