Five on Friday - Christmas Tree Collar, Front Porch Trees, and Favorite Things Tree

I usually have my monthly goals up the first Friday of each month, but this week has been so crazy that I haven’t had a chance to even think about my goals for December, so instead, I’m rounding up a few favorites from the week!

O N E – Christmas Tree Collar

We bought this Christmas tree collar last year, and it is just one of my favorite things!  Prior to this, we used a traditional tree skirt and it always looked sloppy.  The collar makes the tree look so much more polished and sophisticated, and it goes perfectly with the rest of the aesthetic in our living room.

T W O – New Front Porch Trees

We bought a set of two entryway Christmas trees 14 years ago when they were on super sale at Walgreens for Black Friday.  They sat on the front porch of our old house for the last two years we were there, and they sat on the front porch of our new house for 12 Christmases after that.  Needless to say, they were literally falling apart after last Christmas, and we most definitely got our money’s worth, so we tossed them last year.

I’ve been on the hunt for new ones ever since then, and I have to say that it is slim pickings this year for entryway trees!  Most of them either look terrible or they are SUPER expensive, so I ended up grabbing two of these from Michael’s on Cyber Monday while they were half off.

They are actually still half off as I type this, so I thought I’d share them with all of you in case you are in need of some, too.  These are four-feet tall, they are fluffy, and they are pre-lit, so you don’t have to deal with adding your own lights.  If you’re in need of entryway trees, these are great.

T H R E E – Favorite Things Christmas Tree Ornaments So Far…

I decided to start adding ornaments of some of my favorite things to my rainbow Christmas tree in my office this year, and these are the ones I’ve found so far.  Donuts are a favorite for sure, and this donut ornament from Target is the absolute BEST quality, and it’s only $5.  The glass of red wine ornament is also from Target and it’s also only $5, AND IT IS SO DARN CUTE!!

The rainbow ornament was an Etsy shop find and it shipped here all the way from Spain which I love.  The details on it are just gorgeous.  The Friends ornament was from The Friends Experience Store when B and I went back in July.  It’s no longer sold online, but this one is very similar.

And finally, I found this darling Moscow Mule ornament at Kohl’s, and I got it on sale, too, and it's still on super sale right now, marked all the way down to $3.74 from $9.99.

I also have a UGA ornament (I mean, we actually have like 20 of these – haha), a Lindsay’s Sweet World blog ornament that my momma and daddy gave me a few years ago, a Rae Dunn mug, and a couple of others that aren’t pictured here that will be on my tree this year, too!

F O U R – Favorite Things Christmas Tree Ornaments I Still Need to Get

Eventually, I plan to add ornaments for some of my other favorite things – Dave Matthews Band, a can of Tropicalia beer (if I can find one – LOL), a watermelon, a to-do list, a mirror ball, a charcuterie board, a pink heart, and so many others.

I already started browsing for some of those, and I came across this rectangular charcuterie board ornament that is absolutely to die for!  HOW cute is this?!  The details on this ornament are incredible.  I wanted to get one of these, too, but I’ve already bought five new ornaments this year, so I’m just going to wait until next year… hopefully it’ll still be available!

It’s been so much fun finding just the perfect ornament for each of my favorite things, and I’m looking forward to adding to my tree every year.

F I V E – Ed Sheeran/Elton John New Christmas Song

Did you guys see?  Ed Sheeran and Elton John released a new Christmas song today!!!!  My love for Christmas runs deep and so does my love for Ed Sheeran.  And, of course, Elton John is amazing, too.  So, when I saw they were teaming up to do a Christmas song, I was thrilled!  They’ve been teasing it all week, and I’ve been counting down the days.  And just when I didn’t think things could get any better, they went and redid a scene from Love Actually (my favorite movie of all-time) for the teaser.

I MEAN!!!!

Anyway, the song is out today and it’s all kinds of holly jolly for your Christmas!

Friday Funnies

No more complaining because it's officially Decemberrrr!

Well if this isn't the truth...

Hahahaha.  These made me laugh way too hard.

  1. I have been looking for new trees for our entryway and I am loving that collar in place of a tree skirt... but I'm just not sure I'm ready to part with my tree skirt yet. It took me nearly a year to make (when the kids were little I made us all felt stockings and wanted a tree skirt to match so I made one out of felt and cording and beads).

    1. Oh, I wouldn't part with that tree skirt, either! Too much sentimental value, and a family treasure for sure. You should just keep it!

  2. LOVE that tree collar. I have had my galvanized one for awhile now, but love the warmth/texture of a basket one. May need a refresh next year. :)

  3. I have that tree collar too and love it! Although, I said I wanted to switch and use it for our family room tree this year and forgot lol. Those ornaments are so cute and fun! Haha that modern day home alone is so true. I'm glad we lived in a timeframe where that didn't happen yet and we all get to experience such a great movie. Hope you have a great weekend!

  4. This tells me you are in the Christmas readiness mood! I love the modern Home Alone comics, that's so funny how different it would have been with what we have now.

  6. I saw those charcuterie boards somewhere and thought of you. So cute. I actually need and want trees for outside. I will send this to Rory as he wanted to make sure they weren’t crappy looking. I want a tree collar but does it work well with a real tree?
