Five on Friday - Target Spring Fashion, Swimsuits, and Braces Accessories

Happy Friday, y’all!  This week flew by, and I can’t believe the weekend is already here.  As always, I’m sharing a few favorites on the blog today.  Let’s jump right in!

O N E – Swimsuits

Target has been rolling out their new swimsuits for 2023, and they have some really great ones this year!  I saw this one in my local Target earlier this week and I couldn't snatch it up fast enough.  The colors and print are just stunning, and I love the ruffle details.  The top has full underwire and a lightly padded top for maximum support, and the strings criss-cross in the back and then tie underneath, which I absolutely love.  The bottoms are cheeky, but they are surprisingly not too skimpy.  I usually only wear full coverage bottoms, and these are close to full coverage.  They're super comfortable, too.  You can buy the top here and the bottoms here.  (And they cost less if you purchase them online!)

This one shoulder bikini is such a show-stopper!  I’m dying to get my hands on it, but it's already sold out in my size.  It appears that it will eventually be restocked, though, so I'm going to keep my eye on it.  I’m also considering how awkward the tan lines would be from it, so that gives me pause.  What do y’all think?  Yay or nay?

I don’t wear one-piece suits because I find them to be terribly uncomfortable, but if I did, this one would be in my shopping cart.  How gorgeous are the scalloped edges?!  And that bow in the front?!  LOVE.  I would love to see this in a two-piece version!

T W O – Target Spring Style

Target has also started rolling out their spring fashion and I’m loving it all so much!  A favorite from the line this year so far is this top.  With the eyelet fabric, the puffy sleeves, the sweetheart neckline, and the peplum hem, it gives aaaallll the feminine vibes!

T H R E E – Platypus Flossers

This probably won’t apply to many of you, but they have been a lifesaver since I got my braces, and therefore, they are definitely a favorite of mine from this week!  I have always used flossing picks similar to these, but obviously, now that I have braces I can’t use the traditional ones because they don’t fit between the arch wire and my teeth.  Well, my orthodontist gave me some of these Platypus flossers to try, and y’all, they are the absolute BEST.

Since one of the edges is flat, it fits easily between my teeth and the arch wire, and it makes flossing just as easy as it was when I didn’t have braces.  They are pricey, but they will be worth the money since they’ll keep me flossing as I’m supposed to.  If I had to weave traditional floss through the wire and do it the old-school way, I’m not even ashamed to say that it probably wouldn’t be happening very often.  Haha.

So, if any of you have braces or if you have kids in braces, I cannot recommend these enough!  They make flossing with braces an absolute breeze!

F O U R – Colgate Peroxyl Mouth Sore Wash

One of my biggest issues with braces is the sores I’m getting inside my bottom lip where the brackets are rubbing on my lips.  This mouthwash was recommended by a few different people, so I couldn’t grab it fast enough.  I’ve been using it since Monday and I cannot even tell you how much my lips have improved since then.  If you are one of the ones who recommended this – THANK YOU SO MUCH.  You are a lifesaver!

F I V E – Hot Cinnamon Sunset Tea

How many times could I possibly mention this tea on the blog?  Haha.  I have mentioned it numerous times, but it’s pretty much one of my favorite things every single day.  I can’t even tell you how happy my cup of hot tea makes me every morning!  I love it so much, I sometimes have a cup in the afternoon, too, especially this time of year when it’s cold.

I actually prefer this tea to coffee, and therefore, I’m rarely drinking coffee which is nice because my coffee is loaded with cream and sugar basically making it a dessert rather than a beverage.  I drink my tea straight with no cream or sugar or additives and it’s just perfect the way it is.  It’s also way cheaper than coffee, so it’s just a win-win!

  1. OH yes we had those platypus flossers too; I love that there are so many great products out there for people with braces now. I can't imagine how my sister did it back in the 80's. Though I do remember stealing her neon elastics and using them to make teeny tiny braids in my hair.

  3. So much goodness here! I actually prefer the tea to coffee as well and you asked me about the difference I checked on their website and they said there is no difference they just happen to package it two different ways and call it two different things but they are exactly the same. I feel like I want that white one shoulder swimsuit as well but I also worry about the Tanlines maybe it would be a day where I wear complete sunblock so I don’t get them from the one shoulder and the bow, lol.

  5. I love those cute bathing suits and the top. Good luck with the braces. I remember when I was a teen wearing braces and the cuts inside my mouth. Have a nice weekend.

  6. These swimsuits are all so pretty! I'm going on vacation later this year and need a couple of new swimsuits! I love the one piece (and can see it being pretty if they made it into a two piece too!).

  8. I am saving those flossers to my cart. Avery gets 4 braces in March and I am sure we will need these. Such cute swimsuits. I can't really do the one piece very well either.
