Our 2023 Huntsville Trip by the Numbers

I know you probably came here today expecting a weekly update, but we packed in a lot during spring break which means the post is going to take a while to put together, so today you’re just getting something short and sweet!

We took a quick trip to Huntsville last week to visit my brother and sister-in-law and their kiddos, so today I thought I’d recap our time there by the numbers as I always do!

48 – The lowest temperature while we were there.

83 – The highest temperature while we were there.  And that was for a very brief time the first day and then temps plummeted for the rest of the trip.

24 – Bottles of wine purchased at Trader Joe’s.  Y’all know we always have to stock up when there’s a TJ’s nearby!

5,544 – Steps walked on Thursday, Day 1.  That was a travel day, though, so we were in the car for quite a while.

10,084 – Steps walked on Friday, Day 2.  We toured NASA and the museum that day so there was a lot of walking.

7,274 – Steps walked on Saturday, Day 3.  Again, that was a travel day, so we were in the car for a long time.  The majority of those steps were walked when I got home and did all of the unpacking and laundry, etc.

1 – Beer consumed.

1 – Beer flight consumed.

2 – Margaritas consumed.

8 – Donuts consumed.

0 – Ice creams consumed.  Whaaaat?!  This is a first for vacation!!

12 – Macarons consumed.

14 – Chocolate chip cookies consumed.  (Brian had made a batch of homemade ones for my birthday, so we brought them along to enjoy as snacks in the car!)

1 – Time Olivia asked for snacks.  This is the lowest ever.  Lol.

30 – Feet long was the stalactite curtain at Majestic Caverns.  It’s one of the longest stalactite curtains in the whole world, and I believe they said it’s the longest one in the whole United States.

7 – Standalone arcade games that were in our Airbnb.

12 – Gaming systems that were in our Airbnb.  They had everything from the original Atari to the original Nintendo to the original Play Station… seriously everything!

1 – Time we were told we couldn’t take pictures or videos.  We were in Mission Control for the International Space Station, and obviously, we couldn’t take pictures and videos for security reasons.

363 – Feet long is the Saturn V rocket that we got to see at the U.S. Space & Rocket Center.  It.  Is.  HUMONGOUS.  I will be posting pictures, of course, when I recap the trip, and wait until you see my brother and SIL and the kids underneath it for scale.  It’s bonkers.

4.5 – Hours straight that it rained on the drive to visit Brian’s sister and on the drive home.  It literally never stopped raining the ENTIRE day Saturday, y’all.

122 – Pictures taken on the trip (and that total is after I deleted some of the bad ones).

41 – Videos taken on the trip (again, that was after I deleted the bad ones).

47 – Stories uploaded to Instagram.  Follow along in the “Huntsville ‘23” story highlight in my bio if you’d like!

Countless – Arcade games played in our Airbnb.

I’ll be recapping our entire spring break on the blog on Thursday, so stay tuned!  And be sure to bring a cup of coffee or tea or an adult beverage so you can settle in… it’s going to be a LONG one!  Haha.

Happy Tuesday, y’all!

  2. I can't wait to hear more about the airbnb...the coolest. The weather here has been crazy for this time of year. I had to actually wear a cardigan on Easter...chilly!
