Holiday Gift Guide for Kids Ages 4-12

Today’s gift guide is all about the kids and tweens!  I have a tween in my house right now, so this was a very easy list to compile.  ;o)

1 – Jellycat Hippo

These Jellycat stuffed animals are super popular right now and they come in so many different options.  Olivia loves purple, so of course, this purple hippo caught my eye.

2 – Emotional Support Capybaras

Have y’all seen all of the “emotional support” stuffed animals?!  They are theeee cutest things everrrr.  Olivia saw the emotional support dumplings at the store earlier this year and she couldn’t open her wallet fast enough.  There are so many different options – nuggets, fries, donuts, flowers, hot dogs, kitties, mushrooms, lattes, ghosts, and the list goes on and on.  Olivia’s favorite animal is the capybara – she is OBSESSED – and she doesn’t even know that these emotional support capybaras exist – so I cannot wait to give these to her at Christmas.  They are seriously the cutest things ever.  I cannot get over it.

3 – iPad Case

I know a lot of kids and tweens want an iPad, and you can’t give a kid an iPad without a good case.  This one includes a screen protector, and it is made from durable silicone for a shockproof, rugged design that protects from drops, bumps, and impacts.  It has a functional kickstand, and it comes in many different colorways.  It’s highly rated, and it’s way more affordable than most other cases.

4 – Rainbow Loom Kit

I have talked about this Rainbow Loom Kit numerous times here on the blog.  Olivia has been obsessed with hers for years, and pretty much every single person she knows has a custom-made bracelet from her.  I have an entire collection with something to match every outfit, and I wear one every single day.  <3  Not only can you make bracelets with this kit, but you can also make flowers, animals, and pretty much anything else that you can find a tutorial for.  Olivia has spent hours and hours with this kit and it’s probably one of her most played with items of all-time.  Endless creativity!

5 – Taylor Swift All the Songs Book

I just purchased this book because it was on super duper sale, and it is STUNNING.  The book is MASSIVE, and it is organized by album (in order) and by song.  It tells the story behind every single track all the way through The Tortured Poets Department album, and there is so much information in this book.  The presentation is beautiful, too – pages are thick and heavy, the cover art features sparkles, there are loads of photos inside as well as tons of information… the quality is just excellent and it’s an absolute must-have for every Swiftie.  It would be a beautiful addition to any coffee table or credenza.

6 – LEGO City Robot World Roller Coaster Building Set

For the Lego lover, this unique set features a buildable working three-car roller coaster train, LEGO minifigure accessories, and a detachable LEGO mech action figure.  We still love LEGO in our house!!  They never go out of style!

7 – Spoons

Did anyone ever play Spoons when they were younger?  Ahhhh, it was one of my favorite games ever, although we used to play it with a deck of cards and metal spoons from the utensil drawer – ha!  When I was browsing, I saw that there is an official game, and I couldn’t add it to this list fast enough!  It’s fun for all ages!  The perfect game to play together as a family!

8 – iPad

An iPad is at the top of Olivia’s list, so I couldn’t not include it on my list as I’m sure there are many other tweens and teens out there begging for one.  Everyone feels differently about electronics for their kids, and we’ve always been on the stricter side, so as always, you just have to do what’s best for your family.  iPads are a great way for kids without phones to keep in touch with friends in a safe way (so many parental controls!), and there are so many creative apps and games for kids to play during their allotted screen time.

9 – Sussed Card Game

We LOVE Sussed.  It’s a card game for all ages where you ask a question, decide what you would do, and then challenge your family and friends to see how well they know you.  It’s a great way to get to know each other better and it’s great to keep communication and dialog open, boost social skills, get to know one another better, and increase self-awareness... there are so many benefits!  And it’s FUN!

10 – Bruh T-Shirt

We hear this word numerous times a day in our house, so I think it’s safe to say that this shirt would be a hit with most kids in this age group.  Haha.  It comes in different colors and an array of sizes.

11 – The Woobles Crochet Kit

Have y’all seen these The Woobles crochet kits yet?  Olivia LOVES them.  Each kit comes with everything you need to make a small, crocheted character, and each kit comes with easy instructions that make learning a breeze.  There are tons of different Woobles kits, so there’s something for everyone.

12 – Bike Wheel Lights

How fun are these bike wheel lights?!  These are perfect for any kid on the go.  They’re easy to install, they come in lots of different colors, and they have an LED-weatherproof shield.  They have 48+ hours of battery life, and they make riding at night much safer and much more fun!

13 – Hover Soccer

This Hover Soccer game allows kids to experience soccer indoors.  It floats effortlessly on any smooth surface including wood, tile, and concrete making it easy to play soccer anywhere and anytime.  You can kick it, bounce it, and watch it glide… the perfect rainy day / cold day indoor game!

14 – Cake Pops Baking Set

This kit comes with everything your little baker needs to bake and decorate delicious cake pops.  All ingredients are fresh and pre-measured, and it comes with step-by-step instructions with kid-friendly illustrations and color-coded ingredients making it easy for any little baker to follow.

15 – Peachybbies Slime

Peachybbies Slime is, without a doubt, the most popular slime on the market right now.  It is everywhere.  Each kit has a different theme, and each kit has a different scent.  It’s made in the USA with the highest quality materials, and every kit is reuseable.  Olivia basically wants every single kit that they make, and this axolotl kit is surely to be a popular one this year as every kid seems to love an axolotl right now!

16 – Spirograph

I had a spirograph kit when I was little and our kids have had this exact kit for most of their lives.  We’ve had it in our playroom for at least 10 years, and they still reach for it to this day.  The designs and patterns you can make are endless and it’s a great way to spark creativity.

17 – Metal Detector

I came across this metal detector, and I thought it was such a cool idea!  It’s designed for kids so it’s lightweight, and it’s also simple to operate.  When a metal object is detected, LED and audio alerts let them know to look further.  And what kid wouldn’t want to go on a treasure hunt?!

And that wraps up today’s gift guide!  Happy shopping!
