Five On Friday

Three day weekend, three day weekend, can I get a what what!

We are heading to Atlanta for a little weekend getaway, so hopefully that will at least hold me over until we can take a real vacation later in the year.  I have a serious travel bug right now and I want to go to all the places, but gone are the days where B and I could just pack up and leave without any notice.

O N E

Well, I’ve gone and done it.  I had to go to Target for a few necessities yesterday, and I left with half of the Dollar Spot.  Their Valentine’s Day goodies were just too hard to pass up!  I had told myself that I was going to exercise restraint, but then I realized that I have zero Valentine’s decorations for our house, and I now have a big and easily accessible storage closet to store them in, so I caved.  Fortunately it was the Dollar Spot, and I only picked out a few things, so it didn’t remotely break the bank.

Anyway, this black and white striped pitcher has been in my Instagram feed repeatedly this past week, so I was excited to find out that it was one of those Dollar Spot items.

I also picked up these gold heart string lights for the mantle… they are my second favorite thing.

I’ll be using all of these goodies to dress up our mantle in the coming days and I’ll share it next week.

While I was at Target, I also picked up these Strawberry Shortcake M&Ms.  I try not to eat a lot of junk food, but I do allow myself to eat a little something sweet each day, and M&Ms are one of my favorite things because a small handful easily curbs my sweet tooth.  Typically, I eat the dark chocolate ones, but I always like to try the limited edition ones that they put out for the holidays.  These are really good, but they’re really sweet, so you can only eat a few at a time.

Since we’re already discussing sweets, I’ve been meaning to share these with you for the last couple of months, but it’s been so hectic that I haven’t remembered until now.  Very bad timing I know, as most people probably made some kind of resolution to eat healthier, lose weight, or get fit for the new year, but they’re just so good.  The perfect combination of salty and sweet, they satisfy both cravings at once!  Again, really rich, so you can only eat a couple at a time anyway.

To make up for the fact that I just made you gain ten pounds from merely looking at those, here is something that will help you lose weight and tone up.  I saw the Simply Fit Board on Shark Tank a couple of months ago and I was intrigued.  It allows you to strengthen your core without crunches or sit ups or anything that involves laying on your back, and since I still have back problems from my first delivery I struggle with traditional crunches.

Supposedly it slims your waistline, burns fat, strengthens your core, tones your legs, and it has no impact on your joints.

Sign me up!

I just received mine a couple of weeks ago, so I’ve only used it a few times, but so far I love it.  It really is easy to use, but at the same time you can feel the burn, so I think it’s working.  I guess I won’t know for sure for a while, but I will be sure to keep all of you posted.

Well, I’m off to work and then I’ll be basking in the glory of the three-day weekend.  Happy weekend!
