Olivia's Surgery

Morning, all and happy Tuesday!  I'm taking a little break from my home tour today because we've had such a busy weekend/week I didn't have a chance to get it all put together.

I did just want to pop in and thank everyone for the prayers, sweet texts, comments, and emails yesterday.  Olivia's surgery to put tubes in her ears was a success!

We arrived at 5:45 AM and had to wait for about two hours before they took her back.  The nurse gave her a big stuffed bear when we got there and Olivia immediately gave him a big ol' hug.  She kept herself occupied by playing with the bear, the Anna and Elsa cake toppers from her birthday celebration yesterday, and my makeup.  Oh, and we watched the Let It Go video on YouTube about twelve or fifteen times.  #Literally  #HowCouldIForgetThat

When the nurse came to get her for the surgery she let Olivia take Anna and Elsa back to the OR with her, so she didn't even cry when she left us.  The surgery was short - Brian and I were probably only in the waiting room for 10-15 minutes before the doctor came out and gave us the excellent news that everything had gone perfectly, and then we were whisked to the recovery room to see her.

When we arrived, the nurse was holding her, and she looked up and reached for me as soon as she saw me.  One of the nurses told me that she had been perfectly lovely.  She never even cried when she awoke from the anesthesia which is extremely uncommon.  They said that she just opened her eyes, looked around, and waited patiently until the nurse picked her up.

She was a bit groggy on the car ride home, but she perked up as soon as we got home and she was back to her normal little self in no time.  No grumpiness, no whining, no fussing.  It's just amazing how resilient little kids are.

She's definitely our tough little cookie, and we could not be more thankful that everything went well!  The best part is that we should hopefully not have to worry about ear infections anymore!  #ByeFelicia

Home Tour Tuesday will resume next week and I'll be sharing Jacob's bedroom.  I hope you enjoy your day!
