Fall Family Photos & Our Christmas Card

This year we decided to hire a photographer for our fall family photo session and it was the best decision ever!  In years past, we have had my dad take them, and while he’s always done a good job, the kids just don’t behave for him like they do for a complete stranger.  Imagine that!

Having a professional photographer made all the difference in the world!  The kids listened to her and did everything she asked, and they smiled the sweetest little smiles instead of those forced fake ones that they do when we’re making them take pictures.  We didn’t even have to bribe them with marshmallows like we have in years past!

And our photographer was just great!  She knew exactly what shots to take, she knew how to interact with the kiddos, and I feel like she captured exactly what I would have captured had I been behind the camera myself.  Aaaand it was nice to not have to sort through 300 pictures and then edit 75 of them.  Hiring a photographer was worth every penny.

I’m so in love with every single shot.  It was nearly impossible to cut any out, but I cut them down by nearly half for this post.  However, you guys know me, and you know that I am extremely liberal when posting pictures in my posts, so settle in, because there are still about forty here.  Haha.

And finally, now that the Christmas cards have been signed, sealed, and (hopefully) delivered, I can finally present our Christmas card for the 2016 Christmas season!  We used Shutterfly as we do every year, and as always they turned out beautiful.  I had to restrain myself from doing gold foil again… we already did it back in 2014, but it’s just so beautiful, I really wanted to do it again!  Maybe next year…

Happy Friday Eve!

  9. Your pictures came out sooo cute! I think that's what we need to do is just take the plunge and hire a professional. While my camera takes amazing pictures, you need someone who knows how to work it and be able to get pictures of all of us. Your kids are so adorable and your card came out great! Beautifully Candid
