Y’all!  At 12 PM today I will officially be off for summer for the first time in 20 years!!!!  And I will be off for the first summer ever with my babies!  I can’t even tell you how excited I am about this and I’m just so grateful for this opportunity.  We have a lot planned so we are really excited.

This week has been NUTS so I’m keeping it short and sweet today.  Here are a few faves…

O N E – Lemon Beach Towel… and it has POM POMS!

I was at Walmart picking up a few more bins for my organizing projects last weekend and these towels on one of the end caps caught my eye… it’s HUGE, it’s round, and it’s a lemon… with pom poms!  Not only is it cute, but it’s so soft!  If you’re looking for a beach towel, look no further than Walmart!

T W O – Jacob’s Summer Birthdays School Party

On Tuesday Jacob’s class had their class birthday party for all of the June and July birthdays.  They had cupcakes and a whole bunch of other goodies, and the whole class sang happy birthday.  Jacob and his friends had so much fun!  Lots of June and July birthdays!

T H R E E – A Day with Olivia

Around 3 AM Wednesday morning Olivia came down with a stomach bug.  She was already in our bed as she usually is by 3 AM each night, and she kept Brian and me up for the rest of the night.  Fortunately it had mostly passed by 6 AM and she was able to get some sleep, so I stayed home with her while B took Jacob to school because I just didn’t have the heart to wake her.

By 9 AM she was bright-eyed and bushy-tailed aaaand ready to party.  Apparently she was thinking that since we were not at school for the day, we might as well do a lot of fun stuff!

Lol.  She is such a mess, and I love her so!  Despite the circumstances, it was still nice snuggling with my jolly gal all day.  Although if I end up with this stomach bug I’ll probably retract that statement.  Haha.

F O U R – Jacob’s End-of-the-Year Class Party

Yesterday was Jacob’s awards ceremony and end-of-the-year class party.  The awards ceremony was first and Jacob got several awards yet again:

Principal’s List (All A's)
Religion Award
All Day Every Day Award
AR Goal Met Award
Top 5 AR Earners in his class

He received all five of these awards every single quarter this entire school year!  Another amazing quarter to wrap up another amazing year!  We are just so proud of him!

They followed the awards ceremony with a special lunch complete with Chick-Fil-A nuggets, chips, cookies, and lots of other yummy treats.  Only a half day today and he’ll officially be a second grader!

F I V E – Popular Blog Post

The other day I was checking my Google analytics for the first time in a couple of months and I noticed a huge spike in pageviews from just the last couple of days.  Well, it looks like this post I did about organizing all of your childrens’ school papers in one box (posted back in February) has suddenly taken off on Pinterest!!  I wouldn’t say it’s going super-viral yet, but it looks like it could be on its way!  It’s steadily getting about 1,000 pageviews per day now and it’s already made its way to my fourth most viewed post ever!  EEKS!  Apparently people love posts about organizing… I guess I need to do more of them!

And if you missed it, you can see the post here.  It’s extremely detailed, and yes, you can actually organize all of your kids’ school keepsakes (Daycare – College) in just one small box… even if you are a super sentimental person like I am.  If I can do it, you can do it.  I promise.  ;o)

But anyway, I just wanted to share that with all of you, because it made me really excited!  Definitely a win for the week!

And before I go, be sure to check out my post about cute beach floats from Wednesday if you missed it... so many cute ones to choose from!

Happy weekend, y’all, AND HAPPY SUMMER BREAK!!!!  WOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOO!

  13. Great job to Jacob for the end of the year. Olivia's illness sounds like what Simon had. The day after he had to stay home but he was totally fine. I was thinking of that blog post as I tossed out all of Zachary's math work from this year, including tests! No need to keep them! I have to organize everything else, including past year's things that I've kept though!
