Beer Bread

Yep, you read that right.  This is a recipe for homemade bread… and it has beer in it.  And it’s the best dang bread you will EVER put in your mouth.  My Momma has been making this recipe since I was teeny tiny and if I could only eat one bread for the rest of my life, this would be it, friends.

Y’all know I don’t share a lot of recipes here on the blog, so when I do, you know it’s going to be good!  The thing about this bread is that it’s also ridiculously easy – only four ingredients – and don’t worry, the alcohol evaporates while it bakes so it’s perfectly safe for little ones to eat.  Our kids actually had nice, thick slices a couple of weeks ago when my Momma made beef stew!

Buy It

3 cups self-rising flour
2 tsp. sugar
1 12 oz can of beer (my Momma always uses Coors Light)
1 stick butter, melted

Make It

1.      Mix first three ingredients together.
2.      Pour into a buttered loaf pan.
3.      Pour melted butter over the top.
4.      Bake at 375 degrees for 30-45 minutes.

Cut them into nice, thick slices, spread a little bit of extra butter on each slice, and experience heaven.  I promise if you like bread, you’ll be going back for seconds!
