Happy Friday, y’all! We have yet another crazy busy weekend on tap (so exciting and fun, though!), but y’all, I’m tiiiired. Thankfully, this is our last busy weekend for a couple of weeks, and I’m already counting down the days until next weekend because we will be celebrating Halloween on Friday and then doing LITERALLY NOTHING all day Saturday, November 1 except relaxing, watching football, and maybe starting to pull out the Christmas décor? Amen.
Until then, here are a few favorites!
O N E – Halloween Belt Bag
We always get a little something for the kids for Halloween (that is NOT candy), and I was having trouble deciding what to get for Olivia. We used to always get both kids the Lego Halloween set for the year, but Olivia doesn’t play with Legos anymore, so I grabbed this cute bag for her instead. It comes in white or black and it’s only $9.99. My girl loves to be festive, so this is something she’ll be able to use for years to come!
T W O – Lego 3-in-1 Spider
I came across this 3-in-1 Lego set, and it would make the perfect gift for Halloween for any Lego lover. This set makes a spider, a scorpion, or a snake, and it’s currently 42% off – only $7.50!!
T H R E E – Grocery Bag
Dispenser
We’ve had this grocery bag dispenser since we’ve been married – so for nearly 18 years – and it’s something I use almost every day and have never thought to post about. The other day I went to grab a plastic bag to put my raw chicken remnants in, and it hit me that I should share it with all of you because it’s such a simple but great product that we haven’t lived without for nearly two decades.
We have ours mounted on the wall in the closet under our stairs in the kitchen AKA the “trash closet” and it’s so convenient to have. While I do use reuseable shopping bags at the grocery store, we do somehow tend to accumulate various other shopping bags here and there, so we store them in this dispenser. I keep them on hand and use them for loads of different things – for raw chicken or vegetable remnants when I’m cooking, to bag up returns for stores, to transport items to other people, to hold items that I sell on Facebook and put on the front porch for people to pick up, etc.
It's wild how often I use it and never give it a second thought, but I thought I’d share it today in case any of you want to get a jump start on getting organized for the new year. This design is so sleek, and it holds up to 30 bags… and dispensing is easy via the slot in the front.
F O U R – Diane Keaton
We were on vacation when Diane Keaton passed away, and y’all, we have lost a lot of celebrities that have hurt over the years, but no loss has hurt me as badly as this one. Diane Keaton will always and forever be one of my favorite actresses of all-time – one of my favorite people – and she will be missed dearly.
Some of my favorite comfort movies are movies that she is in – Something’s Gotta Give, Father of the Bride 1 & 2, The Big Wedding, and countless others. She exuded elegance and grace, and she was such a good human, and I’m so very sad that we will never get to watch another new Diane Keaton film. I haven’t watched The Family Stone in a few years, but it is going to hit hard this Christmas.
F I V E – Fall Movie List
I saw this fall movie list on Instagram and wanted to share it because I thought it was comprehensive compared to other short lists I’ve seen. I’ve seen most of these movies, although there are a few I haven’t seen, and I’d also add Casper to the list as it’s one of my favorites from my childhood. ‘Tis the season for snuggling up on the couch by the fire and watching feel-good movies!
