15 Holiday Party Dresses Under $55

‘Tis the season for office parties, family get-togethers, and other holiday events, which means ‘tis also the season to shop for holiday dresses!  I’ve rounded up some of my favorites (one of which is already in my closet) to make shopping for all of your social events a breeze this season.

Red is probably my favorite color to wear this time of year, and not just because I’m a Georgia fan.  ;o)  It is the quintessential Christmas color and it also allows you to stand out in a crowd.  Add some cold-shoulder sleeves or some bell sleeves and you have yourself a dress that packs a serious punch.

Metallic dresses are probably my second favorite to wear because they scream party!  Sequins, glitter, silver, and gold… I never get tired of any of it!  I’ve always loved metallics and I was so excited to see them come back in style a couple of years ago.  I hope it’s here to stay for a while.

Not wanting to upstage the tinsel on your tree this year?  When in doubt, just go with a LBD.  You can never go wrong because black will never go out of style.  And with so many fits, cuts, and fabrics to choose from these days there are plenty of ways to spice up an otherwise basic dress.

I’m a huge fan of lace dresses and my favorite combo right now is a solid body with lace sleeves.  It just doesn’t get much more elegant than that.  That white dress with lace sleeves has already made its way to my closet.  I’ll likely be wearing it for Christmas, and if not Christmas, I may save it for Easter.  I will warn you, though, it runs short, so if you’re looking to wear it to church or somewhere conservative, be sure to order it in a tall.  I’m only 5’5” and I ordered a tall small and it still stops several inches above my knee.  I can’t even imagine how short the regular must be!  Thank goodness for good reviews on the website!

So tell me what you think… which dress is your favorite?

  1. Those dresses are all so pretty. If I had somewhere to wear one I would choose between those. I like the red or metallic for the holidays though.

  12. You are a lady after my own heart with these awesome finds - I love buying pretty party dresses, but it's always so hard to spend money on them, usually knowing I'll only wear them a little bit of the year. That navy shift dress is definitely my favorite!

  13. So pretty...all of them! I love the sparkle and glamour of the holidays. You look so great in red. I can't pull it off with my hair color, but I can sometimes make cranberry work! I usually go green for the holiday...or gold. I am always a fan of gold no matter what the season. Love your choices!
