Today is one of my favorite posts of the whole year! I go all out for my Christmas decorations and I absolutely love having this blog to document it all each year. It’s a big job putting everything up, so I often begin putting the smaller things up the week before Thanksgiving, and then we always get our main tree (always real) the day after Thanksgiving. Since it takes so long to get everything up, I like to have it all done as early as possible so we can enjoy them for as long as possible before it’s time to take them all down.

Since it takes so long to get everything up, I like to have it all done as early as possible so we can enjoy them for as long as possible before it’s time to take them all down.
Now, that said, many things
do not change from year to year so if you’re a long time reader some of this
will look familiar – the living room, our master bedroom, the kids’ rooms… I
did, however, change a few things up and I also added something new this year –
THE BAR CART! – and it’s my favorite part of the décor this year, hands down!
Okay, enough chit chat, let’s
just let the pictures do most of the talking.
Welcome to our winter
wonderland!
The front of the house didn’t
change from last year, so everything looks pretty much the same… two trees
flanking the front door, the lighted garland, that beautiful red wreath on the
door, and wreaths with red bows on all the windows…
When you walk in the front
door this is the first thing you see – the foyer and our staircase!
Looking to your right is the
formal dining room. Nothing changed in
here from last year either. I loved
everything last year so much that I decided to duplicate it this year. I like to call it my winter wonderland room!
Our living room has been
decorated pretty much the exact same every year since we moved in here in 2009. All of the decorations are just so perfect I
don’t see any reason to change them.
Although next year I think I’m going to add some deco mesh to the tree
to give it a bit more depth.
Moving into the kitchen, we
have the table which is also decorated the same as last year. However, the kitchen has several new changes
and additions from last year. I found
that buffalo plaid Christmas banner in the Target Dollar Spot and I had to have
it, but I didn’t really have a place to put it, so it’s just hanging out over
the kitchen window. I put my Joy sign on
the counter where I do most of our food prep so I have something festive to
look at while I’m cooking. :o)
I also added a coffee
station to accompany my new Keurig, and I decorated it with some festive
Christmas mugs and paper coffee cups, also from the dollar spot.
The letter board is a new
addition this year as well, and I put one of my favorite bible verses about the
birth of Jesus on it. Next to it is a
yummy Cinnamon & Clove Bud candle… it is the absolute perfect scent for
Christmas! A couple of festive hand
towels are draped over the stove and my Merry Mail Christmas card holder that I
made last year is hanging on the door under the stairs again.
I decided not to put out our
collection of Christmas frames this year and I think I’m going to have to
retire this tradition for many reasons – a) we have no place to store all of
these frames, b) we have no place to set them all up anymore because the
collection is getting so huge, and c) they are just such a pain to put up! It makes me a little sad, but I’m hoping to
figure out another way to showcase our old Christmas cards and possibly the
kids’ old Santa pics!
So instead of the Christmas
frames, I left up all of the every day décor and I just changed out the décor on
my tiered tray.
Now, to the part that we’ve
all been waiting for… THE BAR CART! Y’all,
it is just my favorite!!!! I wrapped the
entire cart with a strand of white lights and it adds such a fun pop! I left the bottles of Pellegrino along with
the bottles of TJ’s ginger beer because the colors are perfect for Christmas! I added some Goldschlager because – cinnamon –
and I changed out my summer cocktails recipe book for my Festive Cocktails
recipe book. A few red glittery coasters
from the Target Dollar Spot, some red and green paper straws, some candy canes,
a couple of festive wine glasses, and that gorgeous red and white pom pom
garland complete the top shelf.
The bottom shelf still
houses our wine and wine accessories, and then I added a cute little gold
sleigh and filled it with a few little fun Christmas containers that I found at
Hobby Lobby.
Christmas bar cart
perfection. <3
The guest bath doesn’t get
much décor… just a couple of snowmen, a festive candle, and a festive hand
soap!
Moving upstairs there’s the
master bedroom that is exactly the same as last year, and I don’t think that
will ever change. I know that I’ve told
this story several times on the blog, so if you’ve already heard it bear with
me. B and I were married on December 1,
2007 so our wedding had a Christmas theme.
We had two Christmas trees in our reception area filled with these
gorgeous snowflake ornaments for our guests to take as a wedding favor. I had personalized ribbon made with our names
and our wedding date, and they were strung through each of the ornaments to
give them a personal feel. We ended up
having loads of the ornaments left over, so each year since I have been
decorating a tree in our bedroom with them, and I can’t think of a better place
to have them!
Next up is Jacob’s room… he
has a red, white and blue tree to match the rest of his room. Next year I’m thinking of adding some of his
personal keepsake ornaments to his tree as well since our main tree downstairs
is getting so full.
Olivia’s
room is next… she has a pink, purple, and white tree and those flowers on her tree are
my FAVORITE. I’m thinking of moving some
of her personal keepsake ornaments to her tree next year as well… that is if
she can leave them alone and not play with them like she always does with the
ornaments downstairs. Haha.
And finally, this year I put up a tree in my office. Since I'm not working now, I brought my tree and decorations home from work and put it up in my home office instead! It's nice to have some twinkle lights in there since I spend so much time in there now!
Well, that about wraps it
up!

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it all! I love your new little coffee station. and your bar cart...oh my perfection!!
ReplyDeleteEvery year, I say I am going to add more trees around our house but I never do. Both kids have a tree in their rooms but that's it (and I didn't even share those on our home tour today) EEK!
Oh Lindsay, it is spectacular! Hard to pick a favorite thing! Your formal dining area may be my fave, love the sign, but wait, love the coffee bar too, but wait, the tree oh the tree! Just LOVE it all! Great job girl!
ReplyDeleteHaha. Thank you! That's how I feel! I could just leave it up year around!
Deleteits beautiful lindsay! I love your mantle decor and your trees are all gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteI just love your house, especially at Christmas! The living room has to be my favorite, as is the tree in your bedroom. I love how you gave ornaments as favors and that is what makes up your tree! The chalkboard over the bar cart cracks me up - so perfect for that area!
ReplyDeleteAmazing! It's all so beautiful!! I wish I could get my Christmas decor to look anywhere near as coordinated as this; but with three boys helping that's not really possible right now. So very lovely! I'm not even sure I could pick a favorite room... though I do adore all that white and silver in the dining room.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much! And yes, that dining room is one of my faves, too. That was a new addition last year and I just adore it!
DeleteBeautiful!!! The sign above your bar cart is my fave. :)
ReplyDeleteEverything is so gorgeous! I love how you talked about retiring certain things to do, as I had to do that this year as well!

Everything looks so pretty! I love all of your lighted garlands and trees. We have the crate of Christmas books and basket of hats and headbands, too! (Life with kids...haha!) I can't wait until I can start putting out fancy decorations again. Liam is still a tiny tornado and would clear off your tables in the span of just a few minutes!
ReplyDeleteHaha. Yes, I was worried Olivia would do the same, but she's mostly pretty good.
DeleteEverything look so pretty, Lindsay! I especially love your front porch.

ReplyDeleteWow, wow, wow!! I love it SO much! I think your living room is my favorite part. :) Also, did you handwrite on your chalkboard? If so, it looks amazing!! Totally something you could think about selling for your new SAHM status! <3
ReplyDeleteThank you so much! And yes, I hand wrote the chalkboard. :o) That was one of the things that I was considering doing for an Etsy shop, but there are already so many people who do it. :o(
