Fri – Out
Sat – Out
Sun – Sunday dinner at Momma’s

What I’m Reminiscing About

Our beach trip last year… it’s almost beach time for this year and we are SO excited we can hardly stand it!

What I’m Loving

Being off with my babies!  We’re only one day in but it was just PERFECT!

What We’ve Been Up To

The question is – what have we not been up to?  May was busy, y’all.  As a matter of fact, May is almost as busy as December!  With class parties, field trips, awards ceremonies, parents day, end-of-the-year activities, summer birthday party celebrations at school, Muffins with Mom, etc. etc. I feel like I’ve been living at the kids’ schools!

This month we…

Celebrated my birthday with my girlfriends (better late than never!), we watched Jacob accept his scholarship for next school year, we went to our city’s Riverfest and enjoyed an outdoor concert by the river, we spent lots of time with my eldest brother and SIL and nephew since they moved closer to home, we watched Olivia receive her medal from her first season of soccer, we watched Jacob receive his second medal from his second season of soccer, Jacob lost his first tooth, I attended Muffins with Mom at Olivia’s school, B and I attended Parents’ Day at Jacob’s school, B and I went on THREE dates (to see Justin Timberlake – AH-mazing, to our Contemporary Couples’ Club get together, and to see Dave Matthews Band – AH-mazing as always), we celebrated Mother’s Day, we watched the Royal Wedding, we celebrated several birthdays in our family, and we cleaned out a lot of the pain-in-the-butt areas of the house (the outdoor storage closet, the utility closet under the stairs, our coat closet, and the huge storage closet that houses all of our holiday decorations and other things) and got them decluttered and organized.  And I finally organized all of our old Christmas cards.  Whew.  I’m exhausted just reliving it all!

What I’m Dreading

Waiting to see if my plant’s going to make it… y’all, I’m so sad that it’s struggling.  The leaves have stopped turning brown, so that’s at least good, but it is definitely not looking great... it's definitely not thriving like it was when I took the picture below just after repotting it.

What I’m Working On

My main focus for the next 10 weeks is going to be enjoying time off with my babies.  This is the first summer that I’ve ever been able to stay home with them, so we plan on doing lots of fun summer things.  Since I’ve been working for the last 20 years, I’ve grown to hate the summers because I don’t get to reap the benefits of summer and enjoy the fun that kids and stay-at-home parents do, but I’m bound and determined to turn my hatred around and bring back “sweet summertime!”

That said, I’m not going to be lazy this summer either (well, maybe some days… hehe) and there are a few things that I want to accomplish.  I want to finish getting the house cleaned out and have our yard sale, I want to get my computer files decluttered and purged (this is going to be a HUGE job), and I want to get my closet painted.

However, having fun with the kids will be my #1 priority this summer and if I don’t get to the other things, well then, they can wait until fall.  :o)

What I’m Excited About

THE BEACH!!!!  We leave in one week!!!!  Need I say more?

What I’m Watching/Reading

Watching – All of our standard TV is wrapping up, but Bachelorette just started this week so we’re all over that!  I’m not super excited about this one mostly just because I’m not a huge Becca fan, but as usual I can’t not watch either!  We’re also still making our way through The Crown as well.

Reading – Just started one of my very favorite books of all time… Something Borrowed by Emily Giffin.  If I had to choose just one book to read for the rest of my life, it would probably be that one.  I’ve probably read it five or six times, yet here I am, reading it again.  And I’m patiently counting down the days until the release of Emily Giffin’s new book in June!  I just love her!  Since I started reading that, though, we made our first trip to the library and I’m now going to start reading Ladies’ Night by Mary Kay Andrews.  It’s about a lifestyle blogger so I can’t not read that one, right?  ;o)  Has anybody read this one yet?

What I’m Listening To

A little bit of everything!  I’ve still had Taylor and Justin on repeat, and now I’m awaiting the release of Dave Matthews Band’s new album… they’re making us wait forever!!

What I’m Wearing

Alternating between shorts and tanks or leggings and workout tanks.  I recently purchased these leggings from Amazon and they are AMAZING!!!!  They are every bit as good as my beloved Zellas.  Thanks, Lizzie, for the suggestion!  It’s either been HOT here, but it’s also been raining a lot, so it really just depends on the day!  I’m still loving this tank from Old Navy and these shorts from J. Crew Factory!  They pair perfectly together and make a great patriotic outfit!

What I’m Doing This Weekend

Getting ready for the beach – packing, shopping for last minute things, and researching some places to eat, things to see while we’re there.  We’re not going to our usual place, and I’m really excited about exploring a new place!

What I’m Looking Forward To Next Month

Again – BEACH!  Also, getting rid of all of the crap that’s been sitting around the house for months at our yard sale, swimming lessons with the kids, a family trip to Atlanta, and a possible girls’ trip to Atlanta for a weekend!  I haven’t been on a girls’ trip in years, and it is long overdue so I sure hope we can somehow make it work!

What Else Is New

School’s out for summer!  Did I mention that already?
