Five on Friday - Amazon Tank, Softest Sweatshirt, and Halloween PJs

We survived week two of school and I feel like we’ve settled back into a good groove pretty quickly this year.  We didn’t have any major changes like we did last year with Olivia changing schools, so this year is very similar to last year.  As a matter of fact, summer went by so quickly it almost feels like we never even had a break.

Anyhoo, it’s Friday again and it’s time for some favorites from the week.  Here we go!

O N E – Amazon Tank

I mentioned this tank in my July Amazon purchases post and a couple of people asked to see it on, so I thought I’d just include it in my post today.  I absolutely love it!  It’s comfy, it will keep you cool, and it makes you look super put together even though it’s easy to throw on… I think it’s the buttons that make it so fab!  So for those of you who asked… here’s what it looks like on.  It comes in seven different colors and it’s $17.99.  I happened to snag mine during a lightning deal so mine was way cheaper.  All of the colors just scream fall to me, so this is the perfect piece to wear this time of year when your heart says fall but the weather is still screaming SUMMER.

T W O – The Softest, Coziest Sweatshirt

A few years ago I found the best sweatshirt ever at none other than Walmart and it has remained one of my favorites all these years later.  You can probably imagine how thrilled I was when I saw that the same brand released a new line of sweatshirts this fall.  The new sweatshirts are just as soft and wonderful as the one from a few years ago and I’m going to live in this baby all fall and winter!  I love this sweatshirt because it’s thin, but warm, and it is seriously one of the softest sweatshirts I own.  I sized up to a medium for a slouchy fit and I love that it covers my butt so I can wear it with leggings.  And the best part?  It’s only $12.76!  Three other graphics available, too!

T H R E E – Halloween PJs

Halloween will be here before we know it and the Halloween PJs always tend to sell out early, so I’ve already snagged some for the kids.  Jacob is at the point now where he probably won’t want festive PJs much longer, but I’m going to roll with it as long as I can.  Since he’s reaching the age at which he doesn’t like the character stuff as much, I opted for these Burt’s Bees plain striped PJs in Halloween colors.  They come in baby and toddler sizes, but they also come in big kid sizes as well… just $16.47.

The cutest option I found for Olivia were these pink BOO PJs from Old Navy.  Girlfriend loves pink so they were the perfect choice for her!  Right now they’re on sale for just $10 so grab them while you can before they sell out!

F O U R – Cozy Vibes

Like many of you, I’m yearning for fall, but our weather has been insanely hot and humid these last few weeks.  Since the kids are now back in school, I’ve been spending most of my time in my office working every day again.  And since I’m always cold, I’ve been bundling up – fleece leggings, fleece cardi, cozy slippers, my favorite hot sunset cinnamon tea, and Gilmore Girls on Netflix while I work.  I might not be able to make it feel like fall outside, but by golly, I can at least pretend it’s fall while I’m inside!  It makes me so happy!

F I V E – Workouts Back in Full Force

Now that the kids are back in school my gym schedule is more consistent and it feels SO GOOD to be back in the groove again.  I’m just one of those people who love to work out.  It makes me feel better physically, it keeps my anxiety at bay, it makes me sleep better, and it gives me more energy.  It’s a win every way I look at it!

Since I’ve gotten back in there these last couple of weeks I feel like I’ve been hitting it even harder than ever and I’ve been breaking my “calories burned record” right and left.  I’ve mentioned before here on the blog that I always do a set workout of 30 minutes + a 5 minute cool-down.  In that 30 minutes I fast-walk on an incline the entire time and I’m constantly bumping up my speed and incline to try to burn as many calories as I can.  Earlier this week I fast-walked at 3.8 mph on an incline of 13 (my highest ever) and I burned 471 calories in just 35 minutes.  If you want to amp up your treadmill game, definitely utilize that incline!  Adding the incline tones my butt, thighs, and calves so much more than just walking on a flat surface.

And now for the funnies of the week…

#Truth.  Side note, that season three finale, though!!!!

You can ALWAYS justify going to Hobby Lobby.
Me, currently.

Couldn't have said it better myself!

Always and forever.

Yep, so sad.  Hahahaha.

And in case you missed it, here’s what happened on the blog this week…

Happy Friday, y’all!

  1. Your working at home look looks perfect!!! It's been kind of stormy and rainy here, so after work I have been cozying up on the couch, trying to forget that it's 90 degrees outside. :) I need to start walking at an incline again - you burn so many calories in a relatively short time!
