Five on Friday - Favorite Masks, New Christmas Song, and Two More Gift Ideas

Well this week flew by yet again!  I can’t believe the kids only have one more week of school and then they’ll be out for Christmas break.  This last month has gone by in the blink of an eye.

My last few Five on Friday posts have been themed, so I’m excited to finally have a week where I can just share some random favorites with you!

O N E – New Favorite Masks

I’m very picky about masks, and so far, my favorite ones have been the ones that my mother-in-law has made for us.  I came across these masks at Target.com, and the style is nearly identical to the ones my MIL makes, so I decided to try them since they are SO DANG CUTE.  Seriously, y’all, the blue and white stripes and the ruffle… who knew a mask could be so cute?!

Well, I received mine in the mail last week, got them washed, and… I LOVE THEM!!!!  They are contoured to fit around your face, they are breathable, the elastic ear loops are very comfortable, and they are machine washable.  My main concern when purchasing these was the ruffle… would it get in the way, obstruct my view, and be downright annoying?

The answer is NO, not any more than a regular mask without a ruffle!

I just situate mine on my face where the top of the ruffle hits the spot on the bridge of my nose where any other mask would stop, and the ruffle doesn’t get in my line of vision at all.  The ruffle on this one is really small, and the ruffles aren’t very fluffy (if that makes sense?), so all you have to do is press the mask down over your nose and face as you would any regular mask, and it lays down nice and flat.

See, SO DANG CUTE, and only $2 each!!!!  They also have the same style with the ruffle in a pink floral!

And just for reference, I purchased mine in the size L/XL because I like for mine to fit kind of loose on my face.  They still cover my entire face properly, but the L/XL allows for some breathing room in there.  I don’t like my masks tight where they press up against my nose and lips… and I can’t stand when a mask is so tight that it wiggles around and rubs up and down my face while I talk.  Buying the larger size prevents all of that from happening while still keeping me safe!

Who knew I could write so much about a dang mask?!  Moving on…

T W O – Carrie Underwood and John Legend

Oh my word, have y’all heard this song yet?!  It is beautiful.  Carrie Underwood released a new Christmas album a couple of weeks ago, and this duet of her with John Legend is just unbelievable.  I am completely obsessed.  If you love Christmas music and you haven’t downloaded this one yet, you are missing out!

T H R E E – Last-Minute Christmas Gift for the Kids

I was browsing blogs the other day, and someone (I can’t remember who now) mentioned this box of 40 Crayola markers.  In this box, you get 40 different, unique colors, which is awesome, and they’re all washable.

I just so happened to catch them when they were on sale for $12.22 per box, so I grabbed two boxes, one for each of the kids.  They are going to go crazy when they see these!  They spend the majority of their time at home drawing, coloring, and crafting, so we are always in need of art supplies.

I know I LOVED a brand new box of markers when I was a kid, and back then, the biggest pack they had was a 10-pack… this 40-pack is blowing my mind!  Ha!

So anyway, if you’re looking for a last-minute gift, I’m sure any kid would love to get these!

F O U R – Affirmation Cards

I’ve been following Casey Wiegand on Instagram (and her blog) for years, and she is just one of the most inspiring people!  She’s an artist and everything she does – from her artwork to her wardrobe to her home décor – is so whimsical and beautiful.  I was really excited when she announced that she was releasing a new product line, because one of the items in the line is these affirmation cards!

One of the things I’m going to implement in 2021 is doing daily affirmations when I do my quiet time and meditation, and I can’t imagine there being a more beautiful set of affirmation cards than these!  These weren’t available when I made my Christmas list back in November, so I wasn’t able to include them on my list.  Since I wasn’t able to include them, I just went ahead and ordered some for myself so I can start them in January along with my other goals for the new year.  Merry Christmas, self!  Haha.

These would make a thoughtful gift for any woman in your life.

F I V E – A Little Bit of Emily’s Christmas Home Tour

My friend, Emily, posted her Christmas home tour earlier this week, and it was one of my favorite blog posts from the whole week.  Her décor is traditional and classic, and so many of her items in her décor are meaningful.  I just loved reading her commentary that went along with the pictures.  If you have a moment, check it out!

Friday Funnies

As someone who had the strictest grammar teachers growing up, I fully appreciate this meme... so. much. sentence. diagramming.  Haha.

Nope, the Baby Yoda memes will never get old.

We had to make some changes for our insurance recently and OMG this is so true.  Hahahaha.  Also, y'all  OG Boyz II Men fans know what I'm talking about!  Haha.

I lucked out, and fortunately, do not have any of these.  Haha.

Me.
