Our 2021 30A Summer Beach Trip by the Numbers

We just got back from a week in paradise, so it’s time to post the stats!

8 – Days we were on our trip

7 – Nights we stayed in the condo

8 – Little beach towns we visited while we were there (Panama City, Inlet, Rosemary, Seacrest, Alys, Santa Rosa, Seaside, Watercolor)

5 – Times Olivia asked for snacks (and this was just in the first day or two… I lost track after a couple of days.  Lol.)

2 – Times Olivia asked if we were almost there

1 – Time Jacob asked if we were almost there

4 – Times somebody spotted cows and said “cows” on the way down there and back (all Brian.  Haha.)

1 – Time somebody spotted horses and said “horses” on the way down there and back (Brian again)

1 – Time somebody spotted miscellaneous animals and said “animals” on the way down there and back (Brian, yet again.  And I don’t even remember what “animal” it was.  Haha.)

1 – Time the GPS fell off the windshield (I’m honestly not even sure why we continue to use the old-school GPS now that we have Apple Carplay.  We always use that, too, and have both of them going at once.  I guess we should never have to worry about getting lost.  Haha.)

16 + a pitcher of margs – Adult beverages consumed (EEK!  This sounds so high, but keep in mind we were there for eight days.  Haha.)

23 – Donuts consumed

1 – Donut thrown out (this has never EVER happened before but by the last day I was feeling like I couldn’t possibly eat another donut, and everyone else had already had their fill)

14 – Ice creams consumed (this is rather low considering how many days we were there.  Haha)

3 – Nights that Brian and I skipped dessert altogether (Who even are we?!?!)

1 – Time we got takeout for dinner and ate in the condo

8 – Restaurants we ate at on this trip (6 for dinner, 1 for lunch, 1 for breakfast)

6 – Times we ate outside at a restaurant (5 for dinner, 1 for breakfast)

2 – Time we ate inside a restaurant (1 for dinner, 1 for lunch)

2 – New restaurants tried on this trip (Great Southern Café and The Wine Bar)

5 – Times we made lunch in the condo

21 – Hours spent on the beach (18 daytime and 3 evening)

3 – Times we went crabbing after dark

7 – Crabs seen (5 the first night we went crabbing, 1 on another night, and 1 during the day which is rare)

4 – Bottles of sunscreen that we went through

963 – Tickets won at Dave and Busters

9 – Prizes selected with said Dave and Busters tickets + 1 additional prize won in the claw machine

2.5 – Books I read on the trip (1/2 of Fly Away, The Woman in the Window, The Return)

1 – Time we were asked if the kids are twins (happens on nearly every trip!)

5 – Times people said, “GO DAWGS” to us after seeing Brian’s tee or my hat

1 – Time people said, “Roll Tide” to us after seeing Brian’s tee or my hat.  <eye roll> Haha.

10 – People who asked Olivia about her arm and her cast

2 – Other kids we saw in a cast (we even struck up a convo with the parents of one of the kids in Rosemary Beach because she had the same kind of cast from her hand to her shoulder, and she had a very similar break… it was nice to commiserate with fellow cast parents at the beach.  Haha.)

Thousands – Of people seen on our trip

22 – People seen wearing masks (hopefully a sign that the pandemic is dying down!!!!  It is SO nice to be able to see people’s smiling faces again… although, hopefully we don’t have to worry about another wave.  EEKS!)

854 – Pictures taken on the trip with my iPhone

0 – Pictures taken on the trip with my fancy camera (nobody was in the mood for family pictures on the beach again this time, so we didn’t even try)

115 – Videos taken on the trip with my iPhone

?? – Miles driven (I forgot to keep track again… forehead smack)

?? – Shells found on this trip (still need to get them out and count them!!)

As always, I’ll be recapping our trip from start to finish, and I’m hoping to have the first posts up next week if I can get my act together.  If you missed following along with us, you can always relive the whole trip in my “Beach ‘21” highlight in my Instagram bio.

Happy Monday, y’all!
