Happy Friday!  Well, we made it through the second week of school, and we have some fun on deck for the weekend!  Are y’all ready for a few favorites?

O N E – Clorox Disinfecting Mist

If you haven’t discovered this magic yet, then you need to!  There are plenty of cleaners on the market that sanitize hard surfaces, but I’ve always wondered what to do about the soft ones – couches, the mattresses, chairs, carpet, etc.  Clorox now has this disinfecting mist, and it can be used on hard and soft surfaces to kill 99.9% of bacteria and viruses.  Covid-19 is on the list, too!

Since B had Covid a couple of weeks ago, this mist has been the real MVP in our house!  As soon as we found out he had it, I used this to spray down his spot on the couch (where he had been sitting the night before he tested positive), and after he recovered, I used it to spray down the pull out couch/mattress where he slept along with his pillow.

I’m typically a Young Living girl, and I use my Thieves cleaner religiously, but after seeing B so sick with Covid, I wanted the strongest thing I could find!

T W O – Crayola Crayon Melter

Jacob got this Crayola Crayon melter for his birthday and it is so cool!  All you have to do is insert crayons or crayon pieces into the wand, and it melts the wax which enables you to draw with it.  It’s safe for kids, it’s easy to use (Jacob opened the box, set it up, and used it without any help from anyone), and it’s a great way to use up all of those old crayon pieces instead of trashing them.  The wax dries quickly, and the tip of the wand doesn’t get too hot, so it’s safe for kids to use.

T H R E E – Oona Out of Order by Margarita Montimore

I read this book in July and I loved it so much that I thought I’d share it here.

From Amazon:

It’s New Year’s Eve 1982, and Oona Lockhart has her whole life before her. At the stroke of midnight she will turn nineteen, and the year ahead promises to be one of consequence. Should she go to London to study economics, or remain at home in Brooklyn to pursue her passion for music and be with her boyfriend? As the countdown to the New Year begins, Oona faints and awakens thirty-two years in the future in her fifty-one-year-old body. Greeted by a friendly stranger in a beautiful house she’s told is her own, Oona learns that with each passing year she will leap to another age at random. And so begins Oona Out of Order...

Hopping through decades, pop culture fads, and much-needed stock tips, Oona is still a young woman on the inside but ever changing on the outside. Who will she be next year? Philanthropist? Club Kid? World traveler? Wife to a man she’s never met? Surprising, magical, and heart-wrenching, Margarita Montimore has crafted an unforgettable story about the burdens of time, the endurance of love, and the power of family.

I adored this book, and I was hooked from the very first chapter.  The concept was so unique, so different from anything else I’ve ever read, and it had me turning pages like wildfire to see what happened next.  I thought Oona’s character was very likeable and I found myself cheering her on – and cringing for her a few times, too – throughout the book.  It was an easy and quick read, and definitely one that I’ll remember going forward.

F O U R – Beads

I’ve mentioned this set of beads once before, but now that we’ve used them, I can officially say that we LOVE them.  Olivia and I made bracelets the last week of summer break, and they all turned out so cute.  The beads are easy to use, the elastic that comes in the set is good and sturdy, and there is literally every color of the rainbow in the set.  So. Many. Colors.  In addition to that, there are various other letter beads, smiley face beads, and shaped beads, so you and your little ones can create anything your minds can dream up.

F I V E – Timehop Five Years

I’ve had the Timehop app on my phone for years, and I love it because every single day I get to take a mini trip down memory lane.  Timehop keeps track of your streak, and last week, they notified me that I have officially made it to five years.  Yes, that means for the last five years or – 1,825 days – I have checked my Timehop.  Every. Single. Day.  Lol.
