Five on Friday - Anthro Inspired Holiday Glasses, Y2K Zipper Hoodies, the Comfiest Lounge Pants, and More

Happy Friday, y’all!  I have some favorites for you on this Friday, and they are so good… I’m getting into the fall spirit and several of these items are most definitely a reflection of that!

O N E – Anthropologie Inspired Glasses for a Fraction of the Cost

Tanya posted about these glasses a few weeks ago on her blog, and I immediately fell in love.  They look identical to Anthropologie’s seasonal glasses from last year, but for a fraction of the price.  They come in this style with bat charms, and there are a few others – black cats, white ghosts, and orange pumpkins.  I ordered the bats, and I couldn’t love these glasses more.  The quality is ahhhh-mazing.  They are made of very thick, heavy glass, and they are beautiful in person.

If you read my weekly recap a few weeks ago, you may remember that Walmart dropped the ball on making Jacob’s custom birthday cake for his party even though we had already paid for it.  Well, I ended up having to contact customer service to get them to reimburse us, and when the customer service agent sent my email confirmation, they also sent a $10 gift card for our troubles, but it had to be used online, and only on select items.  I ended up using it for these, and I love them soooo much.

The pumpkins are already out of stock, though, so if you’re contemplating purchasing any of the designs, I would grab them soon.

T W O – Hollister Hoodies

My name is Lindsay, and I was influenced by one of my favorite people on Instagram to purchase something from Hollister for the first time in about, ohhhh, 20 years?  Hahahaha.  I follow @nicolestorydent and she does these funny Reels directed at millennials, and they are all so relatable.  She posted a hilarious Reel a few weeks ago of her walking into Hollister and looking at their new “Y2K” vault items and being horrified at seeing all of the low-rise sweatpants, long lace-trimmed tanks (y’all know the one!), graphic zipper hoodies, and tight cable-knit shirts.

Well, the joke’s on me, I guess, because I saw said graphic zipper hoodie and I couldn’t order it fast enough.  Lol.  It’s funny, because just a day or two before I saw her Reel, Brian and I were watching Friends, and Monica was wearing a fitted zipper graphic hoodie, and I said to Brian – “Man, I wish those would come back in style again!”  I looooved the graphic zipper hoodies in the late 90s and early 2000s.

Then, lo and behold, I saw Nicole’s Reel a couple of days later and I couldn’t believe my eyes that they were BACK.  I was hoping they’d have one with the year 2000 on it since that was my high school graduation year, but they only have select years and 2000 isn’t one of them.  Boooo.  I ended up ordering the 2001 hoodie because I love the colors – light grey and pink – and y’all, I LOVE THIS HOODIE.  It’s so soft and snuggly, it’s fitted (but not too tight) for a flattering look, and it has the duel zippers where you can have it open at the top or bottom just like the OGs.  It’s true-to-size – the small fits me perfectly with a little bit of extra room.

I love the 2001 hoodie so much that I ordered a second one – the maroon ninety-nine option – because a) the 90s were my favorite decade, and b) that one looks almost identical to the American Eagle zipper hoodie I had a million years ago.  And y’all, the sad part is, I just got rid of that only a few years ago.  I should have just held onto it, I guess.  But anyway, both of these will be on repeat all winter and I cannot wait!

T H R E E – Comfy Lounge Pants with Side Bow

To get free shipping, I also added this pair of lounge pants.  They are mid-rise (NOT low-rise like some of the other ones), they’re baggy, they’re soooo comfortable, and THEY HAVE POCKETS.  The bows on the ankles are also such a cute touch – takes them up a notch from plain ol’ sweatpants – and I just love them so much.  These will be on repeat all winter as well.  And these also come in different colors – light pink, navy, black, and red – and they are on super sale right now – HALF OFF!  They are true-to-size – the small, regular length pants are perfect for me for a comfy fit, although, I probably could have sized down one size since they are so baggy.

Who knew that I’d still be purchasing clothes from Hollister at age 43?!  Not me!  Haha.

F O U R – Amazon Storefront

Did y’all know that you can shop all of my Amazon items in one place?  I’ve mentioned my Amazon storefront here before, but since I’ve been working on updating it a bit, I thought I would share it again.  I get DMs quite often asking for links to specific products, so I’m going to link my storefront one more time in case you’re looking for something specific.  A lot of the items in my storefront are items that I own, and they are divided into categories, but I also have some inspiration boards to shop for various seasons.  I recently updated them for fall and Halloween, so pop on over and check them out if you’re interested!

F I V E – This Quote

Yes, I am going to post about Taylor Swift again this week in my favorites, but I just can’t help myself because this quote is so wise.  On the New Heights podcast last week, she was talking about how so many people put too much stock into what they see on the internet, especially about themselves… about how people will let one mean comment ruin their entire day.  She went on to say the following, and it’s so simple, yet absolutely brilliant:

“Think of your energy as if it’s expensive.  As if it’s a luxury item.  Not everyone can afford it.  Not everyone has invested in you in order to be able to have the capital for you to care about this… what you spend your energy on, that’s your day.”

So in other words, don’t waste your energy worrying about what other people think!  Do not let random people who do not truly care about you ruin your day.

YES.  All day long.  THIS.  What people think of you is really none of your business.

  1. Happy Friday, Lindsay!! I had no idea Walmart had a version of those cute Anthropologie glasses - so glad you were able to snag those. The Hollister hoodies are taking me WAY back, haha, I had so many of those and loved the writing on the front. The sweatpants look so cute and comfy too! I also thought the Taylor Swift quote was so, so good! It's an important reminder that we have a choice whether we let something ruin our day. It's really sad people are out there saying rude things and that's completely on them, but we also don't have to give them the satisfaction of knowing it affected our day in any way and can choose joy instead!

Hope you have the very best weekend! :)

  2. I saw those Walmart glasses last week, and the pumpkin ones I wanted were already sold out. Walmart has had some cute stuff lately and it goes fast!
My youngest loves Hollister. She has some hoodies and yoga pants that are so soft! I'm sure if tried purchasing something it would be taken over.
I don't understand the 6-7 thing. I also hear "chat" and "ts" a lot.

  3. I have been buying Fall things too. Those glasses are so cute and what a bonus you have the gift card to use.
That hoodie looks great, I love it how all the styles seem to come back around again.
Taylor Swift is a very wise woman and that quote from her is fantastic advice.
