What I Ordered from Amazon in July 2025

After several months of very minimal Amazon purchases, July ended up being a very heavy month because of product refills needed, Jacob’s birthday, Prime Day, back to school prep, and wedding prep for a family member.  Here’s what I bought in the month of July…

Wireless Pink Keyboard and Mouse Set

This, along with the next item, are the only two things I bought in the Amazon Prime Day sale for myself just for fun.  My old keyboard was missing letters and many of the keys were getting stuck, so technically I did kind of need a new one, but I definitely didn’t need a new mouse.  However, when I saw this matching set go on sale during Prime Day, I couldn’t resist it.  I love how the keyboard blends in with the aesthetic of my office now.  And it’s soooo nice to have keys that actually work… for several of the keys on my old keyboard, I had to hit them three or four times to get them to work, and many times this resulted in typos that Brian would catch later once the posts had gone live.  This one is soooo smooth!  And the mouse is so quiet.  It barely makes a noise when you click it.  I think that’s my favorite part about this whole set.  Well, that and they’re both wireless!

Red Top

I’ve had this top in my wish list for months, and I finally decided to grab one when it went on sale for just $12!  I have to say, the quality is better than I expected, it doesn’t wrinkle or shrink, and the ruffles on the sleeves stay set in place through washing and drying.  Some of my ruffled sleeved shirts are a pain because I have to air dry them and lay them out perfectly with the sleeves pressed down and out to make sure they hold their shape.  Not for this shirt!  It also comes in a ton of other colors.  I chose red because I needed a short-sleeve shirt for football season.  It’s true to size… I ordered a small and I like that it’s somewhat fitted, but still a little loose.

OXO Good Grips Chopper

I’ve had this exact chopper for years, and it finally bit the dust a couple of months ago.  There are so many fancy choppers on Amazon that were included in the sale, but I just wanted this same chopper again because it’s so simple and easy to use.  It doesn’t come with a million parts that I don’t need, it has an easy pour spout on the back, it’s dishwasher safe, and the very best part – it comes with a removeable mat that you pull off after every use to make cleaning a breeze!  No scraping in between the grids to get it cleaned up like all of the other choppers.  You just pull the mat right off and all of the stuck-on food pieces come with it!  Then, you can put the mat in the dishwasher with the other parts and it snaps right back in place for next time.

Bath & Body Works Gift Card

I had stopped using Bath & Body Works soaps for a while and made the switch to Mrs. Meyers soaps instead, since they are cleaner, but ever since B&B Works cleaned up their soaps, I have been using them in the bathrooms again.  I always go once every six months or so and stock up, and the time had come to do that, so when Brian saw that Amazon had a $50 Bath & Body Works gift card on sale for just $40, he alerted me so I could grab one.  We saved $10, and I was able to load up on soaps while they were on super sale, so we saved a ton of money over all on that soap purchase!

Precise Pens

I’ve talked about these pens numerous times on the blog.  They are the only pens I’ve used since college… or maybe high school?  I color code my planner, and I was running low on ink for a couple of the colors, so I grabbed this pack of refills when they were on sale for Prime Day.

Neck Pillow

My upper cervical chiropractor told me to purchase this neck pillow to supplement his adjustments, and I have been laying on it every single night for nearly two weeks.  My neck has lost its C curve which has likely contributed to my problems (neck, face, jaw, and head tension, dizziness, vertigo, unsteadiness, brain fog, sensitivity to light, tinnitus tension and regular headaches, etc.) in addition to my misaligned atlas and axis these past 10+ years.  My doctor had hoped that by moving my atlas and axis back into place (C1 and C2) that everything else would fall back into place as well, and while most things have, my C curve has remained stubborn, staying stuck in its straight position.  This pillow gently restores the C curve just from laying on it for 10-15 minutes per day.  There are LOADS of these pillows on the market, but my chiropractor recommends this one because it has different levels so you can start small and work your way up to the largest curve.  It also has a cradle for your head whereas the others leave your head laying on the hard ground.  This pillow is clinically proven to reduce muscle spasms, neck tension, and upper shoulder pain while also increasing range of motion because it restores the spines of those who have forward head posture.  Forward head posture is SUPER common these days, especially for those who sit at a computer or are on their phones a lot, and it helps relax those overactive muscles and alleviate all of the other symptoms that can come from that.  My doctor told me to start on level one for 5-10 minutes and work my way up to 15 minutes.  Once my body could handle 15 minutes on level one, he told me to move to level two and lay for 5-10 minutes, working my way up 15, and so on.  I have been using mine for a couple of weeks now and I already see a noticeable difference in my posture.  I will warn you, though, as my doctor warned me – while your posture is changing, you will likely have some discomfort (tired or sore neck muscles, shoulder muscles, and arm muscles) because your body has to adapt to its new position, but the doctor assured me that it’s all part of the process.  He did say that I should discontinue use and let him know if I ever have pain WHILE using the device (which I never have).  It’s actually really soothing laying on it and I can literally feel tension melting away while I’m on it.  I always turn on a meditation in my Calm app while I lay on it, and I feel great when I’m done.  If you’re having any kind of pain, discomfort, or tension, in your head, neck, jaws, or shoulders, I strongly recommend talking to your doctor about one of these devices.  Also, I CANNOT RECOMMEND SEEING AN UPPER CERVICAL CHIROPRACTOR ENOUGH.  He is literally saving my life after years upon years of suffering with jaw, neck, head, and shoulder tension and stiffness, vertigo, dizziness, unsteadiness, brain fog, tinnitus, headaches, TMJ issues, and so many other things.  (And the key words in that sentence are “upper cervical” – upper cervical chiropractors are totally different than standard chiropractors.)  *And as with any kind of medical device, please consult with your healthcare professional before using this… this is working for me as I was thoroughly tested and diagnosed prior to use.

Twinkle Lights

Olivia has been asking for twinkle lights in her bedroom for months, so Brian and I were finally able to make her dream come true last week, and it has taken her bedroom to a whole new level of cozy!  We are incandescent bulb people in our house (I hate LEDs because they’re so bright and cold), so we bought this strand on Amazon, and they look stunning.  Since Olivia has a ceiling fan in her bedroom, we weren’t able to string them across the room like I did in my office.  Instead, Brian strung them around the perimeter of the room.  Since each strand is 25 feet, we couldn’t do two strands as that would have been way too long, but 25 feet was also too short, so we ended up draping them across the final corner to end in the middle of the wall.  We weren’t sure how that was going to look, but I actually really love how it turned out.  Brian used screws with looped ends, and he attached every third bulb to one of those.  We ran the extension cord down the corner of her bedroom next to her closet, and the extension cord is plugged in with an Amazon Smart Plug, so all Olivia has to do is say, “Ziggy (she renamed her Alexa – LOL), turn on Olivia’s lights” and they turn on and off by voice command.  I have mine set the same way, and I love it because I am lazy, and I hate unplugging things.  Haha.  But anyway, if you have ever wanted to make a space in your house extra cozy, this is your sign to buy some twinkle lights.  :o)  Oh, and you can use these outdoors, too.  We have them on our back porch along with my office, so as you can see, we are huge fans of these!  :o)

Jansport Backpack

Some things never go out of style!  Olivia requested a Jansport backpack this year after using her Pottery Barn backpack for seven years, so we made the switch!  She wanted the bag in this lavender color, and Amazon had it for the best price point.  The bag is sturdy just like my old one was (and still is – I still have it!), and it has more pockets than anyone could ever need… including a laptop sleeve in the back.  It’s super spacious, so I’m hoping this one will last her all the way through high school!

TI-83 Calculator

I literally feel like I could break out in hives when I think about a TI-83 calculator because it brings back memories of me not having a clue what I was doing in math class in high school, LOL.  But Jacob decided to double up on his math this year, and this calculator is required for both classes, so we bit the bullet and bought one.  I have to say, they’re much more sleek than when we were in high school, and they’re a bit more advanced with the technology as well.

Ballet Shoes

Since Olivia is starting year eight of dance and will now be enrolled in the “teen” classes at her dance school, we decided that this year we would start purchasing the professional grade shoes for her.  My gosh, some of them cost an arm and a leg, but our girl is serious about dance, and she needs to treat her feet well since she’s getting older.  I consulted with my dance guru AKA my friend, Sarah, from high school who danced her whole life and also has a daughter who dances with Olivia.  She provided all of the shoe recommendations for us.  For ballet, she recommended Bloch split sole canvas shoes, and fortunately, Amazon carries them, so we didn’t have to worry about paying for shipping and returns since it’s hard to get the right fit.  We purchased a size 3.5 for Olivia based on the sizing chart, but they run way smaller than the sizing chart suggests, so I had to return and purchase a 4.5.  These ballet shoes are soooo nice, though.  The split sole allows for way more flexibility for the feet, the criss cross straps keep them in place better than the single strap, and these don’t have the ties so Olivia no longer has to tie them and tuck them in – PRAISE.

Tap Shoes

For tap, Sarah recommended a slip-on style in Capezio brand, so we bought these.  They are priceyyyy but they are top-notch quality.  Olivia was amazed when she put them on her feet because she couldn’t believe how much nicer they felt than the ones we bought in previous years.  The sizing chart was spot on – we ordered a 6 and they fit Olivia perfectly with some room to grow – and these are so nice that I don’t think we’ll have to worry about the screws coming loose on the taps… we’ve had issues with this in the past with other brands.

Lyrical Shoes

I didn’t ask for advice on shoes for Lyrical, but Olivia decided that this year she wanted the half soles that wrap around the ankle rather than the ones that slide on just over the ball of your foot.  We bought these Stelle half soles in a 6/7 based on their sizing chart, and again, these were way too small.  I ordered the next size up, and I’m hoping they’ll fit.  The quality is excellent, though, and these are very affordable.

Jazz Shoes

For jazz, Sarah recommended the Bloch Pulse Leather and Neoprene Split Sole shoe, so we bought these from Amazon.  We followed the sizing chart exactly, but yet again, these were tiny on her feet, so I ended up ordering an 8 and we’ll see how that goes.  The quality of these, though?  TOP NOTCH.  Olivia was amazed.  They are so different than the ones she had last year, and she loves them.  They are so form-fitting unlike the ones she’s worn for the last few years, and they are truly amazing quality.

Leotard

Olivia outgrew her old leotard, so we bought this one.  She is required to wear one in royal blue, so the color was not an option, but she can wear any style that she likes.  She decided to go with this criss-cross back version this year and it’s great.  I would say these are true-to-size.  This one comes in other colors, too.

Convertible Tights

I’ve ordered these tights over and over and over again.  Year after year, she wears these, and they’re perfect for converting from ballet or tap or jazz to lyrical.  They are high quality, they hold up forever, and they’re the perfect shade of ballet pink.

Suit for Jacob

The kids are going to be in a wedding, and Jacob has to have a light grey suit with a white button-down shirt and brown dress shoes.  We were going to rent his from Men’s Wearhouse along with the groomsman until I saw the price, and then we just decided to purchase one instead.  We saved almost $200, and he’ll get to keep this one and wear it again for Confirmation in the spring.  Then, hopefully we can sell it and get some of our money back.  The suit is excellent quality – I was kind of shocked at how nice it is for the price – and the pants have an adjustable waistband, which is always nice to have since Jacob usually needs his pants taken in a bit.  It runs true to size.

Brown Dress Shoes

These are the shoes that we ordered for Jacob for the wedding and they are excellent quality.  The best part is that Jacob said that they are shockingly comfortable.  He is super sensitive about everything he wears, so I was pleased to find that he thought these were comfy.  They are true to size.

Nude Heels for Olivia

Olivia has to wear a nude shoe for the wedding, so we bought her her first pair of heels.  These have a very modest heel, of course, but she loves them, and she feels so grown up.  The heels were priced very affordably, and they are really nice.  Olivia said they’re also very comfortable… super important for her, too.

Minecraft Shirt

We bought this Steve’s Lava Chicken tee for Jacob for his birthday… IYKYK.  Haha.  He and all of his friends LOVED it.

Pokemon Birthday Card

I always try to find a card themed for whatever kind of cake Jacob wants for his birthday, and this year he requested a Pokemon cake, so he got a Pokemon card as well!  I always love purchasing greeting cards from Amazon when I’m looking for a specific theme, because nobody has time to go hunt one down at a store.

Eye Shadow Palette

I always receive tons of compliments on my eye shadow, so if you’re one of the people who has ever asked for the link, here it is.  It’s just basic drugstore Maybelline makeup that’s less than $6 per palette.  :o)  It was time for a refill, so I purchased a few of them since I tend to buy makeup products in bulk.

Gold Bond Neck and Chest Firming Cream

I’ve been purchasing this for years because it does exactly what it says it’s going to do – it improves the appearance of skin’s firmness, texture, and elasticity and it smooths, hydrates, and exfoliates for more youthful skin.  The appearance of the skin on my neck and chest has aged backwards since I started using this cream, and I can always tell the difference when I don’t use it.

Taylor Swift Eras Tour Jewel Art

Olivia loves doing these jewel art projects, so I purchased this one when it was on sale, so we can give it to her for Christmas.  This one is very large in size, so I’m thinking she may want to frame it when she’s done with it and hang it on her wall.  She’s been wanting a Taylor Swift poster to hang in her room.

Rainbow Loom White Rubber Band Refill

Olivia has been making creations with her Rainbow Loom all summer, and she was in need of some white rubber bands.  We grabbed these!

Rainbow Loom Black Rubber Band Refill

She was also in need of a refill of black rubber bands, so we bought this pack.

Rainbow Loom Sparkle Rubber Bands Pack

She had this pack once before, and she used all of them, so we purchased another pack so she could refill all of these colors.  These sparkly ones are fun, and she loves the unique colors – especially the Elsa blue – so she has been going nonstop ever since we bought the sparkle pack.

Happy Tuesday, y’all!
