Wednesday Wish List - Fall Things

*This post may contain affiliate links.

Fall.  It’s almost here, you guys.  It’s almost here.

I have professed my undying love for fall since I began blogging back in 2015, so if you have been reading for a while, you probably already know that September through December is my favorite time of the whole year.  There is nothing better.

There’s just something about that first chill in the air, the crunch of colorful leaves under brown boots, the scent of sweet cinnamon pumpkin wafting through the air, the crackle of that first warm fire, the sound of college football humming on the TV, and snuggling up with a warm drink and the ones you love under a big, cozy blanket.

I just got chills typing this.

Fall (and the beginning of winter, because – Christmas!) has always been and probably will always be my favorite time of the whole year.  I have the fondest memories of those four months dating all the way back to when I was just a wee tot jumping gleefully in the fall leaves at the park.  I started my very first (and favorite) job ever back in September of 1998 and those were some of my favorite months of my whole life.  Not to mention Brian and I started dating right at the end of August in 2003 and those first few months of dating that fall were some of the best months of my life as well.  Oh, and our wedding took place on December 1 back in 2007.  And then, after a long summer of struggle in 2010, we got pregnant with Jacob, our sweet rainbow baby, in fall 2010.  See?  Many, many of my favorite memories are wrapped up in these four little months.

Anyway, enough with the jibber jabber.  I wanted to put together a fun list of some of my favorite fall things, some I already have, some I would love to add to my collection, and I wanted to share them with you today so that you might get in that fall spirit, too.  Join me, won’t you?

All items listed below are clickable, shoppable links.

Thankful Sign – Handmade home décor is all the rage right now and I adore this sign.  It would be the perfect addition to a fall mantle.

Mini Pumpkins and Gourds – I have been wanting some mini white pumpkins for years so I can scale back on some of the orange in our décor.  I love this set because it also comes with gourds.  These would be perfect on a mantle or in a decorative bowl for a table centerpiece.

Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin Candle – It wouldn’t be fall in my book without this candle from Bath & Body Works.  I remember being in Athens for game day about ten years ago and stumbling upon it.  We walked into a little boutique on College Ave to get out of the cold, and upon walking in I smelled the best scent I’ve ever smelled in my entire life.  I knew I had to have it.  I walked up to the girl at the front desk, asked her what it was, and she pointed at the orange candle sitting on the counter.  I noted the name in my phone and the rest is history!  We had one in our home just a mere two days later.

Pumpkin Spice Top – Y’all know I’m a huge fan of graphic tees and if this one isn’t just perfect for me then I don’t know what is!  My name is Lindsay and I’m basic.  I love fall and leggings and Target and pumpkin spice lattes from Starbucks.  And I’m not ashamed to admit it.  And yes, I would wear this shirt all the time.

Mini Orange Pumpkins – I have an idea for my mantle this year that involves lots of mini pumpkins.  Stay tuned…

Pumpkin Spice Mug – Another staple for a basic girl like me!  I could drink my basic pumpkin spice coffee out of this basic pumpkin spice mug while I wore my basic pumpkin spice top.

Rae Dunn Inspired Thankful Sign – Yes, I realize that I have two different signs on here that say “Thankful” but I love them both so much.  And this one is for all of you Rae Dunn lovers out there!  You know you need it!  And it’s perfect for those of you who love neutral décor.

Buffalo Plaid Throw Blanket – Remember how I was talking about snuggling up under a fuzzy blanket with your favorite people?  How adorable is this one?  All I know is that I’m hoping that buffalo plaid is still in style this season because I’ll be wearing it (and cozying up under it) whether it is or not!

Throw Pillow Cover – Love these because they are covers that you can throw on your everyday pillows to spruce them up for the season.

Outdoor String Lights – Yes, yes I am putting these on the blog again.  I will continue to sing the praises of these lights because they make me so darn happy.  We have been using ours for a couple of years now and they are still just as special as they were the day we got them.  Fall means cooler weather which means… lot of dinners on the back porch.  It doesn’t get any better than that.  P.S. These are now half the price of what we paid for them!  You can't beat it!

Fall Foliage – This is one of my favorite fall décor staples because it’s so versatile.  You can string it across the mantle, roll it up around a basket, arrange it in a vase, lay it across the coffee table with some fall trinkets tucked in it… so many possibilities!  Plus, colorful leaves are the epitome of fall.

Fall Door Mat – Fun door mats are all the rage right now, and this one is perfect to get you through September, October, and November.

Oh fall, how I love thee.  I am counting down the days until you are here.

T-minus eight days until I decorate our house!

Wednesday Wish List - Styling My Bar Cart

If you’re a regular around here, you probably already know that I have been on the hunt for a bar cart for quite some time.  Well, this past weekend, I found one at our local At Home store and I’m in love!  I haven’t had time to take any decent pictures of it, so please check out this one for reference.  Mine is very similar, but it is silver instead of gold.  I have been considering gold, silver, and white for a bar cart, and I ultimately decided that silver is the way to go!  While I adore gold and it was originally my first preference, I’m afraid that it is going to be outdated in the near future.  Plus, the cabinet pulls in our kitchen are silver and I also have this silver tray on our kitchen table that I absolutely adore, so it will be nice to complement those pieces.

Now that I have the cart, it’s time to get to styling it.  Since I decided to go with silver for the cart, I am completely smitten with the idea of accessorizing with some gold touches… I’m definitely not afraid to mix metals!  I also want to throw in a mixture of practical items as well as decorative pieces for a little punch!

Cake Stand – This is perfect for the top tier to add a little bit of height.

Copper Mugs – This is a practical item as we use them all the time, but they are just so cute, why not display them?  Maybe on top of the cake stand!  These are the exact copper mugs that we have, by the way, and we love them to pieces.  The quality is top notch and they are very stylish.  If you haven't tried a Moscow Mule then you really should!

Paper Straws – Who doesn’t love drinking a cocktail out of a festive straw?  Plus, these are so darling that they add interest to the overall décor.  And black and white stripes?  Classic.

Cocktails Recipe Book – This is a functional piece as well as a decorative piece.  Even though you can get recipes on the internet these days, I’m still a big fan of cookbooks.  This one has the cutest cover so it also adds to the décor.  And the recipes inside?  I want to try almost all of them!

Pink Flowers – These aren’t a necessity, of course, but I’m a huge fan of pink and it’s always nice to have a pop of color.  I’ve never been a big neutrals person.  I like bright, vibrant colors!  Just check out my Instagram feed if you don’t believe me!

Pineapple Shaker – How cute is this pineapple cocktail shaker??  I’m not actually sure how much we would really use it, but it serves enough purpose from sitting there and looking cute.  ;o)

Letter Board – I already have one of these and it’s my favorite thing right now!!  I have had it for several months now and still have yet to find a permanent home for it, but guess whaaaat?  It’s going on the bar cart!

Cocktails Sign – How cute is this gold foil sign?  It would be perfect to frame and put on the cart!

Marquee Letters – We already have marquee letters in our kitchen, but if I didn’t I would LOVE these to hang over the cart.  Instead, I will likely hang my chalkboard over it.  Marquee lights are just so festive!

Letter Board Stand – I picked up a stand very similar to this one to stand my letter board up and it looks great.

Greenery – This is a given when decorating any surface.  You can never have too much.

Serving Tray – Serving trays are perfect for large surfaces because they section off certain areas to keep everything looking organized and neat.  I have expressed my immense love for this tray that my MIL got me for my birthday and guys, I just found out that they have one that’s square!!  Be still my heart!

Champagne Flutes – I am in need of some new champagne flutes, and guess what?  Crate and Barrel has a Camille champagne glass to match my Camille wine glasses (see below).  If they are as gorgeous as the wine glasses then I definitely need some of these.

Bottled Water – How pretty are these Pelligrino bottles?  They would look darling lined up on the cart.  Functional and pretty!

Wine Glasses – Where are all of my Scandal fans?  Anybody ever notice and fall in love with Olivia Pope’s wine glasses like I did?  They have super long stems, they are extremely delicate, and they have a bowl the size of your whole face… so dramatic.   A few years ago when we started watching, I Googled “Olivia Pope wine glasses” and wouldn’t you know that they are from Crate and Barrel!  They are the “Camille Red Wine Glasses” and I have been the proud owner of four of them for a couple of years now.  Guys, these. are. stunning. They have spoiled me because no other wine glass quite measures up... I will never own another wine glass as long as these exist.  They certainly deserve to be showcased on the bar cart!

Well, these are some of my favorites and I’m hoping to incorporate some of them when I decorate my bar cart, hopefully this weekend!  I will also, of course, be throwing some wine and liquor on... it wouldn't be a bar cart without the actual drinks for the bar!

Is there anything essential that I’m forgetting?

Wednesday Wish List - Tassels

I shared my love for all things pom poms a few weeks ago, but there is another trend that I am loving even more than pom poms right now… tassels.  They are every bit as fun as pom poms but slightly more sophisticated.  Or at least I think so!

ONE // TWO // THREE // FOUR
FIVE // SIX // SEVEN
EIGHT // NINE // TEN // ELEVEN

I still have a couple of Amazon gift cards leftover from my birthday and I think that pink swimsuit coverup is calling my name… it’s such a steal!  I have been looking for one like that ever since one of my favorite fashion bloggers posted about this one a few weeks ago.  It is the perfect knockoff, isn’t it?  And for only a tenth of the price?  Sign me up.

Happy shopping!

Wednesday Wish List - Beach Essentials

The countdown to the beach is on!  We are so excited for our annual trip to the gulf and I’m already beginning to think about what to pack.  Packing for a family of four is no easy feat, that’s for sure, so I start making my lists a couple of weeks in advance to ensure that I don’t forget anything.  I actually have a master packing list for each member of our family, and then I alter each list according to the trip that we’re taking.  That makes things a lot easier.

Today I’m discussing all of the things that I like to have for the beach for myself

Sunglasses – I do not go anywhere outside without sunglasses.  I have been wearing sunglasses since I was tiny and I’m confident I will be that way forever.  My eyes are very sensitive to light, and man, when you get out there on those sugary white beaches at the gulf, the sun is even more blinding.  I've had these Old Navy aviators for a few months now and I'm loving them!

All-weather Blanket – It’s always nice to have something to spread out on the ground to put your belongings on, to lay out on, or to let the kids play on if they get tired of the sand.  I am loving this blanket from Amazon… I have been looking for something exactly like it and I’m thinking we may need to make this one ours.

Portable Speaker – Brian bought this JBL Flip Speaker for us a couple of years ago and I cannot say enough great things about it!  We love it so much.  It plays music through Bluetooth so you can just pair it with your phone and BAM, tunes on demand all day long.  The sound is fantastic, it comes with a little carrying case, and it even loops around your arm so you can carry on your wrist when your hands are full.  We carry ours out to the back porch every evening to enjoy music while we’re lounging.  It’s so darn convenient!  And this one is also weather proof so you don’t have to worry if you get a couple of drops of water on it.  Also, it comes in tons of colors!

Swim SuitThis swim suit is ah-mazing.  I don’t even know if color block is still in this season, but I sure don’t even care.  The colors are so gorgeous on this suit and for the price??  Um hello?  Bought.

Cover Up – If you’re self-conscious like me, you don’t like to be walking all over creation in just your swim suit, so I like to wear something light and easy to pull off and put back on.

Beach Hat – Y’all.  I don’t usually wear hats, but I need this one right now!  NOW.  I part my hair the same exact way every day and my hair is not super thick, so my part and scalp are constantly getting burned since I also don’t like putting sunscreen in my hair.  This should solve that problem.  And there are like ten other designs!  I want them all!

Sunscreen – This Neutrogena Clear Face sunscreen is my favorite because it’s not greasy like most others and it is gentle on skin.  I have extremely sensitive skin on my face and I am prone to breakouts, but this stuff leaves me breakout free!

Reading MaterialThis book is already in my beach bag ready to go!

Water Bottle – Y’all know how much I love my S’well bottle.  I am constantly singing its praises here on the blog, so it will be coming with me to the beach.  It keeps liquids cold for 24 hours.  24 hours, y’all!  It is the worst thing to be sitting in the sweltering sun and then have to take a drink of lukewarm water.  Yuck.  This baby will be coming with me to the beach for sure.  And I love this pretty pink color!

Beach Flip Flops – I try not to wear anything fancy shoe-wise down to the beach because obviously the sun, sand, and salt water will likely ruin them.  Therefore, I’m all about the cheap flip flops… look how cute these are!

Beach Towel – This is a no-brainer… ya gotta have something to dry off with!

Beach Umbrella – I do not like being hot, and the older I get, the more I dislike it.  Therefore, I have to have shade at the beach these days.  When I was younger, I never worried about an umbrella, but now I’m all about having a place to cool off and get out of the sun.  And it is also a must to have a place where the kids can get out of the sun as well.

Beach Bag – You have to have something to carry it all in!  And PINEAPPLES!

Cooler – Also a must to keep all of the extra drinks cold.  We have this little one and it holds six water (or beer… hehe) bottles comfortably with plenty of room for ice.  However, it’s tiny enough so that I can actually carry it.  I cannot say the same for most of our other coolers.

Wagon – We don’t have one of these, but I am seriously thinking of getting one eventually.  When you have two kids you are lugging a crap-ton of stuff down to the beach.  In addition to all of the stuff listed above, you also have to factor in loads of beach toys for the kids, and if your kids are anything like mine, they want to be carried through the sand.  Uh… no.  Just not happening… unless we have this wagon!

So what am I missing?  Did I forget anything important?

Only a few more weeks to go and we’ll be on our way!  We’re just waiting on a certain kindergartener to graduate and be done with school.  WAAAAHHHH.

Wednesday Wish List – Sandals for Summer

My name is Lindsay and I’m a cliché because, like most women, I love shoes.

As far as fall and winter attire go, I love closed-toe flats and boots and all that, but there’s just something about summer when aaaallll the sandals come out that makes me want to buy everything.  And I probably already have enough shoes to hold me over for the next thirty years, but that’s beside the point.

Here are some of my favorites for summer... and before I show them to you, can I let you in on a little secret?  All of these are from Target and all but one are under $33.  Can you guess which ones aren’t?

ONE // TWO // THREE
FOUR // FIVE // SIX
SEVEN // EIGHT // NINE

Which ones are your favorite?  I’ve already mentioned several hundred times on the blog that these are my absolute favorite.  I wore them all weekend this past weekend and my feet felt just fine Sunday evening because they are just so darn comfortable.  And for the price, well, you might as well buy them in black and taupe.  That’s what I did!

A girl can truly never have too many shoes.

Although I’m sure my husband would be happy to play devil’s advocate for that argument.  ;o)

Wednesday Wish List – Pom Poms

To say I’m obsessed with pom poms right now would be an understatement.  I’m sure that this will eventually be a trend that I look back on and say, “Why in the world did I wear that?!” (I’m sure some of you are probably already thinking that.  Haha.) but for now I’m loving it and I’m embracing it.  They are just so darn cute and festive for summer and they are perfect to wear to the beach… it’s like a walking partay!

I think I mostly love them because they are bright and cheerful and my love for the colors of the rainbow runs deep.  My friend Jeannine and I used to rainbowtize everything in high school and we were constantly doodling rainbows and rainbow colored things on the notes that we would pass in class.  Things in ROY-G-BIV order make my heart happy.

And when referring to pom poms in this post, I mean the cute ones down below… I’m not talking about anything like this.  Yikes.  Lol.

Here are some of my favorites…

ONE // TWO // THREE // FOUR
FIVE // SIX // SEVEN // EIGHT
NINE // TEN // ELEVEN // TWELVE

This is probably a trend that you either love or you hate… all I know is I love it all!  What are your thoughts?

Wednesday Wish List - Off the Shoulder Tops

Spring started off early here in Georgia this year – in that winter pretty much never came – so we have already been enjoying short sleeves and lighter clothes for quite some time.  However, this week the temperatures have suddenly dipped into the 20s and 30s at night with highs only in the 40s and low 50s during the day, and all of the cold weather has me pulling my sweaters back out and dreaming of all things spring.

I think the thing that I’m most excited about for spring this year is the off the shoulder trend… I have always loved this look – it’s so feminine and classic.  With several concerts and events, date nights, and a beach trip lined up, plus potential trips to Atlanta and Nashville in the coming months, I’ll have lots of excuses to be rocking this trend!

A few of my favorites...

Dresses

   One / Two / Three / Four

Short Sleeves

One / Two / Three / Four

Long Sleeves

One / Two / Three / Four
Blue & White

One / Two / Three / Four

Finally, many people have asked where I got my shirt that I wore in my Lindsay's Sweet World is Two posthere is the link!  It was on sale when I bought it, but it's still only $19 full price!  Can't beat that!

Happy shopping, friends!
