Hey, y’all! Happy Monday! Today I’m sharing Amazon purchases for the month of April.
Record Player Stand
Brian got me a record player for our anniversary back in December and it sat in
the box for months because I had no place to put it. I finally purchased this record player stand
in April when Amazon was having their spring sale, and I got a really good deal
on it. This piece of furniture is
substantial, and the quality is much better than I had anticipated. Honestly, it reminds me of all of the
products that we have purchased from IKEA over the years. We have a TON of Billy Bookcases from IKEA,
and while they were pretty inexpensive, the quality is excellent. This stand was SUPER easy to put
together. It came with explicit
instructions and, again, it was just like putting together a piece of furniture
from IKEA. It has a modern sleek look,
but the legs give it a vintage vibe which is perfect for the aesthetic I was
going for. It comes in five different
finishes, and I decided to grab a white one because white is my favorite for
storage furniture pieces. It has six
open cubes in different sizes, and it can hold around 350 vinyl records. It even has a built-in power strip with three
outlets which is AMAZING because I was able to plug in my record player, our
Bluetooth speaker, and my “Now Playing” light up sign that I purchased for my
records. I couldn’t be more pleased with
it, and I am having way too much fun styling it.
Now Playing Sign
This “Now Playing” record holder is SO FUN, and I couldn’t resist grabbing one
for my stand. It holds several records
at once, and you can display whichever one you’re playing at any given
time. The best part is that it lights up
with the touch of a button AND it plugs into an outlet rather than using
batteries, so I won’t have to worry about changing out batteries. This would make such a great gift for any
music lover!
Rug
We have needed a new rug in our primary bedroom for quite some time, so I used some of my birthday gift card money to purchase this one. Unfortunately, I haven’t had time to unroll it and check it out, so I can’t speak to the quality just yet, but it has fantastic reviews online and it’s from a brand that I love and trust.
Gracie
Abrams The Secret of Us Deluxe Vinyl
I had some birthday money leftover after the rug, so I purchased Gracie Abram’s album The Secret of Us on vinyl because Olivia and I are utterly obsessed with it. It is so, so good. I was so excited to see that it was on vinyl, and the records are a pale, marbly blue… so beautiful!
Cross Body
Bag
My neck and jaw and shoulder tension continues to flare which continues to cause dizziness. I went for a checkup the other day at my ENT’s office, and while I was there, we discussed lots of things and I am doing anything and everything that I can possibly do to alleviate it. It was mentioned that I really shouldn’t be carrying such a large bag (I currently carry a Barrington tote that holds a huge amount of stuff and still has room for a book and my sweater, etc.), so after carrying a large bag my entire life, I’m going to try to pare down to something smaller. I looked at several local stores and couldn’t find exactly what I was looking for, so I ended up purchasing this bag from Amazon. The quality is very nice, the size is perfect, it has three outside zipper pockets and ample room inside, and I’m hoping that I can make it work to use this as my everyday bag going forward. I do love my Barrington totes, and I will continue to use them every time we travel. I also plan to keep my Barrington tote (filled with the items that I don’t move to my new bag) right by the door, so I can just grab it and put my smaller bag in it if I think I’ll need something bigger for the day.
501
Essential Albums of the 90s
I still had gift card money left over after those two purchases, so I bought a couple of books that I’ve had on my wish list for a while because they were on MASSIVE sale on Amazon. I typically order my books through our new local bookshop now, but these were both EIGHTY PERCENT OFF, so I went ahead and grabbed them from Amazon since I still had gift card money to spend. I am a 90s kid, and I had so many of the CDs (and tapes) in this book growing up, so this book was the perfect addition to my record player stand. I absolutely love the format of the book as it’s divided by year, and it provides a little synopsis of each album along with pictures of every album. Man, it brought back so many memories when I was thumbing through it! This would be another great gift for any music lover… especially a music lover who was raised in the 90s. And it totally fits the whole vibe of the record player stand aesthetic… I’m going for colorful, fun, and modern with a slight retro twist.
Behind the
Seams, My Life in Rhinestones by Dolly Parton
This book was in every single store in Nashville, and I wanted to buy it soooo bad, but it retails for $50 so I just couldn’t spend that much money. When Amazon had it on sale for nearly 80% off right after we got home, I couldn’t snatch it up fast enough with the rest of my gift card money. This was another purchase for my record player stand, and I cannot wait to thumb through it this summer when I have more time!
Zipper
Pocket Athletic Shorts
Y’all, if you have a kid with a phone, these athletic shorts are AMAZING because they have zipper pockets, so you don’t have to worry about your kid’s phone falling out of their pocket! Jacob wears athletic shorts all day, every day when he’s not wearing his school uniform, and now that he carries a phone, we’ve found that some of the athletic shorts don’t have pockets big enough to hold his phone. And some of the shorts that DO have room for his phone don’t hold the phone securely, and it can slip out. Jacob had a class field trip to Six Flags a couple of weeks ago, and we knew he’d be riding roller coasters, so we knew it was pertinent that he had a way to keep his phone safe, and these shorts did just the trick. The shorts are lightweight and breathable, they have quick-dry moisture-wicking fabric, and they have an adjustable drawstring. Most importantly, they have two side zipper pockets to keep all items completely safe. They come in five different colors (including khaki if you want a dressier look), and they’re only $9.99!! Jacob LOVES them, so we will be purchasing more pairs for the summer since he has outgrown most of his athletic shorts from last summer.
Flip Flops
Jacob needed new flip flops for summer, and I was so sad to see that Cat & Jack stopped making the traditional flip flops that Jacob has worn every year for the last decade. I found these on Amazon, and they are comparable to the Cat & Jack ones. They’re comfortable (per Jacob), and they come in tons of colors and sizes.
Rash guard
Jacob also needed a new rash guard for summer, and Cat & Jack (the brand we always purchase for him) doesn’t have a white one this year, so we bought this one from Amazon. It has UPF 50+ protection, and it’s very lightweight. It also comes in other colors and it’s very affordable.
Swimsuit
This was a purchase for Olivia’s Easter basket as she was in need of a new swimsuit for summer since she had outgrown a couple of the ones she had last year. We love this brand – she has been using another swimsuit from this brand for the last three years and it’s still in excellent shape – so I bought another one in a different style/pattern. She loves purple right now, and she is in love with this suit!
Ballet Shoes
We just found out that Olivia has to have a pair of white ballet shoes in addition to a pair of pink ballet shoes for her recital, so I had to purchase another pair. In the past, she’s always had to have one pair of ballet shoes for her recital, and depending on what color they needed to be, we would just spray her current ones to match. Well, this year, she’s taking ballet and pre-pointe, and she has to have two different colors to match her two different costumes. Instead of buying a new pair of white ones that I knew she’d only wear once, I bought a new pair of pink ones in the next size up, so she can wear them in the recital AND next year for all of her ballet and pre-pointe classes. And we’re going to spray her old pink ones white for the recital. They are getting too small and wouldn’t make it through another year of dance anyway, so this made the most sense all around. We love this brand… she’s worn them for years and they last for an entire year of dance for her.
Oil Pastels
Olivia randomly mentioned that she wanted some pastels right before Easter, so I hopped on Amazon and bought these to put in her Easter basket. She has been using them nonstop since then and she has done some beautiful work!
Mochis
Anyone else’s kids obsessed with Mochis as much as Olivia and her classmates? I do not understand the craze, but she loves them. She wanted to use her own money to buy some, so she bought this set.
Mochis Set 2
She also used her own money to purchase this set. These things are going to be all over my house soon. Sigh. Lol.
Brown
Extension Cord
There is no outlet directly behind my record player stand, so I had to run a cord from the dining room to the record player stand about four feet away. Our floors are dark brown, so I wanted something that would blend in with the ground as the white one I had looked utterly ridiculous. I searched high and low in town, and nobody has brown ones anymore, so I turned to Amazon because, of course, they had one. The cord now blends in with my floor, and it’s hardly noticeable now.
Turmeric
It was time for a refill for my beloved turmeric, and Amazon always has the best price, so I grabbed another bottle.
Xyzal
Tis the season for allergies to be raging, and it was time for a refill of Xyzal… it’s all I use because it works much better than Claritin for me. Again, Amazon always has the best price, so I bought it from there.
Happy Monday, y’all!
