Happy Friday, y’all!  It was another great week, and I’m sharing some favorites on the blog today… saving the best for last.  ;o)

O N E – Excellent Basic Tee with a Little Bit of Flair

I mentioned this top in my Amazon recap last week, and I thought I’d share it again today because some of the sizes and colors are on SUPER sale for just $8.49!  I have now worn my red one and I absolutely LOVE it.  I ended up buying it in a couple more colors this week since it’s so deeply discounted.  The quality is great for the price, it doesn’t wrinkle or shrink, and the ruffles on the sleeves stay set in place through washing and drying.  Some of my ruffled sleeved shirts are a pain because I have to air dry them and lay them out perfectly with the sleeves pressed down and out to make sure they hold their shape.  Not for this shirt!  It comes in a ton of other colors and it’s true to size… I ordered a small and I like that it’s somewhat fitted, but not skintight. This is the perfect top to wear if you want to look put together and be comfortable at the same time.  And you can pair it with literally anything – shorts, jeans, dress pants, pencil skirts, fluttery skirts, long skirts, short skirts… it is the perfect “basic” tee but with a little flair on the sleeves.  Oh, and this brand is always a winner!  I have so many tops, sweaters, and tanks by them, and they are all great!

T W O – Say You’ll Remember Me by Abby Jimenez

This is the second book that I’ve read by Abby Jimenez, and y’all I loved it soooo much.  I fell in love with both characters instantly.  Their banter throughout the book is so real and fun, and I was rooting for them the entire time.  There were some deeper life things woven into the storyline that made it a little more meaty than most other chick lit books, and it was a beautiful story.  This one gets five stars from me!  And apparently there is a second book on deck in 2026.

T H R E E – Bible Studies

For several weeks, I wasn’t allowed to do anything that involved keeping my neck turned or bent for any length of time, so I took a few weeks off from my Bible studies, much to my dismay.  I was finally able to resume a week ago, and I’m enjoying reading again so much.  I’ve mentioned here that I’m doing The Bible in a Year with Father Mike this year, and I am loving it.  Every afternoon, I grab a cup of tea, and I sit down with my Bible, my study, and my pens and highlighters, and I read the passages in the Bible followed by the two-page spread in the study, and then I take notes or doodle in my Bible.  Then, I also listen to the corresponding day on the podcast in the Hallow app.  I love having my routine back again, and I’m even more grateful that my routine no longer includes horrible neck tension, dizziness, headaches, brain fog, and occasional difficulty reading because… my upper cervical chiropractor has healed me from all of those things!

F O U R – AI Cozy Spaces

For some reason, random AI generated cozy spaces keep showing up in my Facebook and Instagram feeds even though I don’t follow any accounts like that, but I screenshotted two of them, because they are such a dream!!  I’m a sucker for a small, cozy space (the reason I love my office so much!), and I could TOTALLY see myself living in either of these places… especially the first one!  This is such a random favorite, I know, but I thought y’all might like to see them in case you’re ready for some cozy fall vibes.  I fought the end of summer break for so long because I wasn’t ready for the kids to go back to school, but now that they’re there, I’m all in for fall!

F I V E – Taylor’s NEW ALBUM

Yes, yes, I’m saving the best for last today!!!!  Y’all know that I am a HUGE Swiftie, and I swear, my love for that girl only continues to grow, so when she dropped a new album announcement August 12, I was elated!  I thought for sure she would wait until 2026 to drop something since she has barely taken any time off since ending her two year Eras Tour run, but I guess I should have known she was working in the background all along… that’s just who she is!  She must never take time off.

Anyway, I happened to see the countdown on her website on August 11 just as Brian and I were about to go to sleep and I didn’t know what they were counting down to, but I knew it had to be something big.  The countdown ended at 12:12 AM on August 12, so yes, yes, I did set an alarm for 12:11 AM to see what it was all about.

I couldn’t order my vinyl fast enough, y’all.  And the album title – The Life of a Showgirl – YES.  All of the vibes and Easter eggs (IYKYK) are pointing to this album being an upbeat, fun, pop anthem album (similar to 1989 and Rep), and I cannot tell you how excited I am that we may have upbeat Taylor back!

Don’t get me wrong, I looooveeee her serious, sad albums the absolute most – Folklore is her magnum opus in my opinion, and The Tortured Poets Department Anthology comes in a verrrry close second.  They are two of my favorite albums of all time by any artist ever.  And I feel like they corresponded with my moods during the years they were released… 2020 for Folklore when the world was dealing with a pandemic, and 2024 for TTPD when my mental health was failing from dealing with vertigo and all of the other issues for so long with no resolution in sight.

Those albums were perfect for my life vibes at the time, but now that I’m finally starting to come out of the funk that I’ve been in for a couple of years due to my chronic vertigo/pain issues I’m ready for some upbeat bangers, y’all!!!!  Taylor always seems to know what we need.  ;o)

Also, I looooveeee how all the brands started jumping on board and changing all of their logos to sparkly orange in her honor!  SO GOOD.
