Five On Friday - Christmas Roundup

If you’re anything like me, you’ve probably been running around like a madwoman (or madman… do I have any dude readers on here besides Brian??) prepping everything for Christmas – decorating, shopping, wrapping… you know the drill.

I’ve been so busy that I’ve gotten a little behind on some of my blog reading, so I thought that for today’s post I would round up a few of my most recent Christmas related topics and lump them into one post for all of you who might also be playing catch-up.

Last Friday I posted my Top Gift Picks for Each Important Person on Your List… there’s a little something for the man in your life, the little boy in your life, the little girl in your life, your best girlfriend, and your co-workers.  Happy shopping!

I’m very passionate about Christmas and Christmas music.  If you love Christmas music as much as I do then you will probably appreciate my Ultimate Christmas Playlist.  I’m sharing 25 of my favorite versions of Christmas songs… during these last few years I’ve stumbled upon some versions to the classics that I had never heard before, and they are incredible.

In addition to my playlist, I’m also sharing my list of the Christmas albums that you must have in your collection.

Are there any that you love that I missed?

We like to do every Christmasy thing possible during the Christmas season.  I put a list together of all of our favorite traditions along with a couple of new ones that we would like to try this year.  You can see our Christmas Bucket List here.

Need a simple and cheap idea to spruce up your mantle or a wall for the holiday season?  Then check out my DIY Polka Dot Bunting.  You can use any colors, patterns, and textures of paper that you want so the possibilities are endless!  Hanukkah?  Christmas?  New Years?  Just change out the paper and create away!

While this may sound odd that I’m including this in a Christmas roundup, Hubs and I celebrated eight years of marriage this past Tuesday!  I love that we had our wedding during the Christmas season… I’m sure that a lot of people probably thought we were crazy for doing that since it’s already so busy, but I loved that I got to have my dream wedding right smack in the middle of my favorite time of the year.  Incorporating Christmas decorations and lots of twinkle lights made for a very magical evening, and I’ll forever associate our special day with the Christmas season.  You can read more about it here.

And speaking of our anniversary, Hubs and I didn’t get to do anything alone on our special day, so we’re both taking today off, taking the kiddos to school, and we’re going to spend the entire day together eating, shopping, and watching a movie.  I cannot wait for eight uninterrupted hours with my favorite!

But before I get too excited, he’s been super sick all week with aches, chills, fever, cough, and runny nose – the whole nine yards – so I’m praying that he’s feeling better... and that Olivia is as well as she's been under the weather again this week.

If not, I guess I’ll just be heading off to work like any other Friday while the sickies stay at home.  Boooo.

Have a fantastic weekend, lovelies!

  1. I've been behind in blog reading as well, but I'll always pop over here to see what you've got going on! :) I really loved your gift list ideas, they were all great! You really know Christmas music too! I think I need to look into your suggestions, listening to our local radio station that plays Christmas music can get a little annoying because they play the same 3 songs it seems around the clock! I really hope Brian is better so you guys can enjoy your day! Olivia too! Ughhh sickness sickness go away! I hope you have a great weekend girl! xo
