A Weekend to Relax

Friday evening, guess what finally arrived?!  My beloved red dress that I had wanted to wear to the ball last weekend.  Only a week too late.  I decided to go ahead and try it on, and you guys, it is stunning.  Mine was just a bit too tight, so I’m not sure if I would have worn it or not, but for free exchanges and for this price, you better believe I’m exchanging it for a larger size and finding some other event to wear it for!  And on a side note, if you ever order anything from Shein.com, be sure to order not one, but two sizes up!  Sheesh.  I’m typically a small, but I ordered this red dress in medium, and I’ll be exchanging it for the large.  That is just crazy.

The weather decided to turn cold and dreary Friday and I’ve been fighting a cold all week, so we stayed in.  B picked up a pizza, we poured some wine, and then we snuggled on the couch with the babies and watched Masha and the Bear.  Have you guys ever seen it?  It’s on Netflix and our kids love it.  After the babies went to bed, B and I watched another episode of The OA and another episode of GG.  We’re trucking right along and still loving both!

Saturday morning B had tennis, but not before picking up donuts and coffee!!  I snuggled on the couch with the babies while I finished my coffee, and then I took the rest of the morning to clean out Olivia’s bedroom.  She was long overdue for a purging… she still had some 18 months clothes in her closet, so I guess it’s been about a year and a half since I last went through her clothes.  I sorted them into donate, keepsake, and sell piles, and then I also cleaned out all of her old baby items that we no longer need.  Bye bye Pack N Play, changing table pad, bibs, and receiving blankets!  It felt great to get it all cleaned out, but man, is it sad to see all of the baby things slowly making their exit from our house.  :o(

The Before... EEEEK!

We also worked on a little photo shoot for one of our favorite products.  You can see more info on my Instagram page.

Several people have recently asked how it’s going with Olivia and her sleeping in her new bed.  Well, let me just sum it up for you right here:

Yep, she’s still trying to escape some of the time, and Saturday afternoon was no exception.  B had to go sit with her and it turns out that he just wanted to take a little nap, too.  Apparently tennis wears you out when you’re almost 39.  ;o)

Saturday evening was church and then dinner with my parents at our favorite barbecue joint, and then cozying up by the fire for more TV until it was time to Nyquil myself and say goodnight.

Sunday we spent the early afternoon with B’s family for lunch.  Unfortunately it was rainy and yucky so the kids weren’t able to get out in the yard for some fresh air.  Instead, they took to tearing around Nana and Poppie’s house like little banshees.

Sunday evening we went over to my grandmother’s house because she hosted a Super Bowl party.  We pull for the Falcons, and when they’re finally in the Super Bowl, you have to go all out to celebrate!  We spent the evening sipping on Strawberry Limeade Margaritas that Lily posted the other day, and enjoying all of the food, football, commercials, and family time.

Happy Monday!  I hope you’re not too hungover tired after yesterday’s festivities!

  2. I love purging. It always makes me feel so good and sometimes I need to rein myself back in a bit and remember that some things may be needed still. Ha ha! Sounds like a great weekend!

  4. I love that red dress - I definitely would order the other size and keep it. Just so pretty! You did some damage in Olivia's room on Saturday - that's impressive. It almost got me motivated to clean mine out when I saw it on insta. :)

  8. Yay for your weekend! Oh my gosh, that dress. Forget about waiting to wear it... Heck, you should wear that dress to the grocery store! It's beautiful! I agree, it feels soooo good to purge. Especially in the kiddos' rooms. Sidenote - I've always wondered what Olivia's closet looks like. I'm in the middle of re-organizing Eliza's closet since she changes her outfit at least three times a day. :0. Oh and one more thing - I can't wait for your link-up!! I know it's from Friday, but I just wanted to tell you that I'm soooo excited to link-up with all of you amazing ladies!!! Eek! Can't wait!!!

  9. Hungover, lololol! That dress is amazing on you and you are anything but large. So crazy when sizes are so off like that. I NEED to purge the girls rooms but have zero motivation to do so. I am thinking I may hold off until spring when I can open some windows up. I hate being cooped up in their rooms in the midst of the mess.

That red dress is amazing! Too bad it didn't come in time! I HAVE to go through the girls' closets, I swear there are still 2T clothes in Ella's drawers LOL
