Five on Friday – Favorites

Happy Friday, you guys!  Ever have one of those weeks where you are a day ahead every single day?  That was my week this week!  All day Wednesday I kept thinking it was Thursday and then all day Thursday I kept thinking it was Friday.  I’m so glad that it finally is Friday now!

This week was super busy.  In addition to the everyday things like being a wife and mommy, working, cooking, cleaning, and working out, I’ve also been preparing for Valentine’s Day, Brian’s birthday, and Olivia’s birthday which has meant aaaallll the errands.  We have also been nursing Maui back to health after her teeth cleaning and extractions on Monday – feeding her special meals at certain times, swishing her mouth out with special doggie mouthwash twice a day, giving her an antibiotic twice a day, and giving her a pain pill once a day… it’s been a lot to remember!

Not to mention that I joined two exciting link ups (you can see the posts here and here) in the blog world this week, so I’ve been doing more back and forth communication with my bloggy friends than usual.  (And thank you, by the way, to all of you who linked up yesterday!  We will be back March 9 talking about a time when we were really lucky.  I hope that you will join us again!)

But anyhoo, it’s definitely been hectic over here, but it’s (mostly) been a good kind of hectic.  And if you missed that whole Maui saga, you can catch up on the details in my Day in the Life post from Monday.  (I love these posts, but they are just so exhausting to put together and to read!  Ha!)

Anyway, let’s get started on a few favorites for today…

O N E – Letter Board

Yep, this is on here again.  I mean, how could it not be?!  If y’all don’t already have one you should totally get one!  And I’m not even getting paid or compensated in any way to say this.  I just love this thing.  And I promise that you won’t see it every single week in my Friday post.  Ok, I’ll try to not have it in my post every Friday.  Maybe...  Hehe.

T W O – VDay Goodies for Yourself

Did you see my post about Valentine’s Day yesterday?  I thought that I would share all of this goodness again today just in case.  :o)  Because who doesn’t want to treat themselves to a pair of Be Wine PJs?!

T H R E E – The Bday Shirt Has Arrived!

Remember when I posted this picture last week and asked for your votes?

Well, I had pretty much decided on the one on the right because I love that it shows the full dress (I mean, the dress is the essence of Belle!), until I realized that the lead time before shipping was at least 1-2 weeks.  Womp womp.  We don’t have that kind of time, so I went with the one on the left.  I am so glad that we did, because we already received the shirt and it is perfect!  If you need anything similar, go see Brenda at BusyBeesStitches on Etsy.  And no, this is not sponsored either.  I just love giving small businesses the shout outs that they deserve!

Olivia was, by the way, enamored with her shirt, and she’s asked me no less than ten times since Tuesday how many more days until her birthday so she can wear it.

F O U R – And Speaking of Shirts…

Remember this sweet little 100 Day shirt that Jacob and I worked so hard on a couple of weeks ago?

Wanna see what it looked like the very same day that he came home from school?

LOL.  96 Legos fell off during the day… only 4 survived.

F I V E – No-Reply Bloggers

Well, this is actually not one of my favorite things, but I have some new followers around these parts so I wanted to bring this up.

I absolutely adore your comments on my blog.  It truly means the world to me when you take a couple of minutes out of your busy day to stop by and say hi, but I get so sad when I try to respond and I get this instead of a real email address:

noreply-comment@blogger.com

I respond to each and every comment that comes through (aside from spam, of course… #AintNobodyGotTimeFoDat) and I just want the ladies who don't ever get responses to know… I’m not ignoring you!  If you are a no-reply blogger, I always respond to your comments directly on my blog, but you will never see them unless you subscribe to the comments for the post that you leave the comment on.

To see if you’re a no-reply blogger and to learn how to fix it you can check out this tutorial:

Fun fact, I used to be a no-reply blogger and I didn’t even know that I was until a couple of my sweet blogger friends told me.  Blogger recently made some changes and got rid of everyone’s home page, so I’m not even sure if this tutorial still works, but it’s worth a try!  If you are wondering if you are a no-reply blogger, send me an email (from your email address, not in the blog comments) and I will be happy to let you know!

Finally, for those of you who are battling the snowstorms up north, I’m a little jealous of your snow!  If you need a little weekend pick-me-up, check out this hot chocolate recipe that I posted about on Tuesday.  If your kids love Frozen, then it is a must-make!

Happy weekend, ladies!

  15. I love that letter board. I need one in my life. It has been a crazy hectic week. And a week full of tons of rain here. I am so ready for spring weather. I can't wait to see Olivia's shirt.

  16. I have been loving everyone's letter boards and I really feel like I need to pick one up! I still love all your Valentine's Day PJ finds. Hahah, Jacobs shirt. At least it looked cute for school! Hope you all have a great weekend xo Beautifully Candid

  17. I love your letter board! LOL to Jacob's shirt. I can't believe almost every single Lego fell off! I'm bad at replying to no reply bloggers. I'll actually respond via e-mail a lot of times and my response obviously just goes off to nowhere. I never think to reply on my blog itself.

  18. I must get a letter board! My chalkboard skills are not that impressive. Haha! His shirt made me laugh. My friend sent me a similar picture of her daughter's shirt, which they worked so hard on. Only 5 stars stayed put! Hope you have a great weekend!

    1. Girl, I am LOVING it. It's so much fun! And so easy to change unlike my hour long chalkboard sessions. Ha!

And yes, so crazy about the shirt! We knew it would happen, but not to that extent. Lol.

  19. That is so sad that almost all of his legos came off :( I was shocked when my daughter came home with all of her pompoms still on the shirt. I just fixed my "blogger" account so hopefully I get your replys now. Finger crossed.

  20. Ha, that's so funny that all his legos came off his shirt. At least hopefully everyone got to see it in the morning. Wonder if they ended up building something in class, haha. Hope you guys have an amazing weekend. Can't wait to see Olivia's shirt!

  21. Yeah, it can be difficult with no-reply bloggers, especially if they have asked a question that you really want to answer. I don't tend to reply on my blog, but I DO always visit the other person's blog and comment there. I think it's a nice thing to do and I meet new people that way!

Love Olivia's shirt. Too cute. And oh no! So many legos gone. haha It was nice when it started though!

  22. Love that princess shirt! It's perfect and that 100 Lego shirt made me LOL. I read so many funny stories about 100th day of school shirt disasters this year. Maybe I should start sewing buttons on a shirt for Olive now :) Hope you have a great weekend!!

  26. Love the letter board! I'm asking for one for my birthday! Can't wait. I agree about no reply bloggers. I feel bad when I can send them a comment back. Hope you're having a great weekend.

  27. No replies drove me up the wall! That is actually why I switched to Disqus I just became way to annoyed. You have SO much going on. I hope the weekend has been good to you!

  28. Oh my gosh! His shirt?! I would have been a bit peeved. But I mean it's just a shirt for one single day but dang!

  29. OMG that Elsa "Frozen" drink sounds so good and looks exactly like the Frozen little princess. Congrats on your new monthly linkup. I linked up and even mentioned it on my blog post yesterday. Welcome by and check it out.

Thank you for taking the time to comment... I read and respond to each and every one! However, if you are a no-reply blogger (meaning that your email address is not connected to your Blogger account), I will not be able to reply to you directly via email... you will have to check back on the blog post for a response!
