Five on Friday - Bible Tabs, Bible Journaling, Cross Bracelets, Threads, and THANK YOU!

Hey, y’all!  Happy Friday!  Unfortunately, I’ve been struggling with a terrible bout of vertigo this week, and it has been the worst thing ever.  I’m currently on day four as you read this, so I’m definitely struggling to find the “happy” in happy Friday.

There are several things this week that did make me happy despite my issues, though, so let’s focus on those, shall we?

O N E – New Bible Tabs

On Monday, the day before all of this vertigo started, I was finally able to take the time to get the tabs on my new Bible, and y’all, they are sheer perfection.  While it did take a good hour to apply all of them, the process was easy thanks to the guide that came with them in the shipment.  The guide showed me exactly where to put each of them on the pages, so I was able to get them lined up perfectly straight, and that, my friends, makes my Type A heart happier than it probably should.  Haha.

The tabs themselves are just stunning.  The set that I purchased comes in four different shades, all pink/rose/mauve neutrals, and the books of the Bible are embossed in rose gold.  The font size is the same for every single book (which I LOVE), and they are sturdy and nice.  If you are in need of a nice set of tabs for your Bible, look no further than these.  They make me so happy!

They come in several different colorways, too, if you don’t love this pink pack.

T W O – My First Bible Journaling Experience

And speaking of my Bible, that same day, I finally took the time to sit down with my new The Bible Recap book, and I read my first entry.  I also took about 30 additional minutes to take some notes and make some doodles in my new journaling Bible, and I absolutely love how it turned out.  It’s imperfectly perfect, just like we are.

Going through the whole process from reading the Bible passages, to reading The Bible Recap excerpt from the day, to taking notes, to doodling took about an hour, and I loved every single second of it.  I even learned something new already, just one day in.  It was so relaxing spending time in God’s word, and I’m really looking forward to doing it more often this way.  I had been experiencing some pretty intense anxiety prior to sitting down and doing this, and by the time I had finished, the anxiety had melted away.

Now if I could just get rid of this vertigo so I could get back to it!  I tried to get into it again the night before last, but reading is really hard for me right now since my eyes are so weird and wiggly.  So I’m patiently waiting for this vertigo to clear up so I can dig in again.

T H R E E – Cross Bracelets

I bought these bracelets recently, and I’ve been wearing them 24/7 since then.  They are made by the popular baby brand Ryan and Rose, and they are absolutely beautiful in person.  They come in packs of five, and there are several different options for colorways.

The bracelets are made of silicone, so you can wear them all the time, get them wet, get them dirty, etc. and they clean right up.  I literally never take mine off.  I have been showering and sleeping in them.  They come in different sizes so you can get the fit you want, and I actually went with the extra-small (which is advertised as the kids size – haha), but they fit me perfectly.  They sit very close to my wrist all the way around, so they don’t move around a lot, but they’re not snug like a watch either.  They’re just perfect… and they’re very inexpensive, too!  I love this new addition to my bracelet stack!

They would make a wonderful gift for a new baptized adult or child, and they would make excellent stocking stuffers for Christmas, too!

F O U R – I’m on Threads!

Well, I swore I wasn’t going to join another social media platform, yet here we are.  Hahahaha.  I drank the Kool aid last Saturday, but y’all, I have to say, I’m really liking it!  Threads is basically a Twitter clone, but instead of being filled with toxicity and junk, it’s filled with positivity and good stuff.  It’s totally giving me Facebook 2006/2007 vibes… you know, like when everyone was posting random quotes, song lyrics, and status updates about the random things they were thinking or doing.  All that’s missing is 84,000 picture uploads from nights out at the club.  Lol.

If you’re on there, come find me!  I'll be posting different stuff on there than I do here on the blog or on Instagram!

F I V E – An Outpouring of Love, Blessings, and Advice

I know I’ve said this before, but I’m going to say it again – y’all are simply the best and I’m so grateful for this community!  On Tuesday, I went on Instagram stories to talk about my vertigo and to ask for advice, and I swear, my phone started blowing up instantly with DMs, text messages, phone calls, and even emails from y’all sending advice, sending love and prayers, and generally commiserating and letting me know that I’m not alone.

I received no less than 50 messages from y’all on Instagram alone, and I truly appreciate it from the bottom of my heart that so many of you took time out of your week to check on me.  I am currently trying #allthethings to get this resolved, and I’m grateful for each and every one of your messages, prayers, and suggestions.

Thank you.

Thank you.

Thank you.

  6. Still praying for you to get past this awful vertigo stuff! Like you don't have enough to do already this summer, right?!! It'll pass soon! I LOVE The Bible Recap! It takes me 40 minutes to do it each day and I have the actual book, study guide AND journal. Sometimes I will also listen to the Podcast for that day, because she says a little more in it sometimes. Ha, ha! I'm hooked! I did take a week off from it this summer, but I'm back at it! Those Bible chapter tabs look super helpful, I am going to check them out right now!

  7. Thinking of you and your vertigo! I've had it for like a few minutes one time, and I can't imagine days of it. I'm glad you were able to get into your ENT doc and have some plans in place. Positive vibes for you!
