Five on Friday - July Goals

Today I’m recapping my June goals and listing my July goals.  As always, I’m using a Y for YES and N for NO to indicate whether or not I accomplished my goals.

 June Goals

Relationships

N  Go on a date with Brian. – never made the time to do this, so hopefully we can make up for it in July.

Y  Go to dinner/do something fun with my girls.

Y  Have a poker night with friends.

Y  Have dinner with friends at the beach.

Y  Be very intentional with my time with the kids.

Y  Spend lots of time playing piano with Jacob.

Y  Spend lots of time just “being” with Olivia as quality time is one of her love languages.

N  Go to a movie with my Momma. – The movie we wanted to see left the theater before we had the chance, and there’s nothing else that we want to see.  :o(

Personal/Health/Wellness/Fitness/Beauty

Y  Meditate, quiet time, and affirmations every day.

Y  Drink 64 oz. water most days.

N  Close all rings on my Apple Watch 24 days. – I only closed them all 22 times.  I was close several other days, but missed out.

N  Aim to average 10,000/steps per day. – I averaged 9,814 steps per day, so I was close.  Most days I hit at least 10,000, but I had a couple of really lazy days that ruined my average.

Y  Visit with my therapist.

Y  Go to my orthodontist checkup.

Y  Go for my annual well checkup with my new general practitioner.

N  Practice piano several times per week. – I practiced a few times overall, but not several times per week.

N  Continue journaling. – I also didn’t make time for this either.

Y  Purchase a new journaling Bible.

N  Create a perfume roller from oils.

Y  Read 5 books. – I read five!

Family/Fun

Y  Go to the beach!!

Y  Resume piano and voice lessons after a monthlong break.

Y  Celebrate Father’s Day.

X  Take Olivia to her nine year well visit. – Her doctor’s office had to move the appointment, so this was out of our control, and therefore, removed from the list.

Y  Kids start and finish half of summer homework. – Yes!  Jacob is more than halfway done with his summer reading book, and he’s about halfway through his IXL work.  Olivia read her entire book + completed her book report, and she has completed more than half of her IXL work, so she is more than halfway through.  I guess all of those rainy days we’ve had were good for something.

Y  Go to the pool a lot! – We went once, y’all.  Once.  Haha.  Then it rained for two weeks straight and then the pool was green for the rest of the month and we couldn’t swim at all.  Giving ourselves a yes for this since we went as much as we possibly could.  Again, this one was just out of our control.

Y  Have some playdates and sleepovers. – We had lots of playdates and Olivia slept over at a friend’s house for the first time ever.  That was technically July 1, but we’re just going to let it ride for this month.

Y  Visit the new brewery in town.

Y  See a movie in the theater. – We saw the new live action The Little Mermaid and it was fabulous!

Y  Make some fun red, white, and blue bracelets for 4th of July.

N  Make a fun summer treat.

Y  Plant sunflowers. – Well, we did, but we think the rain washed all of the seeds away.  Sigh.

N  Ride bikes. – The weather was stormy for two weeks straight and then we went straight into extreme heat near the hundreds, so nope, we didn’t make time for this either.

Home/Organization/Planning

Y  Finish packing for beach trip.

Y  Order school uniforms for next school year.

Y  Trim and replant plants in our bedroom.

X  Pressure wash the driveway and sidewalk. – My uncle’s pressure washer is broken unbeknownst to me, so I didn’t realize that we didn’t have access to a pressure washer.  Therefore, this one had to be removed from the list as well.

Y  Put down pinestraw in all of the landscaping areas.

Y  Clean out lunchbox station in the kitchen since we won’t need them next schoolyear.

N  Put a new strand of lights on the tree in the living room.

N  Clean out closet under stairs.

Y  Clean out Jacob’s whole bedroom.

N  Clean out kids’ bathroom.

N  List all spring/summer clothes on Poshmark.

N  Complete 1 task on Master To Do List.

Blog/Social Media

Y  Post on the blog 3 times per week.

Y  Share at least 1 Reel on Instagram.

Y  Continue filling in Ode to 2023 blog post as the year progresses.

Y  Discontinue daily to-do lists on Instagram for the summer.

Y  Share daily life more often on Instagram stories.

Y  Share summer lunches on Instagram stories.
