Five on Friday - July Goals

I blinked and June is over.  Let’s see how I did on my goals and then we’ll get into the new goals for July…

As always, I’m using a Y for YES and N for NO to indicate whether or not I accomplished my goals.



June Goals

Relationships/Connect

Y  Start doing Sunday lunch with my MIL and step-FIL again.
Y  Start doing Sunday dinner with my parents again.
Y  Visit with my bro, SIL, niece, and nephew for my nephew’s birthday.
Y  Celebrate my birthday with my parents.  Finally.
Y  Celebrate Mother’s Day with my Mom.  Finally.
                                                                                      
Personal/Health/Wellness/Fitness/Beauty

Y  Meditate most days. – I only missed 3 days when we were on vacation.
Y  Quiet time most days. – I only missed 3 days when we were on vacation.
Y  Drink 64 oz. water most days.
Y  Run once or twice. – I got 2 runs in!
Y  Close all of my rings on my Apple Watch every day except for when on vacation.
Y  Visit dentist for a semi-annual cleaning.
Y  Get my hair cut and highlighted!!!!  Finally!
Y  Get my chipped tooth fixed… again. 
Y  Visit the eye doctor for a check-up and order new contacts. 
Y  Decrease therapy appointments to once per month. 
Y  Read 3 books. – I read 5!!
Y  Help with a project for the kids’ school.
Y  Continue embracing quarantine, focus on the positive things, make the most of it.

Family

Y  Pick up all of the kids’ things from school.
Y  Get Jacob’s hair cut.
Y  Get Maui groomed.
Y  GO TO THE BEACH (while also staying safe).
Y  Take Olivia to her six-year old well visit.
Y  Celebrate Father’s Day.
Y  Olivia take live Zoom ballet lessons.
Y  Attend Olivia’s second dance recital.
Y  Wash our vehicles with the kids.
Y  Work on teaching the kids how to ride bikes without training wheels.
N  Meditate with the kids.
N  Life skills refreshers for the kids – how to wash hands, brush teeth, tie shoes properly.
Y  Continue reading daily devotional with the kids.
Y  Play in the pool in the back yard.
Y  Look into booking private swimming lessons for the kids. – My cousin is going to do private lessons for us!  Woo hoo!
Y  Watch the CNN/Sesame Street Standing Up to Racism Town Hall with the kids.
Y  Talk to the kids about racism and everything that is going on in the world right now.
Y  Preorder/buy/add our name to the library waiting list for books about racism.

Home

N  Spray paint travel frames white and hang in bedroom.
N  Complete 2 things on Master To-Do list. – I did 0 this month.  Whoops.

Sunday lunches with my in-laws.

Call/text old coworkers and check in with them.

Meditate every day.
Quiet time every day.
Drink 64 oz. water every day.
Close all rings on my Apple Watch at least 20 days.
Read 2 books for fun.
Start reading White Fragility
Start reading Get Out of Your Head.
Visit with therapist via Zoom.
Donate blood/test for Covid-19 antibodies.
Visit the allergist for my 6-month checkup.

Family

Pick up kids’ yearbooks from school.
Celebrate July 4th.
Celebrate Jacob’s 9th birthday!
Register Olivia for 2020-2021 dance classes (assuming they have them and it’s safe).
Sign Jacob up for fall baseball (we’ll see how this goes).
Work on teaching the kids how to ride bikes without training wheels.
Meditate with the kids.
Life skills refreshers for the kids – how to wash hands, brush teeth, tie shoes properly.
Kids take swimming lessons with my cousin.
Buy new uniforms for back-to-school.
Find some things to do that allow us to (safely) get out of the house.
Start looking at mountain houses to rent for fall break (if it’s safe to do).

Home

Change air filter.
Clean out kids’ closets.
Test drive 1-2 SUVs I have my eye on (only if we can do this safely).
Spray paint travel frames white and hang in bedroom.
Transfer pictures and videos from last few months to hard drives and Amazon drive.
Complete 2 things on Master To-Do list.

  2. Way to go with the apple watch rings. I'm loving mine and always close my exercise and standing rings. The move ring is harder for me though. Do you know what it actually measures? Have a happy 4th!

  3. You did great on your goals this past month, especially being on vacation for a week! That always gets me off track. :) Your mention of fall in your July goals has me ready for it, haha! Back to school, fall baseball, your fall mountain trip - fingers crossed!
