My Style

If you have been reading my blog for a while you probably know by now just how much I love fashion.  I’m definitely no fashion blogger by any means, but I do love to document my outfits because I think it will be fun to look back on one day to see how my style evolves.  Plus it’s always fun just to reminisce about the olden days.  I saw that Andrea had a link-up about style today, so I decided to jump right on it!

If I had to describe my style, I would say that it’s classic with a pinch of trendy.  While I love a good trend (leggings and tunics with a big scarf, anyone?), I also like to stick to the basics like pencil skirts, classic blouses, and button down shirts because I don’t want to cringe one day when I look back at everything that I wore.  Although I’m sure there are some things that we will all question one day… fringe boots, as much as I love you now, I have a feeling I’ll probably look back one day and wonder what the heck I was thinking.

Just for fun, at the beginning of this year I decided that I was going to try to get through the entire year without repeating any exact same outfit.  This means that I can wear the same pieces over and over, but each time I wear them I have to pair them with different bottoms or different shoes or different jewelry… mixing and matching if you will.  Take for example my pale pink pants that I bought a couple of months ago – I’ve worn the everloving mess out of them these last two months, but each time I’ve worn them, I’ve changed up the entire look by pairing them with a different shirt, shoes, and jewelry.

So far I’m four and half months into the year and I haven’t repeated an exact outfit yet.  At least I don’t think so.  It gets hard to keep track of once you get this far in…

  6. Lindsay, girlfriend, your style is amazing! I loooove that coral top, by the way.

I think I own one pair of jeans, one pair of leggings and maybe four pairs of shoes. LOL! It's sad. It's really sad. Although your style posts always inspire me! Love it! Perhaps someday I'll actually own a few pairs of jeans! Ha!

    1. It's OK, I own a few pairs of jeans but I only wear one. What is it about having that FAVORITE pair that makes you want to never wear any of the others?! That's exactly why I wanted to start this different outfit a day challenge because I wanted to force myself to wear everything in my closet! Plus it's helping me weed out some stuff that I've been hanging on to forever that I really don't even want anymore. Lol.

  7. Stopping by from Tuesday Talk, oh my goodness you are just too cute, and I know we just met but can we be best friends so I can borrow your closet :) I decided in March that I was going to wear everything in my closet once (minus pants, because who had that many pants/bottoms?). I'm almost to the end of my shirts and dresses (that aren't old bridesmaids dresses). I'm not sure what I'm going to do after this....I have found a lot of things I am never going to wear and doing this challenge has helped me to donate a lot of stuff...pairing down the closet so I can get more, hehe.

  10. I love your fashion sense!! That's the one thing I want to work on - I have pieces that I love how they look together so I don't bother trying to pair them with other things!! xo, Biana -BlovedBoston

  12. Wow good job! I need to do that so that I actually wear 90% of my clothes! I used to do that in high school and made it through pretty much every year without wearing the same thing, people thought I was crazy haha

    1. The NY sweater was from the kids department at H&M so it was only $7! Can't beat that!

  17. I repeat outfits a lot. I wish I could change it up more, but I don't. I need to buy a few more things for both work and play and maybe I could do that.
