Favorite Blog Posts

This Show and Tell Tuesday’s prompt from Andrea’s blog came just in time, because for the first time in several weeks I didn’t have anything prepared to post today and I was actually considering taking the day off, which I usually don’t like to do.

I started blogging in March 2015 as a creative outlet for myself, as well as to keep a scrapbook of memories for our kids (and us) to look back on one day.  Today’s post marks my 328th post (just crazy to me) and today’s prompt calls for discussing some of my favorites of those 328.  Let me tell you, it’s really hard choosing just a few, but I’m going to give it a try!

Here are ten of my favorites in no apparent order.

Olivia Cate's Pink & Gold First Birthday – this one is by far one of my favorite posts for many reasons.  One, because it was my very first blog post ever.  Two, because it is one of my favorite parties that I’ve ever thrown.  And three, because it still brings in tons of traffic to my blog every single day.  So far the post has been viewed almost 73,000 times due to several pictures from the party going viral on Pinterest.  One of the pictures has been pinned over 8,000 times, one over 16,000 times, and this one below over 37,000 times!!  These stats are still mind-boggling to me.

The Lucky Onesie – If you want to understand my sense of humor, then this post is for you.  It still makes me laugh every time I read it.  And seriously, do we use it again or do we burn it??

Ten Things I Learned From Having a Miscarriage – This post was very hard for me to write, yet also very easy at the same time.  It was the first time I ever opened up and got personal here on the blog, and I wrote it to hopefully help anyone out there who might feel lost or lonely or need comfort after having their own miscarriage.  God knows I needed it after mine.  It was also therapeutic for me to get my feelings out on paper, and it gave me a sense of peace to finally get everything off my chest.

Saying Goodbye – This is a tribute to one of my favorite people in the entire universe, my Big Daddy (grandfather), who passed away last July.  It’s filled with old pictures of he and my grandmother and our entire family, and it’s one that I will always treasure.

Jacob Brian's Birth Story – This one probably doesn’t need any explanation.  Just like it was one of the best days of my life, it is also one of my favorite posts.

Olivia Cate's Birth Story – Same as Jacob’s, this one doesn’t need an explanation either.  It was also one of the best days of my life, and all of her tiny squishy newborn pictures take me back.

My Pregnancy With Olivia in Chalkboard Signs – This was one of the biggest Pinterest projects I have ever taken on, because it involved a once a week commitment for 27 weeks.  Every Sunday afternoon I would think up and draw my chalkboard while Jacob was napping, and then Brian would photograph my big ol’ belly next to it.  These pictures show my artsy side and my maternity style, as well as my big ol’ belly at every stage of her pregnancy.  All of these pictures are very dear to me and I wish I had done the same for Jacob’s pregnancy.

Winter Themed Gender Neutral Baby Shower – This is a baby shower that my mom and I threw for my brother and sis-in-law last Christmas and it’s probably my favorite baby shower that I’ve ever thrown.  We didn’t know if the baby would be a boy or a girl, so we had to get creative with our decorating.  My mom found the cutest wintery invitations and everything else just sort of flowed from there.

Christmas Home Tour – This is our house at its finest, friends.  Four Christmas trees, thousands of twinkle lights, and heaps and heaps of other decorations.  It’s getting me excited for this year!  Head over if you want to be inspired!

A Poo Poo Party... The Weirdest Party I've Thrown Yet – Well, the title about sums this one up… not much more to say about it except that you just need to see it for yourself.  You’ve probably never seen anything like it, that’s for sure!

Well, those are my top ten, and if you’re looking to be inspired for all things fall, you can check these posts out as well.

And finally, honorable mentions... all of my house tours.  Because those were a labor of love.  You can see all of those posts here.

Thanks for stopping by!  Happy reading!
