Five on Friday - February Goals

January was hard and weird... with the kids virtual learning, all of the craziness at the Capitol, and my Grandma passing away, I didn’t think I would get much accomplished.  Surprisingly, I managed to accomplish all but one of my goals and then some!

Today I’m recapping my January goals and listing my February goals.  As always, I’m using a Y for YES and N for NO to indicate whether or not I accomplished my goals.

January Goals

Relationships/Connect

Y  Catch up with a friend or family member once a week via phone or text. – I did lots of catching up this month – a couple of long phone conversations with my dad, a long phone conversation with my uncle, some in-person time with my mom and dad, some texts with three old co-workers and a girlfriend, and we also FaceTimed with my parents for about 45 minutes one evening so the kids could visit with them.

N  Send happy mail to Olivia’s friend who moved to Florida.

Y  Spend time with each child one-on-one. – This is really hard right now since our family is all under the same roof 24/7 (except for when the kids are at school), so we had to get creative.  I spent a couple of hours with Jacob one day cleaning out his room… not exactly the most fun way to spend our time, but we got in some good conversation time while we worked.  I also tried to linger in his room a little longer several of the nights that I tucked him in for bed.  I was able to spend a couple of hours with Olivia the day Jacob had baseball tryouts… she and I played Go Fish the entire time per her request, and I think she enjoyed having me all to herself.

Personal/Health/Wellness/Fitness/Beauty

Y  Meditate, quiet time, and affirmations every day.

Y  Drink 64 oz. most days.

Y  Eat healthy salads for lunch most days.

Y  Eat Larabars instead of M&Ms most afternoons to satisfy my sweet tooth.

Y  Close all rings on my Apple Watch at least 16 days.

Y  Do 50 crunches every day. – I sure did!  There were a few days that I missed doing my crunches or didn’t have time, so I just added them to the next day’s work out.  All in all, I did 1,550 (31 days x 50 per day) which was my goal for the month!

Y  Try a new workout (HIIT, maybe?). – I tried a HIIT workout and it kicked my butt… burned a ton of calories in a very short amount of time!

Y  Visit with therapist via Zoom.

Y  Read It’s Not Supposed to Be This Way.

Y  Clean makeup brushes.

Y  Make a Fresh Start play list.

Family/Fun

Y  Make virtual learning a happy place for the kids. – The first day was really hard and I failed miserably, but after that, things were much better.

Y  Take the kids to ride their scooters at the river walk.

Y  Deposit kids’ money into their savings accounts.

Y  Set up money plan for kids (save, give, spend).

Y  Sign Jacob up for spring baseball.

Y  Start looking at condos for beach trip in June.

Y  Record a video every single day of the month and upload to my One Second a Day app.

Home/Organization/Planning

Y  Clean out Jacob’s entire room.

Y  Clean out Olivia’s entire room.

Y  Clean out entire play room.

Y  Clean out iPhone (apps and contacts, etc.).

Y  Clean out List Master app.

Y  Clean out refrigerator/freezer.

Y  Clean out pantry.

Y  Scrub out our master bathroom tub.

Y  Clean microwave.

Y  Strip all of our towels.

Y  Start prepping for Valentine’s Day.

Y  List the rest of my winter items on Poshmark.

Y  Complete 1 thing on Master To-Do list. – I somehow managed to complete 12 tasks!  I also added 3 new tasks to the list, so it was a gain of 9 tasks crossed off the list this month!

Blog/Social Media

Y  Post 4-5 times per week.

Y  Publish a couple of simple, short posts. – I did!  I posted about our New Year’s Eve bar cart, a few thoughts on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, I did a post about my Rothy’s that I love so much, and I posted about some things that I learned in 2020.

Y  Discontinue hosting link-ups.

Y  Share my home decluttering/organizing on Instagram stories.

Y  Start rolling out brand refresh.

  1. I am excited you are bringing back the to do lists! They always made me think of what I wanted to get done myself. You definitely knocked it out of the park in January with getting things done - even with the two weeks of virtual learning, plus everything else going on - I know February is going to be just as good!

  4. I was looking at the 50 crunches a day and remembered how my doctor said I won't be doing crunches for a very long time. Ugh. You did a great job on your goals last month!
