Happy Friday, y’all! We have such a fun weekend on tap, and I have a lot to do to prep, so let’s get started with some favorites from the week!
O N E – Electronics Organizer Update
I talked about this organizer in last week’s Five on Friday post, and as promised, I got it all set up and I’m here to share the results today. Y’all – I LOVE IT SO MUCH. It’s even better than I’d hoped. We went from all this clutter with wires everywhere…
I bundled all of the cords using these adjustable cables ties and I tucked the cords behind the organizer so we no longer have to see those either… I just left the ends of each of the cords long enough to reach their respective slots.
I love that we went with this transparent option, because it makes it easier for the kids to see all of their stuff, but it still looks polished.
T W O – Adjustable
Cable Ties
Speaking of adjustable cable ties, these were a favorite from the week, too, and I honestly can’t believe I’ve never thought to share these here on the blog as they are so handy. These cable ties are perfect for organizing loose cords and I have them all over the house. They’re made from nylon and the entire thing “sticks” like Velcro to itself, so you can easily wrap it around any cord, adjust it to the perfect tightness, and then the cable tie wraps completely around itself so there are no ends hanging loose on the cable ties either. They wrap up in a perfect little bundle every single time no matter how thick or thin your cord bundle ends up being.
We have used these for years and we have them wrapped around pretty much every loose cord in our entire home. They’re especially great under my desk in my office since I have countless cords. It keeps all of them from getting tangled and makes each cord easier to identify. They’re reuseable, too.
T H R E E – It’s Acorn
Spice Season!
Fall is in full swing, and so are my seasonal soaps! If you’re looking for the perfect fall scented soap that’s not too overpowering, this is it, y’all. It has a warm cinnamon and spice acorn scent, but it’s not overwhelming like some of the Bath & Body Works soaps. I have loved Mrs. Meyers soaps for years because they are made without parabens and phthalates, artificial colors, and other potentially harmful chemicals, and they’re made from clean ingredients from plants, essential oils, aloe vera, glycerin, and olive oil. These will be in the house until November when we switch to Mrs. Meyers Peppermint!
F O U R – It’s Almost
Leggings Season
While it’s still hot here, I know temps are starting to dip into the lower temperatures for some of you, so I’m officially declaring that leggings season is here. I have tried many brands of leggings over the years (pricey and cheap), and these are, by far, the best ones ever for the third year in a row. They literally feel like a second skin in that you barely feel them at all, they don’t ride up or down, and they are very affordable. They now come in NINE different colors, and most colors are fully stocked in sizes XS – 4X. I have now replaced most of my old leggings with these, and I also have two pairs of the flare version which are not really practical for running or fast walking, but they are SO cute and practical for a day of running errands or doing yoga, lighter workouts, etc.
F I V E – The Summer I
Turned Pretty Movie
For those of you who watched the finale of The Summer I Turned Pretty, what did you think?! I absolutely LOVE how the series was wrapped up… so much that I loved it even more than the books. The soundtrack to the show was completely on point and it still boggles my mind how many Taylor Swift songs were used… their budget for music must have been insanely large.
When Dress by TS came on in the finale, I practically melted right off the couch and onto the floor. There was not a song more perfect for that pivotal moment… the parallels between the lyrics and some of the things that were said/implied throughout the series – PERFECTION.
While I appreciated that all the loose ends were tied up in a neat little bow at the end, I was still yearning for more, so I was thrilled to see that Jenny Han is giving us a MOVIE to wrap everything up once and for all. And that has been a favorite since it was announced!
