Confessions {5.4.2017}

Well, I originally had something else planned for today, but life got in the way as it tends to do, and I didn’t have time to finish the original post.  So instead, you’re getting another dose of confessions... that’s all that I can seem to put together on a whim these days!  And I have noticed that my last few confessions posts have been more “complaints” posts, so I’m going to try to make this one a little more lighthearted.  I can’t promise anything, though.  ;o)

I confess…

… that I can never get ahead in my blog posting schedule.  Most of the bloggers I know prep at least a few days in advance for a post, but nope, not me.  I literally compose each post the night before it goes live.  #FlyingByTheSeatOfMyPants  #ImpossibleToGetAhead

… that I literally have hundreds of ideas for blog posts all kept neatly on an Excel spreadsheet by category, but I can’t ever seem to get to most of them because I’m so set in my weekly routine of weekend posts, fashion posts, and Five on Friday posts (and apparently Confessions posts).  Oh, and also because I don’t have the time to prep for them.  Oh well, at least I shouldn’t have to worry about the well ever running dry.  #NoWritersBlockHere  #MyMindIsForeverSwirling

… that B and I have ditched the kids two times this week to go on dates.  I don’t usually like leaving them twice in one week, but this time?  #YOLO

… that Instagram has been extra challenging this week.  For whatever reason, with all of the follows and unfollows that I’m getting, my number hasn’t moved for the last few days.  Before this week, I have always had overall gains most days, but for the last week it has been hovering around the same number.  I have also noticed that the quantity of people following and unfollowing me has drastically decreased.  I have no idea what’s going on, but I had to take a breather from it this week so I didn’t go insane.  Anybody else notice anything different?  Maybe Insta purged a bunch of accounts?

… that I am so nervous about starting my allergy shots.  The big day is tomorrow and the nurse at the allergist has gotten me all paranoid about it.  “Be SURE to continue taking your daily allergy meds that the doctor prescribed.  Don’t DARE come to the appointment without your Epi-Pen.  We will have to monitor you closely to make sure that you don’t have a reaction to the shot.”  EEK!  #JustPleaseDontMakeMeStabMyselfWithTheEpiPen #IMightWouldRatherDie

… that I am going to pick up my Epi-Pen from the pharmacy today and I am so anxious to see what the cost is.  #MightGoPostalOnTheCashier

… that I have had a bowl of frozen yogurt or some other sweet treat literally every night since Lent ended.  #NoShame

… that I am loving my stair stepper, but I can only do like 300 steps before I’m completely winded and sweaty and feel like my heart is going to explode.  #KickingMyHiney  #WorkingMyWayUpTo400  #MightGetThereByOctober

… that we are supposed to have MORE tornadoes in our area today and I am T-E-R-R-I-F-E-D.  I mean, what do they think this is?  Tornado alley?  #Nope  #WorstYearForSevereWeatherEver

Happy Thursday, all!  Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers today.  We might be hunkering down in our safe place as you’re reading this.  #OverIt

  1. Oh my I do not think I could stab myself with an epipen...even if my throat was closing up haha! You may have to throw it at someone if you're out in a crowd and motion to your leg ha! And I sometimes get ahead on blog posts and it's the most wonderful feeling ever and I wish I were like that all the time!

  2. Our weather is terrible, too - so much flooding and then we had more rain yesterday and again today! Hope you guys stay safe! Like Sarah, I wish I were more consistent with getting ahead - the people that do it like weeks in advance just amazes me. I am good if I do a day or two, haha.

  3. I hope that your allergy shots go ok! I'll say a prayer for you friend. I too would love to get ahead blogging, but you know, life and such doesn't allow it. Right now I'm trying to play catch up on replying to a boat load of comments (both on blog and facebook). What I really need to do is drop the girls off at Grandma and Grandpa's and take a day to get my stuff in order.

    1. Thank you so much! And yes, I feel your pain... it's nearly impossible to keep up with the comments and emails! Have a great weekend!

  4. I always want to stay ahead of blogging too but just can't do it. Some weeks I can be like a day ahead but that's about it! I really hope your allergy shots go well and that the epi pen isn't a bagillion dollars! LOL And of course I really hope you don't the bad weather they are predicting!!

  5. If you get to the point where you need to stab yourself, you will do it. Why? Because your brain will be FLOODED with thoughts of Brian, Jacob & Olivia. There is no need to worry because it won't happen! :) Like you, I also feel in a blogging rut and want to branch out from the established themes throughout the week. One day when I have time I may actually do that...

  6. I hope your allergy shot goes ok tomorrow. I will be thinking of you! I also hope the bad weather misses you guys. That is crazy!

  7. I actually noticed a lot less of the unfollows on instagram. That doesn't mean I'm going up, but at least I didn't lose 10 followers overnight each day this week! Good luck with the allergy shots.

  8. Oh no to more storms! I hope they aren't bad! I seriously need to check out a stair stepper. Something that isn't huge and actually gets you a workout. Yes please!

  9. I literally cannot get ahead on my blogging schedule either. I'm really trying to change that....but it will not be this month! HA
We are having LOTS of rain here today but no storms...yet!
I know its easier said then done, but try not to freak about the shots! Remember I took a 4 year old every week...that was rough in the beginning! Ian only had 1 reaction and it was minor. I forgot to give him his Zrytec that morning. They gave him Benadryl in the office and we had to stay an extra 30 minutes...eek!
    Good Luck!

  10. I hope your allergy appointments go well. So scary. And I hope your epi-pen doesn't cost a fortune. That would really suck. I also hope you don't have anymore tornado warnings. I keep seeing those and feel so bad for the South. So scary. I need that stair stepper.

  11. Ahh I hope the appointment goes well. That's exciting to get those started though. I hope they start to bring you some relief. I've got the stair stepper on my list...I just hope it doesn't sell out now, ha. Hoping the tornadoes go and STAY away!

  12. I can get maybe a day ahead, like I write half of it...so I guess that is something. As far as allergy shots go, I had a reaction once, and before they do the epi-pen they try to minimize it by giving you some steroids and a breathing treatment. At least they did with me, and I had to stay for an extra 2 hours. Although I'm not sure why you should have the epi-pen, my doctors office has all of that to take care of you if something should happen. You got this! Figure out what works for you, pinching, no pinching...but I much prefer a hard pinch, think about that then a needle going in...good luck!

  13. No shame in your sweet treats game! I have the biggest sweet tooth- why oh why do they have to be so bad for us!? I'd love that stepper for my classroom- that wouldn't be distracting to be teaching while stepping, right!? :)

  14. Instagram is crazy - none of the people with larger followings I see in my feed, you included. I have to search people out to see their posts, I have noticed some are posting their profile in their Instagram stories to direct people, so wondering if it's not just me?!?!. All of a sudden I noticed....I have no idea why and it's super annoying! Not sure if it's related but there's that!

  15. Good luck with your allergy appointment! I feel your pain. I went through years of allergy appointments/testing, moving and doing all kinds of different things and finally feel like things are under control. I was always intrigued by the shots, but haven't lived in a place long enough for that to be an option lately. Thinking of you!!
