What I Ordered from Amazon in October 2021

Happy Monday, y’all!  Today I’m sharing my Amazon purchases in the month of October.  We’ve already started Christmas shopping over here, so I’ve been grabbing items here and there.  I also had to plan Olivia’s class Halloween party, so between buying supplies for that and Christmas shopping in addition to our regular shopping, today’s post is going to be meaty.  Let’s get started!

Gold-Plated and Colorful Bead Elastic Bracelets

I wear bracelets nearly every day and my favorite kind to wear are elastics that stay close to my wrist.  I’ve never been a big fan of bangles or anything bulky that gets in the way when I’m doing stuff.  This set was on a lightning deal a few days ago for practically nothing, so I grabbed a set.  I’ve been wanting some plain gold beaded bracelets to compliment the kids’ name bracelets I wear nearly every day, and these were perfect.

Hocus Pocus Graphic Tee

My Halloween graphic tee collection is lacking… prior to purchasing this tee, I only had one very old long-sleeve tee and a sweatshirt.  I’ve never owned a short-sleeve Halloween graphic tee (fall, yes, but not Halloween), and typically this time of year we’re still in short-sleeves.  I’m a long-time fan of Hocus Pocus like most of you other 90’s kids, so this one was a must.  I love how understated it is and that it’s not quite so in-your-face-Halloween, and I LOVE that the sleeves are stitched rolled-up.  That adds such a feminine touch to an otherwise plain tee.  And y'all, it's on sale for just $7.99 now, so go ahead and buy one now for next year when the price goes back up to $14.99!!

Girls’ Jeans

I’ve already talked about these bell bottom jeans once.  Olivia hates jeans.  She hates pants.  She now also hates leggings or anything else that covers her legs for that matter.  Sigh.  She lives in dresses, jumpers, and skirts, but she just has to figure out how to wear pants, y’all.  Since the pants she’s worn in the past have always been of the skinny variety, I decided to try something totally different and go with a loose-fitting bell bottom to see if she liked those.  These jeans are absolutely ADORABLE, y’all.  They have an elastic waist for comfort and the quality is surprisingly good for jeans purchased on Amazon… I have to say that I was a little skeptical at first.  They look absolutely darling on her, and while she’s still not 100% sold on wearing pants, she has been willing to wear these, so we’re making progress.

Christmas in the City Puzzle

Our fam loves puzzles, and now that the kids are older, we’ve been tackling 1,000, and even 2,000-piece puzzles.  I bought this Christmas in the City 1,000-piece puzzle to give us a fun little something to do during this holiday season.  Baseball season will be winding down soon and most of our evenings will be free, so I foresee a lot of cozy evenings in working on this.  Doesn’t it just make you feel happy and cozy looking at it?  It reminds me of Christmas in New York which was my all-time favorite trip that B and I have ever taken.  All the Serendipity and Home Alone 2 vibes.

Thanksgiving in the Woods

We LOVE children’s books, and although our kids have long been reading chapter books, I still do buy a few children’s books here and there.  I’m very selective about the ones I buy now, and I’m only sticking to the ones that I’ll save forever and ever.  This story is so sweet, and the illustrations are gorgeous, so this one is a keeper for sure.   Hopefully one day I’ll be reading this one to our grandkids.  ;o)

Christmas Paint by Sticker Book

Olivia loves these Paint by Sticker books, and I couldn’t resist this Christmas version when I saw it because it was on super sale for less than $4!!

Set of 2 Skeletons

I bought these hilarious guys to step up my Halloween game around the house, even if it was a little late in the season this year.  The kids have begged year after year for me to go all out for Halloween, so I’m slowly building my collection of decorations.  This pack of two skeletons are the absolute best quality and I was surprised to find that all of their joints work so they can be fully posed in any manner.  Ours hung out on the bar cart this season, but next year I plan to utilize them fully… I can’t wait to add one to a charcuterie board!

Fuzzy Slippers

Olivia loves blankets and slippers and all things cozy.  She saw these slippers in the Amazon Fashion Catalog and she immediately added them to her Christmas list.  Done and done.  They are great quality – super soft and warm – and the best part is that they have sturdy rubber soles so when she inevitably walks outside in them, it won’t ruin them.

Slime Kit

Sigh.  I’m already regretting this slime kit purchase.  Olivia saw it and she just HAD to have it, and it just so happened to be on a lightning deal the day we looked at it, so I went ahead and bought it (without her knowledge) and she’ll be getting it for Christmas.  We’ve made it this many years with neither of our kids asking to make slime, but now here we are.  I am SO going to regret this.  Haha.

Peppermint Mrs. Meyers Cleaning Spray

Peppermint Mrs. Meyers hand soap is my all-time favorite hand soap of all the soaps in existence.  It smells SO fresh and clean and it reminds me of Christmas, so I bought a bottle of the cleaner, too.  I pretty much only clean with Thieves from Young Living, but I wanted to buy a bottle of this to use at Christmastime.  The price has skyrocketed on Amazon since I bought it, though, so if you’re wanting some, too, you may want to check elsewhere first.

Mineral Fusion Nail Polish Remover

I’ve been wanting to try a natural nail polish remover since the standard nail polish remover has so many terrible chemicals in it.  I did some research and found this one on Amazon.  It has over 48,000 reviews on Amazon with 4.8/5 stars, so it has to be good, right?  Everyone says that it’s one of the few natural polish removers that actually takes off polish easily.  And it’s acetone free!

Edible Ink Markers

This was a purchase for Olivia’s class Halloween party.  The kids made marshmallow monsters, and the pens were needed to draw faces on their marshmallows.

Candy Sticks

This was another purchase for the Halloween party.  These were also needed for the marshmallow monsters.  We thought it would be a good idea for the kids to just spear their marshmallows with these, so they didn’t have to handle them with their bare hands.  The less food handling there is, the fewer the germs!

5x7 Canvas 24-Pack

Another purchase for the class Halloween party, this set of 24 canvases was for the handprint vampires and witches that the kids made.  They all turned out so dang cute!

Neutrogena Hydro Boost Hydrating Cleansing Gel

I’ve been using these Neutrogena Hydro Boost products for over a year now, and I love them all SO much.  This cleansing gel is what I use to take my makeup off each evening, and it washes everything off effortlessly.  It also smells great, and it leaves my face feeling nice and clean.  I needed a refill and Amazon had it cheapest as they usually do!

Barf Bags, 15-Pack

I recently stocked my car with a bunch of in-case-of-emergency items, and I bought these barf bags to keep in there just in case.  So weird (and gross) to talk about the details of these (LOL), but these are nice because they have a rim that fits over the mouth perfectly.  They also have a special closure system that seals odors and ensures that there are no spills – just twist and secure the bag into a notched ring.

Smarty Pants Women’s Daily Multi-Vitamins

Oh gosh, I’ve talked about my love for these vitamins here on the blog countless times, and here they are again!  I wasn’t even in need of any, but I just happened to see that they are on sale for only $13.99 per bottle!!!!  Y’all.  That is, by far, the cheapest I’ve ever seen them!  The old version was always anywhere between $29.99-$34.99 for a month’s supply, and this newer version has been hanging in strong at $19.99 for a month’s supply, so to see them for only $13.99 was just unbelievable.  Anyway, these are awesome.  They have 21 essential nutrients including Vitamin D, Biotin, Magnesium, and Omega-3, and they are GMO-free as well as vegetarian.  You can take them with or without food and they don’t make you feel yucky like some other multi-vitamins do.

Reversible Plush Octopus

Both of our kids have been itching to spend some of their money, so we let them each pick out a couple of things on Amazon last week.  Apparently, these reversible octopi are all the rage on TikTok right now and they’re trending in the fifth grade at our school, so this was the first thing that Jacob bought.  These plushies flip inside and out – one side has a smiley face and one side has a mad face – and they come in tons of different colors and expressions.  They’re actually super cute and you may be seeing them again on my gift guide for kids.  ;o)

Reversible Plush Octopus

Olivia loved the one that Jacob picked so much that she opted to spend her money on one, too.  Her choice was this reversible yellow smiley face that turns into a blue one with starry eyes.  So dang cute, y’all!

Fidget Cube

One of Jacob’s friends at school also has one of these fidget cubes, and he’s been wanting one ever since he saw it.  This cube has six different fidget activities – click, glide, flip, breathe, roll, and spin – so it has something for everyone.  It’s really small so you can carry it in your pocket, and it comes in five different color combos.  The perfect stocking stuffer!

Disney Frozen 2 Elsa Styling Head

Olivia also decided to buy one of these styling heads with her own money.  In addition to Elsa, it comes with a comb, three barrettes, two clips, two hair spirals, four elastics, and a third larger hair clip.  Olivia does love to brush my hair, so I think she’ll enjoy this.

Lego Disney Ariel, Belle, Cinderella, and Tiana Storybook

Olivia LOVES these Disney Storybook Lego sets and she has most of them.  This one was just released, so I bought it for her for Christmas.  In the past, some of the other models have been hard to find, so I wanted to jump on this one before it sells out!

Disney Frozen 2 Imagine Ink Books

These Imagine Ink books are probably one of Olivia’s most favorite things EVER, and a bunch of new ones have been released just in time for the holidays.  This two-pack is only $8.45, which is less expensive than the usual $5.99 each, so I snatched them right up to give to her for Christmas.  She’s going to go nuts.  These books are seriously the coolest and they’d make great gifts for any kid… and they’re very affordable!

Lego City 2021 Advent Calendar

We get Lego Advent calendars for the kids each year, and we got this Lego City version for Jacob.

Lego Friends 2021 Advent Calendar

Olivia loves Lego Friends, so we opted for this calendar for her this year.  And they do change them from year-to-year so they're not constantly getting the same items over and over.  I checked this year because I was worried about that!

Happy Monday, y’all!

  1. We keep zip lock bags in the car but those barf bags are smart! We have a fidget cube somewhere, it pops out of hiding every so often.

  6. Those girl jeans are so cute! I have two boys that wont wear jeans either; they rarely tolerate any pants that have a "real" waistband.

  8. For some reason, my work had blocked me from visiting your blog. So weird. I need that edible ink marker and the skeletons. I can’t say I’ll ever need those barf bags as I don’t have kiddos but that design is genius!

  9. You had so many good finds this month! I clicked on so many but just have to comment to tell you that this is the first year in MANY (maybe 2008) that I will not be buying a Lego Advent calendar. Sigh! Thanks so much for linking up!
