From the Cutting Room Floor

April was actually a lighter month for pictures.  And by light, I mean that I still took a couple thousand pictures, but the majority of those were for actual events and I seemed to take way fewer of the in-between-photos this month.

You may recognize a couple from my Insta Stories if you follow me on there, but if you don’t, these will all be new to you!

Here we go!

My first baby rarely looks at the camera, but if I say “pork chomp” (her favorite treat) or “bye bye” I can often trick her into looking at me.  Yes, I know this is cruel and yes, I still do it.  Haha.

Beautiful flowers at my MIL’s.

A snake… I repeat, A SNAKE on the sidewalk in our front yard.  Yes, it’s tiny, and no it’s not poisonous.  Fortunately it was already dead when we found it, but it died with its eyes open and its mouth open like it was about to strike.  Grosses me out to no end.

Dryer shopping one day... I don’t think I’ve ever mentioned on here how crappy our dryer is.  To give you an idea, it takes 2-3 hours to dry one load of clothing.  Yes, that’s 2-3 HOURS to dry ONE load of clothing.  Our dryer is only as old as our house (eight-ish years) but it has always sucked so we are incredibly overdue for a new one.  Recommendations are much appreciated.  We want something nice that can dry clothes at lightning speed.  Or at least one that dries clothes faster than laying them out on a drying rack.  #NoJoke

On this day I was making a Walmart run and B had requested that I get his sunscreen as he was out.  They didn’t have his usual, but they had this one by the same brand so I quickly sent him a screen shot and asked if he wanted it.  His answer?  Nope.  #DoesntLikeTryingNewThings

One evening after dinner, Olivia was “braiding” my hair and when she realized she couldn’t quite get the job done, she asked me to braid my own hair.  I took a quick snapshot of it so see how I had done.  The verdict?  Not too shabby considering I couldn’t see what I was doing.

My new silver tray from my MIL found its new home on our kitchen table.  I placed our Waterford Crystal vase (a wedding gift) full of flowers leftover from our wedding reception in the center, and it looks amazing!

My new shoes that I’m loving so flipping much!  B picked them up for my birthday and I have been wearing them practically every day since then.

Reading to my girl… this is one of her favorite books right now!

I loved the way that this gold necklace looked up against my black and white stripes, so I snapped a quick picture.

Ok, so tell me… does anybody else feel this way??  Do you??  #CoffeeIsMyMeal

I went to check on Olivia one night before going to bed, and I found her like this.  She looked so beautiful with her hair cascading down the side of the bed like that.  I just love her.

And that’s about it!  Have a wonderful Tuesday!

  1. Love these! So funny B wanted nothing to do with a new sunscreen. And yes girl, coffee totally fills me up, especially when it is a good, rich drink from a place like Starbucks. Have a great day-hopefully no more tornadoes!

    1. Girl, it was so yucky! I think about the kids playing in the yard and it FREAKS ME OUT to know there could be snakes out there. He was totally harmless, though.

And I'm glad to know that I'm not the only one who stays full forever after drinking Starbs.

And THANK YOU for the no more tornadoes dance... my nerves can't handle anymore!

  9. I love these kind of posts! Which is exactly what I did today. Too many pictures that I take never make it to my blog and they are some of my favorites! Although narrowing down from 2K is always tough. Haha! Love getting little glimpses of your days!

  10. Dead snakes and spiders that die from falling through the ceiling - what is going on?! That snake pic is FREAKY. To answer your coffee question, I always feel full after a drink from Starbucks, but not if I make my own - it will hold me over for a little bit, but not as long as one from Starbizzle.

  11. I love these outtakes. Your shoes are so cute, I love them. The dead snake would have freaked me out. I am not a snake person. How do people have them for pets?!?!?!

    1. EEK, I KNOW! I made the hubs get rid of it!! Even though it was only a few inches long, I couldn't bring myself to touch it. And I sure didn't want to leave it there on the sidewalk where the kids play.

  18. I love your blog and have followed you a long time! :). I have been also trying to follow you on Instagram, but it will not let me click "follow." It will never switch to "following."
And if I try to get to your Instagram from a link in your blog it always says "page not found" or "this link is broken." Is anyone else having this problem, or am I doing something wrong??
    Thanks!!

    1. Thank you for following along! I have no clue why Instagram isn't working... I don't think I'm having any issues, but there is no way to know for sure. What is your Instagram handle? If you let me know, I'll see if I can find you! And thank you for letting me know that there was an issue... I'll have to keep a close eye on it in case it's happening for someone else!

  20. I like snakes - they control rodent populations! And they are easy pets. We don't own any now, but my family did when I was younger.
