Another Fall Weekend + Rock Ranch

It was nice to be back on regular scheduled programming this weekend after two weekends on vacation!  We spent our days doing equal parts relaxing, equal parts getting things done, and equal parts having fun.

Friday evening, we were completely exhausted and since it was our first Friday in weeks with nothing to do, we decided to do exactly that.  Nothing.  B picked up pizza on the way home, we opened one of our bottles of wine from the vineyard in North Georgia, and then we spent the evening in pajamas.

After dinner Brian hooked up our new projector and screen and we watched Trolls out on the back porch.  There was a chill in the air so we all bundled up in fuzzy blankets, the twinkle lights were on, and it was the epitome of a perfect evening.  I think there will be many more nights like this one!

Once the kids went to bed, B and I kicked back on the couch and watched Me Before You.  I had read the book and loved it, and I enjoyed the movie, too.  It was a little cheesy and the girl who played Louisa’s acting was a little over the top at times, but it still made me cry at the end.  No surprise there, though.

Saturday we were up and at ‘em because Jacob had a soccer game at 10:30.  We ended up getting our second loss of the season, 5-3.  The other team was definitely good.  And I was a terrible blogger and didn’t take a single picture so I have nothing to share with you.

The rest of the day was spent tending to the home that we’ve been neglecting for the last few weeks.  Sweeping, mopping, wiping down counters, dusting, vacuuming, cleaning toilets, and doing huuuuge amounts of laundry was how I spent my day while B tended to the yard.

Saturday evening we went to church, and then went out to dinner with my parents at one of our favorite local pubs.  Saturday night B and I lounged on the couch and watched football even though Georgia didn’t play this weekend.

Sunday morning we lazed around the house, Jacob got ahead on his spelling homework for the upcoming week, and I got the meal planning and grocery list made for the upcoming week.

Sunday afternoon we loaded up the car and made the drive to a place called Rock Ranch.  Fun fact: it was founded by Truett Cathy… the man who founded Chick-Fil-A!  :o)  Anywho, they have a thing called Sunday Funday during the fall and they have loads of fun fall things to do.

We caravanned with some of my girlfriends and their families (including Adrienne) and we spent the day together there.  It was so much fun, and the kids had a blast.  They had tire swings, underground slides, a jumping pillow, a rock wall, a zip-line, a train, a pumpkin cannon, a carousel, bouncy houses, a tiny little village for the kids to play, multiple playgrounds, a corn pit, a corn maze, a pumpkin patch, and loads and loads of other stuff.  The property was just stunning... we could have easily stayed there for an entire day.  Georgia peeps, it is well worth the drive, so check it out!

We made it back home just in time for Sunday dinner with my family and then it was back home to get everyone in bed before the new week.

Happy Monday, y’all!

  8. I have wondered about the Me Before You movie. The book was so fantastic, it'd be hard to match it movie wise. I still want to see it though. And that is the coolest - watching a movie outside on a projector. Such fun! Have a good week!
