What I Ordered from Amazon in August 2019

I usually post these Amazon posts on Tuesdays, but since we’re still weekending today for Labor Day I thought I’d just go ahead and get this post up today and save the weekend one for tomorrow so I’ll be able to include today in the recap.

After buying up the entire Amazon website in the month of July, we definitely cooled our jets on the Amazon purchases in August.  The few things that I did buy are so good, though, so keep reading to see what we got!

Red Ruffle Babydoll Dress

B and I are attending the Georgia vs. Notre Dame game later this month and it’s going to be a good one!  Since it’ll likely be a billion degrees that day I wanted to find something cute, but cool, to wear to the game.  Y’all know here in the south us girls like to dress up for the games, so a bright red dress, short-sleeve has been on my radar for quite some time.  This dress fit the bill and it is SO GOOD, y’all.  It’s cute, comfy, and the quality is surprisingly great.  At just $18.99 it’s a steal and it also comes in lots of other beautiful colors that are perfect for fall!  And one last thing to note... it's not nearly as short on me as it is on the model.  She must be super tall!  Haha.

Pumpkin Spice Everything

Well if this shirt doesn’t scream Lindsay then I don’t know what does!  My collection of graphic tees for fall is lacking (I only have one), so I scooped up this one to add to my collection.  Just $15.99!

Twist Knot Waffle Knit Sleeveless Top

If you read blogs or follow any fashion bloggers on Amazon then you’ve probably seen this top all over creation the past few weeks.  I grabbed one for myself during a lightning deal to see what all of the fuss was about and now I completely understand!  This is the perfect transitional top from summer to fall – the fabric and colors look more fall-ish, but the top will keep you nice and cool when it’s still a hundred dregrees out.  I’ve only had this one for a couple of weeks and I’ve already worn it three times!  It’s $18.99 (although mine was way cheaper as I snagged it during a lightning deal) and it comes in almost 20 different colors!!!!  They also have a long sleeve version as well!

Burt’s Bees Halloween PJs

I’ve already mentioned these PJs on the blog in a Friday favorites post, but I’m mentioning them here again because they’re so great!  Jacob is getting older and doesn’t get on board with too many of the character clothes anymore so I thought I’d grab some PJs that are festive for fall and Halloween, but not too babyish.  These are $16.57 and they also come in other Halloween patterns like spider webs and pumpkins.  And if you haven’t ever tried Burt’s Bees PJs then you’re missing out.  They are so soft and the quality is top notch.

Batman Thermos

I’ve also mentioned these Thermos funtainers numerous times on the blog.  Our kids have each had one for years and they last forever.  They keep cold drinks cold for twelve hours (they actually do) and they are leak-proof (and they truly actually are).  I can’t tell you how many days these come home upside down in book bags and they never leak!  Anyway, Jacob had outgrown his Minions themed Thermos so we let him pick a new one to keep at school and he chose this simple Batman one… only $11.99!  They also have pretty much every other character you can imagine so if you’re in the market for a thermos, you can pretty much guarantee there will be a character your child will love!

Brita Replacement Filters

Plastic is completely ruining the environment so we are trying to reduce our plastic use as much as possible, and therefore, we have stopped buying bottled water aside from the few that we keep on hand in case of emergency.  We’ve started using a Brita pitcher along with a reusable bottle for everyone in the family and that alone has drastically reduced how much plastic our family was putting in the recycling bin each week.  I buy all of my Brita replacement filters on Amazon because they’re significantly cheaper there than anywhere else.  This 3-pack is just $14.44 and there’s also an opportunity to subscribe and save even more money than that.

Sticky Bats

The kids have been begging me to change up the fall décor for years and start including Halloween elements as well, so I have finally decided to humor them this year.  I have grand plans for our mantle and they involve a whole bunch of sticky bats, so these were just purchased over the weekend to make all of the kids’ Halloween dreams come true!  Only $7.39 for a pack of 72 and they are safe to stick on the walls!

LR1130 Coin Cell Batteries

Several of the kids’ books take these coin cell batteries so I bought this package on Amazon because, again, they are so much cheaper on Amazon than anywhere else!  Lithium batteries are usually so expensive, but these are a great deal at just $5.99 for a 20-pack.

Amazon Gift Card

Finally, an Amazon gift card… because you can’t go wrong giving one of those to someone for a gift!  We celebrated my Daddy’s birthday in August, and that’s what he got from us.  He’s so stinking hard to buy for, so that’s my go-to when I can’t think of anything else for him!  They have so many card/box options, most of which don’t cost extra, and they typically do free one-day shipping for them, so we always purchase our Amazon gift cards directly from Amazon rather than Walgreens or other brick and mortar stores.

And that’s it, y’all!  Not too many things this month, but some great finds!

If you’re new around here and you’re curious to see what else we’ve ordered in past months, check out the posts below!

I hope everyone has a fun and safe Labor Day!

    1. Girl, YES! I'm so thankful for Amazon. Last night I ran out of one of my allergy medications and I was able to order it from my bed and it'll be at my doorstep first thing tomorrow. And I paid less for it there than I would have at Walmart. It truly is the best!

  8. LOVE that dress. I'd love to see it on, because you are right, it does look darn short on that model! I love that sleeveless top, too. The color and material are perfect for transitioning to fall!

    1. Me too! The waffle fabric looks fall-ish, but still keeps you cool when it's blazing out.
