My Perfect Fall Day

I normally have a weekend recap up on Mondays, but we were out of town most of the weekend, so I didn’t have time to work on a post.  Instead, I’m using the prompt for Emily and Sarah’s link-up this Thursday to talk about what my perfect fall day would look like.

Mine would look a little something like this…

+ Wake up on a mid-November morning to temps in the forties.

+ Check my weather app while getting ready for the day to see that it’s going to be sunny with low humidity and a high in the low sixties.  Cool, crisp, sunny, and dry.  The quintessential fall day.

+ Pull on my favorite leggings, a cute long red and black sweater or tunic, and accessorize with a cute scarf, a Georgia G face tattoo, and my favorite brown riding boots.

+ Take an OOTD picture with my little BFF in our matching red and black and G face tattoos.

+ Head out early with the whole fam to grab pumpkin donuts from Krispy Kreme for breakfast, while also swinging through the Starbucks drive-thru next door for a Pumpkin Spice Latte.  Yes, so basic, but considering I’ve loved all things pumpkin since I was a wee tot, I basically invented basic.  ;o)

+ Hit the road for Athens because it’s game day!!  We listen to my favorite Rod Stewart standards, Steve Tyrell, and Michael Buble on the way there because nothing says cozy fall vibes like those guys.  Once we’re 30 minutes out from Athens we switch to our UGA playlist to get all hyped up for the game.

+ Arrive in Athens late in the morning and spend the next few hours walking the campus, taking in all of the sights, tailgating with family and friends, watching other football games on TV at our tailgate, and watching our very own little Georgia football player and Georgia cheerleader play in all of the fallen leaves of red, orange, and yellow.  The campus is seriously gorgeous in November and it’s one of my favorite places to be during the fall, especially on game day.  And seriously, nothing is better than seeing my babies in their Georgia gear!

+ Get to the stadium just before 3:30 kick-off, load up on cotton candy and popcorn for the kids, and spend the next 3.5 hours cheering our hearts out for our Dawgs!  Games at 3:30 are always perfect for the kids because they don’t end too late, but we still get to experience magic of the stadium at night.

+ Dawgs win and we’re still undefeated!  And while we’re at it, we’re also ranked #1!  Hey, this is my daydream, I can do what I want.  ;o)

+ We make the walk back to the car, load up, and stop at our favorite Chick-Fil-A for dinner before making the drive back home.

+ Kids fall asleep in the car and B and I get them in the bed right away once we arrive back at home.

+ Get in my fuzzy PJs, light a Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin candle or diffuse some cinnamon and nutmeg, put a fire in the fireplace, grab a treat, and snuggle up on the couch with Brian and Maui for the rest of the night watching the late football games.  Alabama loses so it’s looking like we have an excellent chance to make it to the National Championship Game!  Sorry, Alabama fans, but I’m tired of y’all.  It’s our turn.  Hahahaha.

+ Go to sleep after a full, perfect day with my favorite people knowing that the next day is Sunday and it’s the start of Thanksgiving week… one of my favorite weeks of the entire year!  We’re all off of work and school for the whole week and we’ll be able to fill all of our days with nothing but more fall goodness – pumpkin patches, walks in the park, fall movie watching, baking, lots of time with extended family, lots of snuggling, and then the day after Thanksgiving… ALL THINGS CHRISTMAS!!!!

I can’t possibly think of a more perfect scenario for the perfect fall day.

  2. This really does sound like the perfect Fall day! I've never tried the pumpkin spice donut from Dunkin...Maybe I need to try it this season! And I love that your kiddos can come along to the games with you guys. That gives me hope for the future! I think our kids (2 & 3) are still a little too small.

  8. Lol to your football dreams, I am tired of Alabama too. This sounds like an amazing day. There is nothing like football and pumpkin flavors and scents that scream fall. And leggings and boots too :)
